ARY Film Awards 2016 winners .. more like JPNA awards

The second ARY Film Awards were held in Dubai last night on 16th April 2016. The first inauguration ceremony was held in 2014 for the films released in 2013. However the awards were not held in 2015.

ARY Film Awards 2016 were based on all the films released in 2015 however one major Urdu film Bin Roye was withdrawn by its producer Moomal Entertainment. A special award was given to Namaloom Afraad as the best film of 2014.

Here is the winners list in the rest of the categories. On the whole the film Jawani Phir Naahi Ani dominated the awards.

Special Recognition Award: The special award for the late legendary actor Waheed Murad., and it is received by his son Adil Muraad

Has anyone got an answer to why Momina Duraid withdrew Bin roye? Secondly, JPNA was good infact hilarious but seriously it did not deserve awards like Best story (Vasay Ch), Best actor and actress in a supporting role (Ayesha K & Hamza), Best lead actress (Sohai).

Ayesha Khan was good in JPNA and so was Sohai but they were not award worthy performances. Hamza was average. And JPNA as a story had so many loopholes.

I knew these would turn out like this. JPNA was the biggest hit of Pakistani cinema last year AND it had ARY as its association. There was no way it wasn't going to be a clean sweep winner. Award shows are anyways filled with biasedness. I mean, Sohai for lead actress for JPNA? For what? Her thumkas in Fair n Lovely Ka Jalwa?

And they'll keep finding out ways to award Fawad Khan year after year 😆 Matlab..azeem mulk hai hamara. Felicitating actors because they are famous in India 😆 Kuch bhi!

2015 was a good year for Pakistani cinema. We got many movies. The award show could've been a good opportunity to give some attention to everything that happened in Pakistani cinema as a way of establishing that yes, we have a proper industry now where diverse work is being done. But they just made it into a JPNA fest. And the other winners? They just awarded big names associated with other movies and found a way to somehow award every single person who worked in JPNA.

What the heck is a special listeners award?
