So, I decided to spare you all my ranting today about the episode. Instead, I want to focus on the music of Tashn-E-Ishq. I'm from East Coast USA; we recently had a blizzard which meant no school. But, instead of taking time to catch up on my assignments, I listened to the Tashn-E-Ishq jukebox (https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=qM3Ut0OkWPQ) on loop for the whole day. Now, I started watching this show in 2016 (January 1st was my first time) so I'm unsure if I am accurate or not but as per my understanding Bas Itni Si Tamanah Hai is used as the "ship" song for Yuvraj & Twinkle while Aaja Sajne Ve is for Kunj & Twinkle (because I haven't heard the former played for Kunj-Twinkle so I tried to deduce...if I'm wrong...I don't know...). But, I think the wonderful people who coordinated the music for this TV show did an excellent job. Each song reflects the respective couple perfectly as well as Twinkle's growth.

Bas Itni Si Tamanah Hai
Fun. Passionate. Enthusiastic- these are the words that come to my mind when I think of the seven year relationship between Twinkle and Yuvraj. They were young and in love pretending to hate each other. It was a secretive love affair which added an element of thrill and adrenaline to everything. I mean think of your first love or first relationship; it's usually more playful and "intense", you think this person is your one true love, the only one for you (of course, time usually shows you differently). I think "Bas Itni Si Tamanah Hai" represents that. If you compare the voice of the singers too, it shows.

The first line says: "Bas itni si tamanna hai/Tere rang mein hi rang jaun". For Twinkle, all she wanted was to be Yuvraj's and vice versa. It was something she hid from her mom but when time came she was ready to elope for Yuvraj. It goes on to say: "Rahun main zara mujh mein/
Teri ho ke hi reh jaaun/Kissi se na kahan hai jo/Tumhi se baat woh keh dun
". At this point, it seemed to me as if Twinkle's world revolved around Yuvraj. I recall watching a promo where she made pizza for him but she burnt her hand. Everything she did was for him. Leela and Twinkle's bond is so beautiful and so strong yet she lied for so long to her mother for him. The song also says: " Mujhse na door jaa/Iltazaa hai meri ". This reminds me of when Twinkle went back to Yuvraj to talk about their relationship but he was having a break up party. Despite all that had happened, she loved him enough to go back. I won't continue posting more lyrics (I don't think I'm explaining myself clearly...hope everything before this made sense though) but the point is I think this song works so well for what Yuvraj and Twinkle had. It was a first love- passionate, deep but not mature. It was when Twinkle lived in her own world- wearing jeans, hanging out, being carefree, being "childish". If you compare the voice of the singers too, it shows too.April Chakrabortty sings Bas Itni Si Tamanah Hai and her voice is more "young" and high than Mamta Raut who sings Aaja Sajna Ve. The background music is also more simplistic showing the one-dimensionalness of this relationship.

Aaja Sajna Ve
Kunj and Twinkle share the bond of marriage. It's so much more than her relationship with Yuvraj because while that relationship was longer, it was not mature. Kunj and Twinkle's relationship is governed by them facing trials and tribulations, being there for each other, comforting each other, supporting each other.

One thing I noted in this song was that it directly addressed the person it was singing to. It said "Sajna". I think it shows that this new relationship for Twinkle means taking steps with her husband, keeping him in the picture all the time. It says: "Rooh Mein Shamil Tujhe Karloon". Embedding someone in your very soul is extremely deep, strong and permanent; it's when you have accepted them wholesouled for the rest of your life. Compared to the other song where it states "Tere rang mein hi rang jaun"; when you coordinate yourself to someone's likings or their "rang" it can change which indicates that Kunj and Twinkle's relationship has a stronger foundation. They don't want to change themselves for the other but they want to become a part of one another. Another thing I noted was that God was mentioned in this song. I'm Christian and my religion states that marriage is a threefold cord between God, the husband and wife. While this is not a Christianity based song, I think by including God (even fighting Him for the other person ("Jhindadi Mitake Rab Se/Main Hasil Tujhe Karlun") it adds another dimension, more maturity to this new bond. It reminds me of Twinkle praying to her Babaji so she can fix her marriage. The next line: "Tere Liye Main Jag Chad Doon". This correlates to how Twinkle is ready to leave her house, her mom behind so Kunj can marry Maya. Another line says "Ishq Da Rang Rang Loon" compared to "Tere rang mein hi rang jaun". This new relationship, for Twinkle, is more about staying true to love and adhering to love's qualities (like being self-sacrificing). Most importantly, this song has a male voice. It shows that Kunj is here to stay unlike Yuvraj who was insincere in the relationship.

This is so long. I'm so so sorry- I got carried away ( ._.). If you stayed to the end, bless your heart, thank you...let me know what you think.

Can you plz explain the male version of Sajna be a little plz? Actually sometimes I feel its both Kunj n Yuvi's POV but thats not true I think,

"Mere haatoon ki lakeeroon mein naam tera hai" it perfectly suits Kunj but "Tera ishq naseeboon mein kar lu" is it Kunj's POV? I mean she is his already so I am a little confused

Again "Banke khawab nigahoon mein meri tehra hai" is it Kunj's POV? She is not his dream she is his reality right?

You are my new favorite person. Our thinking is so alike. BTW how bad are the blizzards? And I agree with everything you've said. Bas itni si tamanna hai represent YuvLe because it brings with it a sense of immaturity and childishness. Despite how beautifully the song is sung, the lyrics give a feeling of one-sidedness. Also it's a solo female so it once again shows us that Twinkle's love for Yuvi was only one-sided. This is where I say sorry for the long comment because I'm prpbably going to rant for another minute or so. Sorry it's a bad habbit of mine. Sajna ve is perfect for Twinj because as you said it has a great deal of maturity not only in voice but it lyrics too. It being a duet also represent a bond between the Twinkle and Kunj as they are bith trying. It shows that here when love blooms it'll have both of them. Okay so that's it. I probably could go on for hours and hours writing about this but I don't want to bore you and I have classes now. I'm really glad you made this post because TEI soundtrack is really beautiful.
