PART 2 ( THE MISSING PRINCE )

The marriage rituals were going on as usual in mithila and the palace was was the center of a huge commotion. Not even a single person , right from the servants to the

emperor himself , was seen relaxed, everyone was busy with the preparations.

Ram and Sita had been called that day to the kings chamber's. All elders were present there including sages vashisht, vishwamitra and shatanand , King Dahsrath , King

Janak And his brother along with their Queens.

Vishwamitra : Ram , tumhe to gyaat hi hoga ki humne tumhe kyoon bulwaya hai . Tumhara paksh maine dono maharaj ke saamne rakha , aur yeh jaankar tumhe atyant prasannata hogi ki unka bhi yahi matt hai .

Janak : Ji gurudev , Ayodhya aur mithila ke sambandh ab chaar guna mazboot ho jaenge .

Rama : Dhanyavaad Gurudev , main aapka kritagya hoon jo aapne meri baat ka maan rakha . !!!!

Sita : Swami , yeh kis vishay mein charcha ho rahi hai ?

Ram : Sitae , main aapke ishaare samajh gayaa tha , jo baat aap mujhse itne samay se kehne ka prayaas kar rahi thin , wahi baat maine gurudev ki sayata se Pitashri aur Maharaaj janak ke saamne rakhi . Ab aapko kabhi bhi apni behenon se door nahi rehna padega , charon rajkumarian ab ayodhya ki vadhu banengi.

Sita was overjoyed with excitement and emotions, which were hard for her to control , and bent forward to hug Rama ,

Rama was a bit shocked and signalled her the presence of elders there .

She stopped midway , her face red in embarrasement .

The rishis left , leaving rama and sita alone with the kings and their wives .

Sita was embraced by her father, mother and chacha- chachi

Janak : Sita , though we have agreed to the proposal , I want you to personally ask your siblings if they dont have any reservations against their marriage , after all i dont want marriages be forced on them .

Sita ( in her thoughts ) : Pitashree ko shayad gyat nahi ki unki shesh teen putriyaan bhi apni badi benen ke samaan pehle hi ayodhya ke rajkumaron ke saamne apna dil haar chukki hain !!!

Then King dahrath came forward to embrace his son with a Hug

Dashrath ( Speaking gently in Rama Ear's ) : Putra , shayad tum bhool gaye ki hum bhi ayodhya ke maharaaj hain , apne aur aas pas ke rajyon ki saari jaankari hoti hai hamein , toh kya apne charo putron ke bare kuch nahi pata hoga kya ? Woh teeno mere putra pehle , tumhare bhai baadme hain. Mujhe sab dikh raha tha ki hamari peeth piche kya chal raha hai mere putron aur mithila ki rajkumariyon ke beech ...

Rama ( Giving a horryfing look to dashrath ) : Pitashree , aap bhi ...

Sita : chaliye swami , vatika mein chaltein hain , main daasiyon ko bhejkar baaki sabko wahin par bulwa loongi , wahin par baat karenge.

It was afternoon , at the Garden , Ram And Sita Broke the news to Bharat-Mandavi and Shatrughan Shrutkirti , and the proposals were accepted almost instantaneously .

Sita ( In a joyous mood ) : Now , that was a surprise , I never thought you were going to accept that easy. !!! ( Sita winked at her sisters with a devilish look) .

Ram : Yes Sita , but dont forget that our most difficult task is still pending , both our firebrands will need a lot of convincing !!!

Just then then saw urmila squeaking through the garden pathway into the palace . Sita called her out .

Sita : Why are you in such a hurry , what have you done now . ( Sita was sure Urmilla had done something she would not approve of ).

Urmila : Ku... Kuch nahi didi , maine bhala kya kiya hai ( hiding her face from her elder sister )

Mandavi : u have done something and you cant lie to sia didi while facing her . I sense silence before the storm ,

Shatrughan ( Laughingly ): And Bhabi , the storm has approached ( as everyone looked towards the palace gates ) .

Lakshmana was standing right there , his face completely red , and his hand holding a large pot of water . He Roared in anger :

" Kahan hai woh dusht Rajkumari , Ayodhya ke rajkumar ke saath aisa dussahas ..." , as he made his way hurriedly towards his siblings.

Seeing him in such a mood , Ram and Sita came forward as Urmila hid behind Bharat and Mandavi , except urmila everone was trying to control their laughter

sita ( teasingly ) : Lakshman Bhayia , aapka chehra itna laal kaise hai kya hua ?

Lakshmana gulped down half the pot of water right in front of them , took a huge breath , and began speaking:

Lakshman : Dekhiye Bhabi , aapki behen ne kya haal kiya hai mera . Veh bjojan Laayi thi mere liye ashram mein , Pata nahi bhojan mein mirch daali thi yah mirch mein bhojan. Aisa mazaak karna mithila ki rajkumari ko shobha deta hai ???

Shatrughan : Aur hum soch rahe the ki bhayia ka chehra kisi aur wajah se sharm se laal ho raha hai ( teasing him )

Lakshman ( angrily ) : Shatrughan , mere dhairya ki pariksha mat lo !!!

Just then Urmila popped out

Urmila : Huh ! , dhairya , woh bhi aap ke paas , ab mazaak kaun kar raha hai ( she teased him)

Lakshman saw her and made an attempt to run after her , being stopped by Ram In Between

Ram : Lakshman , shaant !!!

And these 2 words were enough to calm him down.

Bharat : Arey lakshman , vivaah ka maahol hai , yeh sab mazaak to chalta rehta hai, inhi kisson ko to ham yaad karke prasann honge baadmein.

Lakshman ( Pouting) : Bharat Bhayia , aapko agar gyaat ho jaye ki mere saath pichle do dino mein kya kya ghatit hua hai , to aapki aankhon mein aansu aa jaye . Jabse yeh urmila vidhikari bani hai, mujhe rajkumar se daas bana diya hai , Kabhi ye lekar aao , kabhi yeh karya karo , aur inki wajah se pitashree se mujhe daant bhi khani padhi .

Bharat : Aur aapne asisa kya kaarya kiya jiski wajah se yeh hua ?

lakshman : bhaiya woh.. hoh maine ..

Urmila : Arey aap kya bataeinge , main bataati hoon . Jijashree yeh mujhe Rakshasi Vidhikari ..Rakshasi Vidhikari kehkar chidha rahe the , aur maharaaj Dashrath ne yeh sun liya . Aur aage kya hua hoga , iska anumaan aap laga sakte hain.

Hearing this , none could control their laugh any longer and burst out.

Bharat : Dekh Rahe hain Ram Bhayia , hamare ayodhya ke chasmo chiraag , jinhe yudh mein koi paraast nahi kar paya ab tak , vah sita bhabhi ki behen se haarkar aa rahe hain.

Shatrughan : Lagta hai bhayia ko apni takkar ka mil hi gaya koi ..

Sita ( Caressing lakshman gently) : Bas bahut hua , ab koi mere devar ko nahi chidayega

Ram : Lakshman , ab iss teekhe bhojan ki aadat dal lo . Aur daas to ab tum hi nahi , ham charo bhai banne wale hain.

Hearing this , Sita blushed and her face red .

Sita : Aur urmila , ab aisee shararatein tumhe bhi band karni hongi , ayodhya mein ya sab nahi kar sakti tum .

Lakshman and Urmila both looked at each other , confused and trying to understand what their elder siblings were trying to convey.

Shatrughan : bhayia aapka aur rajkumari urmila ka vivah nishchit ho gaya hai !!!!

And instantly the pot of water fell from Lakshman's hand on his foot . He screamed Loud in pain . He was in a shock , which was quite a comical sight to see.

Urmila : Par didi ... parantu..

Mandavi : Kyun Urmila , kya tum vivaah nahi karna chahti unse .

Urmila blushed heavily , unable to show her face to anyone , and ran away to her chambers , with a huge smile on her face . She would always fight with him , but she knew she loved him , and the man of her dreams would now be with him forever.

Mandavi and shrutkirti too ran behind her to tease her .

Urmila's reaction to the proposal was quite convincingly a Yes . But one could not say with surity about the reaction which was recd was Lakshmana . He Kept standing there for long ,confused and shocked , Rama patted his head before he along with all others made their way into their rooms .

Later that evening , Urmila was still feeling restless , she was a bit scared oh her would be husband's reaction , she could not make out if he was happy with the wedding or not, and told about her fears to Sita . Seeing her in this state , Sita went to talk to Ram and they decided that all eight of them would meet after dinner in the gallery for a little get together , which would eventually lead to breaking the hesitation between the two .

Bharat and Shatrughan reached there after dinner . Soon all the princesses too arrived there.

mandavi : Prince bharat , Where are rajkumar Ram and Lakshman

Bharat ( giving an uneasy look towards Urmila ) : Mandavi , woh ..woh ...

Sita ( Looking tense ) : kya hua devar ji , sheeghra batayie , hamein chinta ho rahi hai ..

Bharat : Sita Bhabhi , Woh Ram bhayia Lakshman ki khoj mein gayein hain ,

Shrutkirti : Khoj mein gaye hain , arthath ?

Shatrughan : Ji lakshman bhayia kaafi samay se mahal mein nahi dikhe hain , bhojan karne bhi nahi aaye , pata nahi kahan chale gayein hai woh . Usi ke baare mein Ram

bhayia Arya sumant aur senapati Vijay se poochne gaye hain .., unhe avashya pata hoga

All became quite tensed , and the Ram came there with some news

Sita : Kya hua , pata chala kuch ?

Ram : Haan Sita , Poori tarh se to nahi , parantu kuch jaankari praapt hui hai . Vijay ne bataya hai ki Lakshman dopahar mein hi ati sheeghra mahal se chala gaya tha

apne ashva par apne shastron samet.

Urmila : Aur kya batayaa unhone ?

Ram : Ek patra aaya tha uske naam , jis par Angdesh ki Mohar lagi thi , patra padhne ke turant baad hi vah mahal se nikal gaya . Lakshman ne vijay se kaha hai ki va kal subah tak vaapas aa jaega , parantu kis kaaran gaya hai , yah nahi gyaat ho paya hai ... . Aur hamein yeh sab bataane se mana kiya tha usne vijay ko , taaki hamein chinta naa ho.

Bharat ( Angrily ) : Chinta kaise nahi hogi bhayia , Iss Lakshman ne to pratigya li hai ki apne bhayion ko chinta se hi aswashtha kar de ..

Ek baar ayodhya waapas pahunch jaaein , agar maine iski mata sumitra aur kaushalya se pitai nahi karvai ...toh mera naam bhi bharat nahi

Urmila ( Looking terrified ) : but why has he taken along weapons , is he going towards any danger , we should send our soldiers behind him.

Ram ( Gently placing his hand above her head) : Dont be afraid sister , since childhood I have never seen my little brother loose in a battle , there is no one on this earth who can defeat him , except of course you !!!

Urmila smiled a little on hearing this but was still nervous .

Bharat to His brothers: ( speaking very slowly ) : If its from angdesh , and the letter was specifically written for Lakshman , then it may be her who wrote it .

Ram ( nodding his face towards a no ) : No Bharat , it cant be , we must not discuss this before the girls.

Sita : What is it , Prince Ram , you can disclose everything to us freely , we are a family now .

Urmila : Yes , Yes , pls dont hide anything.

Shatrughan : Urmila Bhabhi , actually the Princess of Angdes is Brother's Lakshmana childhood friend , his best friend infact . When we were children , She often used to visit Ayodhya and she stayed the entire time with him , Maa & Pitashree and king of Angdesh often joked around that they would marry of Brother Lakshmna and princess dusshala one day .

Ram : shatrughan this is enough , dont scare her anymore !!! .

Shatrughan : Ok Ram bhayia , but one thing I must say , Urmila bhabi is so sweet , she always takes my side when lakshman bhayia and I fight , and that dussala , I dont like her at all , whenever she came , Brother Lakshman ignored me completely . She tried to create differnces between us . However , That being said , she was very beautiful though ( shatrughan said with a dreamy smile on his face , till he noticed Shrutkriti giving him a devilish look ).

Shrutkirti : Oh really , was she that beautiful , then why dont you marry her ...( with a grin on her face ) .

Others had a light hearted laugh on hearing this

Mandavi ( Teasing Urmila) : First Love is indeed tough to forget , isnt it Urmi ...??

Sita : Common Manadavi , dont start again , now its not the time ( and holded Urmila's hand tightly to reassure her )

Urmila was going more and more red with jealousy creeping inside her , thinking that he might have run away from the marriage.

Ram : Dont worry , sister Urmila , You heard what vijay said , lakshman will come by tomorrow morning.

( then he held her hand and said her reassuringly ) : I know my brother , I have seen immense respect for you in his eyes . he loves you too much and he is only yours,

sister. And that fool himself doesnt know that he is in love with you . You fight the most with the people you love and care about, isnt it ?

You all please disperse to your rooms , its getting late . Let him arrive tomorrow, and that boy is surely getting a good one from me then .

None could sleep that night , the sisters remained in the gallery awake , and the 3 brothers went near the palace gates to wait for lakshman .

Though Ram had reassured everyone , he himself was worried ,but he knew he could not display his emotions out.

Next Morning, the brothers noticed Lakshman arriving , looking tired and sitting half asleep on his horse . Sitting in front of him was a small 5 year old boy , Lakshman had carefully wrapped his arms around him to give him support . Behind him was another horse on which a beautiful lady was seated .

It Was none other than Their sister Shanta who had arrived with her son Rahul to attend the wedding ( Pls note: Rahul is the real name of Shanta's Son ).

The princesses too noticed from the gallery that Lakshmana had come back and all of them Ran in a frenzy downstairs , with Urmila leading the pack as her heart filled with joy.

Meanwhile at the palace gates , other three brothers greeted their sister and nephew .

Rama ( holding lakshman's ears tightly ) : Kab sudhroge tum , Bata nahi sakte the ki didi ko lene Jaa rahe Ho , kitne chintit the hum sab .

Lakshman : Bhayia meri galti nahi hai , didi aur rahul ke zid par aisa karna pada . Unhone mana kiya tha batane se.

Rahul : Ram Mama , aap chote mama par gussa na kijiye , varna veh mujhse rusht ho jaenge aur aage kabhi bhi meri baat nahi maanenge.

Ram ( holds rahul in his arms and kisses him on his cheeks ) : Aapki baat kaise taal sakte hum , par krodh karne ki baari to abi kisi ki aane waali hai.

Bharat : Aur hum na jaane kya kya soch kar baithe the , aur shatrughan ne to urmila se keh diya ki ... ( He stopped in between )

Lakshman to shatrughan : Arey shatrughan , mere bhai , ab kya kahaani suna ke aaye ho ?

shatrughan ( Pouting ) : Woh... bhyia , ek choti si bhool ho gayi .. , jab pata chala ki angdesh se patra aaya hai , to mujhe laga ki rajkumari dussala ke paas chale gaye aap , vivaah se bhaagkar , aur yeh sab rajkumarion ko bhi bol diya maine .

Lakshman : Yeh kya choti si bhool hai ...Arey moorkh , tum bhool gaye ki angdesh bhi Rajkumari ke elava bhi bohot log rehte hain, aur unme hamari didi aur Rahul bhi Hain . Aur Woh Rakshasi saare Haathi Ghode lekar mujhpar chadh jaaegi ( Lakshman tensed) .
