Shivraj Sekhar. His entry was a dream, yet so real. His character hooked us at first glance, then grew in us like a symbiote. His presence nourished the eyes and heart of the BV viewers. He was a Prince Charming with a twist. He was the one who made the morose Anandi smile again, the one who lifted up her decayed self-esteem with his Midas touch. He was an ideal man-- no, not your regular "macho man" or "intense-brooding-Darcy" prototype, nor was he the charming, playful chocolate hero who stopped hearts with his smile. And not merely the "nice guy on the side" who we so often see getting friend-zoned in Rom-coms.
He was ALL OF THEM. Rolled.Into.One. In perfect and balanced measure. He was a dream, but not the typical one. He was Shiv Raj Sekhar. He brought out the best in Anandi, returned to viewers the fireball we previously saw in the little one played by Avika. Their scenes brought out the depth of their relationship, rather than showcase mere physical "passion".
He was extraordinary, unprecendented, exemplary. And so will he remain in the hearts of all BV viewers.
It is for this character that I'll praise and curse the Creative team of BV, in the same breath. Why did they have to show us such a beautiful dream, only to shatter it to pieces later?
