On wiki page on GEL it says dat adeel kidnaps her n threatens to ruin her self respect if she doesn't marry him. But he never threatened her. She married him somewhat willingly without much protest n hue n cry. She didn't even attempted to run away. Den how does he threatened or forced her? pls explain.

He never threatened to ruin her self respect. He just kidnapped her and forced her to marry him. He made her sign the nikkah papers forcefully.

Even though, I dont watch this show, but how in the world does this makes it's any better? I don't think this marriage is valid, isn't in Islam marriage is not considered marriage if it's forced on one party. It was to be consensual on both sides.

It worries me what Pakistani dramas are showing and how it's going to effect the audience especially the young generation.

It isn't justified at all. I totally agree with you. Yes, they are giving out the wrong message but then people like us know that this is all fiction but it will definitely affect the mind of masses.
Islam has give full right to women to say no, but even if the girl is forced the nikkah is still valid in the society's eyes. They would never understand such things.

Here on forum or let's say some out there do see it's fiction but still.. not everyone can differentiate between fiction and reality. Here, in UK... I have loads of Indian and english friends too and some of them watch Pak dramas and a lot of times I get questions asked why in your dramas they always show women crying, sacrificing, why there are more than one marriages (I get this question asked the minute they know I am from Pak or I am Muslim). I feel so bad, what to say, what to explain?

Also, they don't think it's a drama or fiction, instantly religion is being dragged and they ask.. ohhh.. is this what your Islam teaches you? This is how to treat women? When I try to explain religion teaches the opposite they are shocked and ask me then why are the dramas showing this?

I am fed up with Pak dramas now and I am literally disliking everyone who are like GER drama or any drama like this.

I think it's high time people separate religion and society and start doing what religion teaches us, not society.

Even i don't like this drama..It is sending a very wrong message..
Forced marriage
Marital Rape(some say he didn't raped her..ok..but he changed her clothes🥱 )Honestly i don't find any big difference btw these two..
She stopped her studies.
He ruined her character infront of his father.
As per novel he gonna change and both end up together..
Bitter truth is Men like adeel will never change.

@Bold - HE DID WHAT??😲😲😲 Was it with her consent or without? I think by your sentence it means non-consensual.😲 OMFG... what the hell is wrong with people?

You are right, that's novel but in reality it's a curse to have a man like this. Death better than that! I cannot believe how people are glued to this drama/story?

If Rana truly does forgive him and ends up with him that is the worst ending and a complete wrong message to send to women out there.😒

@DEDE
women are treated unequal every where. when it came to keep women oppressed society used customs and when that did not work used religion. Honestly it has no religion or country that has been better. Some are open and some are closet cases. USA world's biggest and so called liberal country gave rights to vote for women way later than men. we as a nation voted black president before voting for women just to show its still boys club here.
as to multiple wives is a way something that worked in a days of war when all moguls were going from turkey /north to fight in india on feet and would return less than half and werent home for lots of the years due to wars. Burkha and multiple wives were created to avoid harrassment from few left off men in town and lots of widows survival. now this was said in the name of religion because people will believe it and obey it with out opposing it but now after so many decades later women also feel that is ok because its allah's order and men feel privileged gender. women are working and can survive with out men ever than before but our total social thinking has yet to evolve. religion was made to better social norms. police and jails were not there for social causes in society .. you tell person god said be good,do good and be fearful of wrong doing. it worked for then society for the most part. woman need to educated and smell the coffee . not need to be on fights and wars at home over this but we can change by one day at time by changing things for young girls and doing right by them. Education is the key to all and sometimes just use common sense. How can god tell anyone to have four wives and women can not even use their peripheral vision in burkha... is god really unfair/bias to women ? maybe he is a man too. ...
this is the time think out side of what was written in BC ages and apply it in today age.
