Shah Rukh Khan Turns Down Imtiaz Ali

Shah Rukh Khan Turns Down Imtiaz Ali

It takes a lot to impress Shah Rukh Khan. The Tamasha director, Imtiaz Ali, who narrated a script to King Khan lately, has been politely told to come up with something more appropriate.

Since the script left SRK cold, the collaboration between the actor and the director, has fallen through.

Until SRK approves of an entirely different script altogether, Imtiaz Ali's ambition to work with the actor will remain a pipedream.

Ali had made statements that his next project would most probably topline Shah Rukh Khan. Plus the director had made all the politically correct noises that he has been an admirer of his performances, particularly in Darr and Kabhi Hanh Kabhi Na.

Now that SRK has nixed the script, unconfirmed reports are doing the rounds that Imtiaz Ali's next will feature Ranbir Kapoor opposite Alia Bhatt.

An interesting combination that for sure. The only thing is that it can be believed only when the project is confirmed by Ranbir Kapoor, who has earned accolades galore for his inspired performances in Ali's Rockstar and Tamasha but failed to bring in the audience as per expectations on both counts. We hear- Ali , Tamasha producer Sajid Nadiadwala and Ranbir have had some serious differences on the sky-high price which Tamasha was sold to distributors. Of its Rs 100-plus crore budget Tamasha still has to attain the recovery of its investment.

He will make another non sense abt the protagonist "trying to find himself".So tired of the same crap shown in different forms.

What is Imtiaz looking for?

It wasn't going to happen after Tamasha. I bet Imtiaz just wrote the same story of a 50 year old finding himself late in life or something.
On the other hand, Anand Rai is highly likely.

I still believe Imtiaz and SRK would have made a great team. Now when I think of it, Imtiaz made his worst movies with Ranbir IMO. I really really loved SNT, jab we met, love aaj kal and Cocktail (he wrote the story). Yes and I liked Highway too. On the other hand, Rockstar was a snoozefest and I haven't seen Tamasha. Nor do I intend to.
