The music composer fought a tough battle with cancer...
Aadesh Shrivastava was detected with blood cancer and relapsed for the third time. He was survived by his wife and former actress Vijayata Pandit. He has two sons Anivesh and Avitesh who are currently Aadesh's wife's only support system. Talking to a leading daily Aadesh's wife said that the doctors gave up on his health and while back. During his final days Aadesh's brother Lalit Pandit has been by his side, apart from his immediate family. Aadesh's old friendShah Rukh Khan also wrapped up Dilwale shoot to drop by the hospital and meet the composer. Aishwarya Rai Bachchan also visited the music director.
But Aadesh did not receive this kind of support from his peers and the industry in general when he was detected with cancer for the first time around. Back in 2011, when Aadesh was detected with cancer he told a leading daily in an interview that the film fraternity abandoned him during his difficult time. He said, "Falling ill so suddenly was traumatic. But the cold-shoulder treatment I got from the people with whom I've closely worked with for years, has caused me even more damage than the disease itself. Nobody came to visit me after I fell sick."
Even back then Aadesh deeply resented his so called friends from the industry for not standing by him during his time of need. He had to sell his favourite car in order to pay the hospitals bills but none of his industry friends got his back during his time of financial crisis. He was quoted by the daily saying, "I sold it at a throwaway price. I wanted my family to be with me. I'm a very emotional person. If a friend needs me, I will run at 2 am to help. Where were all my friends during the worst time of my life?"
Willing to put the horrid past behind him after having found who his true friends in the industry were, Aadesh signed off saying, "I went through unbearable pain, but the worst is over. I want to get back to work with a vengeance."
The loss is truly tragic and even though nothing can make this situation better for the family of the departed, we find some solace in the fact that the industry tried to remedy the past by being more kind and supportive to Shrivastava during his final days.
