Spot on. Where have all the real issues gone? Pakistani dramas are so good at bringing reality to their dramas but lately too many are focusing on a guy and two girls liking the same person or the guy is married to two women it's absolutely pathetic.

Naveen Waqar is right when she said that a lot of the content nowadays is the same, no wonder she's very choosy.

and coming to dusri biwi..it was the worst drama i have ever seen..😡

Thanks for commenting Fiza :)

I personally didn'nt relly watch the show properly.. But whatever I did made me feel so annoyed n worried about what they are showing.. The main problem to me is that it does NOT happen in real life. If we are happily married the way they showed in initial episodes of the same show, one just can't do a doosri shadi like that.. !? N then the whole story continues n blaah..

TV has become too formulaic nowadays. One show with a certain theme becomes a hit and BAM! All across of every channel we start getting the same theme shows with the same kind of acting, characters, situations. Buss thoda sa change kar lete hain. Before the Doosri Biwi trope there was a bharmaar of Two Sisters Loving One Guy trope. It is still there in the dramas but with less intensity.

Ask the producers why they are doing this and we get the answer - TRP. Jo bikta hai, wo hi chalta hai. Two wives, zaalim saas, mazloom bahu, sisters hating on each other, shukk, extra marital affairs etc...these themes sell to the TRP audience it seems. So we only get stuff like these all across the TV with the claims ke log yehi dekhna chahte hain. Funny thing is, when these shows are over..no one remembers them.

TV has become such an economic medium that no one is really interested in doing quality work anymore. Apart from a few actors who only want to do quality work, everyone else is on the bandwagon to do more and more. Quantity over quality has become the thing for them. Same faces with the same stories are plastered all over the TV.

And it's not like repeating themes is a bad thing. Interpreting them in the same way is what messes things up. It all boils down to how the writer makes use of the trope. But then again, the lazy factor comes in again. Rather than writing intriguing characters in the same situation, we get wohi same se characters in same se situations. How can it make any impact then?

Pakistani TV used to be GREAT. It completely took over the Indian TV which had ruled the country for many years. On the same day in the same time slot, we used to get such a variety of dramas ke confuse hojate the ke kya kya dekhen? There was always something good airing on every day. But now? Everything is just the same.

No media is separate from the society. Television specially for it reflects the society, it takes people from the society, situations from the society. Entertainment doesn't mean that the things shown on TV have people and situations from Mars. I am not against entertainment, I am always a mainstream entertainment fan than of the artsy kind of shows. But for God's sake, show some solid, memorable entertainment.

Thanks for giving such a detailed reply :)

Coming to what u said, we both agree on the same point. All this faltu ki cheezen they show for TRPs only.. Like I just don't understand it.. Even without getting these 'attention seekers' stories, they can have a big number of TRPs.. Best recent example is Piya Mann Bhaye.. I remember watching it as a whole with the whole familipy with FULL interest.. It had nothing that typical.. Phir bhi it used to get highest TRPs among GeoTV shows..

The problem isn't with the actors, they are supposed to do what they are asked for.. Itz a team work ! Firstly, writers should think properly before they write the story n characters especially.. producers shouldn't invest that much in that kind of script.. Then actors should take decision wisely..

Situations from the society is what we need to watch n they should show as well.. But there should be some reality too in it na !? I don't know may be aisa hota ho duniya mein.. But then one can show positive sides of it.. Or show something to sort that matter out.. That my help society..

I don't even remember which doosri biwi show was so popular that it has become a monotonous trend now

LOL.. I know.. Itz not that they ONLY show doosri shaadi 😆 itz just that we hav an overdose of it n thatz horrible.. -____-

I think first this concept was this that a couple is living happily but they have no child.. So the guy marries another woman so that she can deliver their child n blaah... This was the concept few years back.. But then.. Rang hi badal gaye logon k 😆

This one having girl being kidnapped n then her family not believing her n blah can be copied OK.. But show it in a better way.. Like the guy DOES trust her.. N stand by her at any cost..do marry her, respect her like before.. Coz for me, if u decided to marry someone, itz when u know him better.. N u show trust in him/her.. But showing that after any such incident on wedding day of before wedding.. Guy too steps back is soo dangerous to show.. People CAN follow that in real life too.. N it scares me so much..

But i have noticed when we make on a different concept ppl find it hard to accept. Like the drama Zid i know it was wierd. But the concept was actually really good, today we see girls who are confused about what they actually want i have seen it myself.
Girls nowadays are actually ruining their relationship with their partner because they have started to prioritize other things like job, friends, boyfriends more then their actual family.
They want to run away from their duties and want to live their life fullest, and let them be.
Generally my point is the drama was about a girl who was confused about her life, she had evrything, but still not satisfied with what she had. At the same time girls in the drama were all confused.
This drama was actually very different from other shows, but alot of ppl didn't like it.

^ I haven't seen the show.. it didn't attract me much.. but many lied it as u mentioned.. I don't know about the story, but if it was different n nicely picturized then why not.. People have their own opinions regarding it..

Different concepts are welcomed.. but yeah I agree that we as viewers are not ready to accept concepts other than family drama.. Online viewers i.e. us, have completely different POV about the concepts of projects.

Dayaar e Dil is about family n relationships as well but see the beauty of it.. how gorgeous that show is written.. Story is simple.. drama bhi hai.. but itz such a pleasure to watch.. this is needed to give sukoon to viewers if they want to give us that in form of entertainment.

Recently, the show Muqaddas is on same bridal kidnapping subject. Theme is the same but I am GLAD they maintained some decency in it.. The guy IS standing by the girl .. not like what happened in Mere Khuda.. #Pathetic 😵 Finally the bride's family n her husband finally supports her.. thatz why it is liked by viewers too.

Okay so what will be your reaction if the husband is the kidnapper & raped her for revenge. This is not sure but I am guessing the story though.
