Few good things about Pakistani dramas

They have end in sight.
Actors are not over worked for years , 6 days a week show for unaccounted numbers of years.
Since they are possibly scheduled for few months of shoot, there is no body double.
They look fresh with out overdone makeup ,wigs.
Number of characters are limited so each one has story or importance to character. There is a scope of acting and speaking.
They r not living in a family like a suraj barjatya film. ( all extended family and close friends in one house all the time)
There are no holidays and wedding sequences that take up a month worth of show.

Not bashing Indian soaps but these are few obvious good and ugly of dramas. Stories are bound to be some what repeat since they are running out of scripts for 18 hrs worth of entertainment by multiple Chanel's. Most good actors are trying to do movies.

There are some other points too .Like,
They end shortly .
Stories are based on realities.
We can watch them with whole family except One or two serials .
They have wonderful OSTs .
Story Moves Rapidly
Etc

Agree
What scares me the most is that most of the stories are way to close to reality and serials/dramas are different from one another. Very seldom have I seen a drama which reminded me one another.
Or maybe im just picky when it comes to dramas, so i never really came across the same sort of story.
Also as mentioned they are close to reality i do not know whether im the only one, but there are way to many dramas or characters you feel like you know already because either you know a family member or you know someone who experienced something similar to the drama you are watching, or even experienced something similar youself.

While in indian serials i dont feel like they are near reality and they ALLL somehow remind me each other.
I do not watch indian dramas AT ALL now i used to because we had channels, they are a complete waste of time, even the ones i have watched i have regretted so much, not only because the stories didn't make sense but after spending so much time on it, you gain nothing, its just waste of time.

indian drama has no reality touch and god forbid if it did , heavy jewlery, make up and added masala would just kill it. they r drama and it needs a little tolerable, digestable dose of masala.
for ex zarun"s dad in ZGH ... is there a man in pakistan as liberal as him?? none i bet but that is ok doable by making his character dream come true for all women in the world. wonderful and loving guy .
i watched 10 minute of Iqbal khan drama on sony and had to stop over dose of too nice that looked fake. love Iqbql khan but i am not sure will be able to watch ???

I completely understand what you are saying about the "overdose of nice" but like Zaroon's dad being dream come true, that is what PHJD (MIK's new show) is for me..lol I know it's probably not happening, but a girl can dream ;) Its probably for another month or so, because then I probably won't be able to take it in either.. haha

The best part is even if the situations are repeated, they are executed differently, which makes them enjoyable.

@ bold, i dont know whether i should say ufortunately/fortunately there is. It really depends on which society you live in.

There are societies that are veerrryy liberal while others are complete opposite. Me and my friends always discuss that us ppl living in europe are actually more conservative than ppl living in pakistan these days.
I guess our parents are more protective because we live in another country.
Nowadays thngs i see and hear about pakistan i can tell you that they are way more liberal than many of us living in europe.

@lost indreams
you are correct in saying that us living out side of the mother country are more rooted to the original idealogy of culture then the current natives. the reason for that is that the changes in what ever country we r from happened for good or bad we missed it. most of my family is stuck on india from early to mid 80's. things have changed since then but it just not easy to accept for someone who has left behind all of their memories.
the thinking of male domination has not changed world wide not only where ever we r from ... he was shown so sweet, friendly, and easy going father, husband ...
