If you go by one version, it was one sided, Guru's depression made worse by Waheeda's aloofness and Geeta's extremely suspicious behavior brought on by insecurity..

If you go by another version, Waheeda was the cold blooded woman who used Gurudutt to advance her career. She wanted Gurudutt to marry her after converting to Islam. But Gurudutt though loved her was not committed to converting into another religion...
