Ting Ti ding Tin Tin Tin Ting Ti ding...Chahe tum kuch naa kaho... Maine sun liya...Vrushika thought she was dreaming...ever since she had decided to drown herself in work & intentionally avoid thinking about Him... He had started turning up in her dreams...They didn't talk in her dreams... All they did was dance...On that same song...again & again...She woke with a start... it isn't a dream...her phone is ringing...she had fallen asleep on shiro who was drenched in her tears....She gathered her bearings...she rarely ever heard this customised ringtone...It was Him!Her heart was beating frantically...Being so physically far away He still had this effect on her...Sometimes during scenes when He would come close to her it would beat so fast she was sure He could hear it too...Even the thought made her blush...No Vrushika...Not anymore...Just friends...She answered the callVrushika : "Hello"Shantanu: "Hi"*silence*" umm What's up with your voice?"Vrushika: "I was sleeping..."Shantanu: "ohhh okayyy..." "...So tell me...Chocolate fudge, Chocolate brownie, Chocolate almond or plain chocolate?Vrushika: "Huh?"Shantanu: "Forget it I'll get what I like..." "Where are you?"Vrushika: "Home"Shantanu: "Okay come down in 10 mins we are going to maccy's place"Vrushika: "What why? ?... But I have an early morning call time tomorrow..."Shantanu: "Come fast I am waiting"& for the first time..He hung up the phone.She was panicking... What was she going to do? He was here...He was really here...She was going to see Him again...The joy...No...No...No...No...No...Get a grip...Just friends...Should she avoid Him...make some excuse...?...But what excuse can she give?...He is so assertive...She won't last a minute...What could be a good enough excuse to avoid HIM...mental shutdown...? heart failure...? ...Who is She kidding... She can never avoid Him...He was waiting outside Her building for 15 mins now... Will She come?She has to come...He pulled out the phone to call Her back.She had sounded really off ...on the phone... He has to see Her...Is She OK?? ...but before He unlocked the screen...She was standing in front of Him"What were you talking about Shantanu??"Finally...He took a deep breath... and exhaled loudly......Hearing Her say His name felt like... It felt like...home...She was again wearing that black confession scene dress...She thought He didn't notice......He noticed everything...He always notices everything..."We are going to meet up at maccy's place to watch the finale episode, so let's go. Ma'am will also be there...""No...actually...I...umm.." she hesitated, "Did Ma'am ask you to pick me up?""No... I mean... yeah... we all thought that since you were not there with us In LA...you know...... We can at least share that moment together Now..."Her heart flipped at that line......He mentally scolded himself & immediately covered up his fumble..."The entire D3 gang...I mean...everyone is coming..." Her face fell......See...she told herself...just friends......Internally he cursed himself for being such a brat...They sat in the car & He opened the box of assorted chocolates & chocolate flavoured pastries that He had got for Her ...to cheer Her up...He handed it to Her......A smile appeared on Her face...spreading a sense of warm relief in His entire body..."Why all this??" she asked abruptlySuddenly he found himself struggling for a logical answer..."...Nowadays our wellwishers don't send us chocolates so I thought we should only get some...It's been long since we had chocolates...right? "Whoah...that was close shantanu...nice cover-up...he thought to himself."It's been long since 'YOU' had chocolates Shantanu... I have them daily..." "Okay then keep them back...we will share it with the gang""My chocolates" she pouted kiddishly, holding on to them tightly ... my special chocolates- she thought to herself...there was no way she was going to share them with anybody...after all... for the first time HE had got chocolates for Her...She was planning to savour each & every one of them..."...leave some for me Vrushika... or else your satrangi sasural will think what a fat bahu they have got...""Youuu...Shut up..." She hit him hard on his back...He started laughing... Her patent dialogue......thoughtlessly His hands moved to His hair & He started ruffling them... setting them in place......and She kept gazing at Him...like He was a sight to behold......Seeing Him laugh was the best feeling in this world for her...He kept teasing Her some more and pretty soon they were both bursting with laughter...In the midst of all that laughter He looked at Her...their eyes met... and She caught a breath... ...The look in His eyes was not apologetic like she had expected... ...it was genuine...innocent...naughty......like nothing had happened... ...like no one else existed in the world other than Her for Him......And in that moment she knew... ...Everything she saw on TV that day was a lie......He still belonged to Her... He will always belong to Her...Solace...it was the only thing that filled Him at that moment......nothing had changed in those eyes for Him......They still held that trust...that love...He realised He had been staring into Her eyes for way to long......Too long for socially acceptable standards of "Just friends"...He broke the eyelock...She went back to Her chocolates...Blushing...Nimit's call came as a saviour at that very moment..."Dude where are you??""we both are reaching in an hour""We? As in?""As in I'll text you"Palki maam was cursing at Maccy..."Where is Shantanu? "Almost everyone had turned up by now.Nimit: "I just called him...both are on their way"Palki maam: "Both?? Who?? Shantanu &??"Nimit's phone beeped at that precise moment...A smile spread across Nimit's face reading the four words in that textMe & My Girl ;-)"Vrushika"-- He answered palki ma'am... "Shantanu & Vrushika are on their way..."
