Zain's POV
Huh! This place is really beautiful. Dad, u r seriously amazing. I can't believe this is all by his efforts, some r mine too I won't neglect. But this is way above. But this interview gal, where is she?
"Mr. Abdullah?"
"Yes?"
"Ms. Haider has arrived. Shall I send her in?"
"Yes. Pls do."
Outside Zain's Cabin
Abdullah Offices
Aaliya's POV
I knew it! I knew which type of guy this Abdullah is. All the blondies work here. I am sure that he is only physical appearance deprived. God!
"Ms. Haider?"
"Yes."
"Would you like something? Tea or coffee? Mr. Abdullah might take time."
"I'd prefer some water, please." I say to the receptionist who further orders a gal sitting over the desk next to her and then she runs off into the pantry-like place. I look around the office. It's well decorated. Seems like this Abdullah guy, he really likes the colour 'blue'. Oh god! Blue! I look down at my dress.
"It's funny to know Ms. Haider."
"To know what?" I ask.
"That you are wearing the exact same shade of blue that Mr. Abdullah likes." Dammit! I just knew this. What do I do now? I don't want anyone to think I am wearing this to impress him. It's just a coincidence you people! Can't coincidents happen with poor people too?
"I-"
"Mr. Abdullah will see you now." Another blondie comes and asks me.
"Yeah, okay. Thank you."
"My pleaure, Ms. Haider."
Zain's Cabin
Aaliya's POV
"Mr. Abdullah.. Ms. Haider." The blondie introduces me to whatever Abdullah guy who stands there facing the windows. Actually there were no walls. Except one side. It was an open glass walled cabin. Cabin? It was larger than my parent's house!
"Pls sit down." Abdullah guy orders me.
"Okay. I-"
"Grace, you may leave. Thank you." Grace! That's what her name is!
"Sure Mr. Abdullah." Grace walks out.
"Ms. Haider.. you'd like to ask me something?" I ask all sorts of questions Yasmin had told me to ask. I askd him where he lived when he was young, what all sorts of business plans he had in further life. What all he liked being rich businessman. And he answered them all very much honestly, walking to and fro, not settling down of a moment. When my questions finished, he looked at me for a moment. Then settled down on a chair beside me. "Tell me more about you."
"Me?" I say really surprised. Why does he want to know about me?
"Yes. You. I want to know about you. What are your plans after college?"
"Umm.. not very much I suppose. I hv applied for a few places."
"Ms. Haider, we also hire some journalists for our financial reports, so you'd like to give a try or you have much better offers? I mean the choice is yours."
"Thank you."
"It's my pleasure. So anything more?"
"There's nthng much to know about me. I mean, look at me"
"I am" He says. If it would have been someone of my level, I would have thought he was hitting on me. But this guy, okay Zain, he can't hit on me! I mean for crying out loud, he has walking lolipops in his office and all above that he'd like a simple plain cough drop like me? Oh come on!
"I'd have to leave. It was nice meeting you."
"Nice meeting you."
"Thank you, Mr. Abdullah."
"Uh. Ms. Haider. I didn't catch your full name." He said.
"It's Aaliya Haider." As if he doens't remember!
"Oh.. Nice to meet you Aaliya. Zain Abdullah." He helds out his hand.
"Nice to meet you, too. Zain." I say after a pause and shake his hands.
Back At Aaliya's Room
Aaliya's POV
"It was a nice encounter Yasmin. Thanks."
"Did he ask you anything?"
"Yes, well.." I say after a pause "He askd me to tell him more about myself. I said there is nothing much to know about me. And then he said something that could have actually made me think he was flirting with me."
"Flirting with you? What did he say?"
"Umm.. I said look at me. I mean did I look that I am so interesting and have interesting plans in future? So he said i am. He was hitting on me!"
"Hmm. And he was also just curious."
"Curious about me? Yasmin, he has walking blondies."
"Blondies r his workers. You my friend, are real stuff."
"What do you mean 'real stuff'?"
"My friend, you are Aaliya Ghulam Haider. Do you remember, back in london, a guy named George was hitting on you like crazy each day?" Yasmin said.
"Yeah that George guy. Yasmin, that was that stupid ugly-looking George. Zain is way above that. He's handsome and smart. A millionaire in your case. And he's good at heart, as far as I can see. He's sweet to talk to. He is not rude at all. And well.. he's far-" I look at Yasmin's smirk. "Hey, I am not falling for him!"
"When did I say you were falling for him?"
"It's just mere attraction Yasmin. Don't take it too far in ur head."
"Oh really? Here you are speaking how great soul n 'sweet to talk' Abdullah guy is. And you r on first name basis with him. What do I take out of it then, Ms. Haider?"
"Nothing. Don't take anything out of it. Alright?"
"Hmm-mm" She says. "I am tired. Good night."
"Yeah, good night."
