Playing mythological characters is a risky
affair. The actors often run the risk of being
stereotyped. But some actors have
successfully attempted mythological roles
without jeopardising their career. They
have milked the opportunity to their benefit.

Mohit Raina: Mohit Raina took the small screen by
storm when he appeared as lord Shiva on
Life OK's mythological show, Devon Ke
Dev...Mahadev. His character, Mahadev,
was appreciated by everyone. He ruled
millions of hearts with his personality and
carved a niche in the television space.
Hardworking and sincere efforts by the
actor made him popular with the audience.
So much so, that it was rumoured that
Bollywood actress Priyanka Chopra's aunt
was keen to get her niece married to him.
Reports also suggest that Mohit has been
offered Bollywood movies and is waiting for
the right script before giving his nod. While
the show has wrapped up, we must admit
that Mohit indeed made for the most
handsome Shiva.
