Popular actor Himmanshoo Ashok Malhotra, who recently took the Nach Baliye 7 trophy home, is now all set to be seen on a daily soap.

Our source informs us, "Himmanshoo has been roped in as a parallel lead for Life Ok's newly launched medical drama Ek Nayi Ummeed...Roshni. He will now be paired opposite Pooja Gor on the show. Nikhil (Sahil Anand) will soon be seen flying to London in the upcoming sequences of the show."

We tried contacting Himmanshoo but he remained unavailable for comments.

Himmanshoo is all set to play Dr Sameer in the series

Himmanshoo Malhotra, who is currently riding high on his successful win in Nach Baliye 7, has more than one reason to celebrate. Apparently the recently married actor is all set to star opposite Pooja Gor in Roshni.

Confirming the news to a leading daily, Himmanshoo said that he plays a character of Dr Sameer who is a smart but arrogant guy. He further explained that his character is tough but just. "If a person needs treatment, he needs to pay up. But Dr Sameer will utilise the money to help the poor," he explained.

It would indeed be interesting to see how Himmanshoo layers his character. We are also keen on watching how the love between Pooja Gor and Himmanshoo will unfold, slowly on screen.

Himmanshoo recently won the celebrity dance competition Nach Baliye 7 with his wife and Marathi actress Amruta Khanvilkar. While speaking about this victory, he said that Nach Baliye gave him a big platform to showcase his hidden talent and his colleagues started respecting him even more after his big victory.

In fact I had a hope to see Arhaan Behll playing a doctor opposite Pooja in this show. Arhaan's father is a doctor..and I am sure Arhaan knows a lot about the profession.

From what Mona was talking about Dr. Sameer yesterday, he seems to be a genius but tough person.
