How often does Kareena Kapoor Khan pick up a stick of ice cream?
Quite often! I love the classic Belgian chocolate flavour from Magnum. I think we all love that flavour, whether it is a six-year-old child or a 60-year-old. You cannot stop at one! Do you have a favourite ice cream memory?
I have always loved ice creams. I have loved different flavours... chocolate or vanilla. I have always been an ice cream girl. What's your favourite flavour?
Like a strawberry or something in summer.
How do you maintain your figure despite all that ice cream?
I am not having it every day. I do indulge, but I do work out a lot and I generally eat quite healthy. As a
person, I am like that. I indulge over the weekends. I eat exactly what I like. I wait for the weekend to start. Friday evening or Saturday, Sunday...Magnum has this concept of royalty treatment'. Who or what makes you feel royal?
The fact that I am a pleasure ambassador for Magnum makes me feel royal. What about Saif (Ali Khan)?
Yeah, of course! He naturally does. That's the way he is, but I don't think we look at it that way... a royal
family... Any outfit that makes you feel royal?
I generally love wearing saris. That's also what my personality is. I love it. So when I step into a sari, I definitely have that royal feeling. What's ultimate pleasure food and travel for you?
Apart from acting, food and travel are the other two passions in my life. I love to travel and experience different things. That's also part of my list. And I am a born foodie. There's nothing that can change it. I am always open to trying different cuisines. Nothing like a great pizza! I think that's the most pleasurable experience in any woman's life. The first bite of pizza! (Smiles) I like a plain margherita with lots of chillies. I love spicy food! What are your favourite travel destinations?
I think it would be London and Paris. I go to London more often. Whenever I go, there is that sense of belonging. I don't know why, it's a home away from home. Kareena in the Deme by Gabriella dress You recently turned heads in a super sexy Deme by Gabriella number that you wore to Zoya Akhtar's party. Can only Kareena Kapoor pull it off?
Nooo! It's because I think I have been doing a lot of physical training over the last three months. I did a song in Brothers (produced by Karan Johar and starring Akshay Kumar and Sidharth Malhotra). For that I lost about five kilos. That's what has made the difference. I have involved a mix of Pilates and TRX in my training process. That has really helped my body. It's toned a lot more. This is the after-effect of the song and people will see that in the song when it releases. So, you are hooked to Pilates and TRX now?
Yeah! Despite having a cold, I wanted to go to the gym but I had to come to Delhi. I'll rest tonight so that I have a great session in the morning. If I am not working and if I have meetings, I keep them post-12 so that before 12 I am done with my TRX session. That's a must for me. As the pictures showed, you had a great girls' night out! What's the recipe for a perfect GNO?
These days the paparazzi are all over and they make such a big deal about it. That's why I don't like to go out also! I am always having my girls' nights at home. I socialise very little. I don't go to film parties, but people I like in the industry, I go out of my way. My friends are always at home because I like entertaining at home. Everyone loves my home... the way Saif's done it up. Every weekend,
either Friday or Saturday, the girls come home or we always have Saif's friends over. It's a nice evening of good wine, good food and great
conversation. Is pizza a must if Kareena Kapoor Khan is throwing a party?
Actually, you know, if it's just the girls, then it's quite healthy! And if we are entertaining and Saif is also there, then there is a lot of meat because he loves meat and a lot of Italian food because he loves a lot of spaghetti. And music?
It's very eclectic and different
because when Saif is around, there is a lot of lounge and jazz... it could be Maroon 5, getting into slightly soft rock and then of course lots of rock. My personal taste is lots of jazz. And, when it's just the girls and me, then it's Lana Del Rey and you know everybody is playing from the Internet, YouTube... or Spotify is playing and stuff like that. It gets into a lot of music detail when Saif is around, but I love Dire Straits and The Doors. Mellow evenings. You have cut down on work drastically...
Not really... I think last year I did only Singham Returns because I personally wanted to do that. Sometimes you know, after 15 years of working, you need to sit back and think of what you really wanted to do... look at life from your point of view. I was doing up my house, the Pataudi Palace is being done up, the Bombay home is being done up... so, six-seven months went into that process. So, it was looking at life a little differently. But now that everything is settled, I am working quite as much. In fact, I think I am working quite a lot for any married woman. I am working with Salman (in Kabir Khan's Bajrangi Bhaijaan), in Udta Punjab (which also stars former boyfriend Shahid Kapoor)... then I am doing Raj Kumar's (the director of No One Killed Jessica) film... And I have 21 brands. So, it's like as much as it can get. But I also like a lot of personal time off. I love to travel and that's always been the case with me. That is not going to change. How's Bajrangi Bhaijaan shaping up?
Well, this is the first time I am working with Kabir (Khan). He is the reason I did this film. Salman and me have worked together before and people are waiting to see the Bodyguard pair back. But Kabir is the newness in the film. His kind of films are different from what the regular Salman films are. This also will have a lovely drama and twist to it and a very different film for Salman.
Have you picked up a new passion in this phase of time-off?
Well, I read a lot more now. Earlier I would not have the time for reading. I like Michael Connelly, Joe Nesbo, James Patterson. Lots of crime novels. Saif reads a lot on history and art history and religion. I cannot do all of that. Mine has to be fast-paced, whodunnit kind of a thing and then I am hooked. This is the season of hot men with Fifty Shades of Grey in the news. Who is the hottest man alive?
I think it would definitely be him (Jamie Dornan) because I just watched his show The Fall... I sat up last night despite having a cold and I saw the entire second season! He is outstanding. He is the man of the moment not because of Fifty Shades of Grey but because he has done such a wonderful role in The Fall. That's why I am not watching too many Hindi movies because I am watching a lot of TV shows. TV in America is doing so well. Their concepts are so great. Their minds, like when you watch The Fall, The Affair, The Tudors, Rome... I cannot stop. And the hottest woman...
Ah! It's so difficult to choose. Well, right now, it would be Amber Heard (recently married Johnny Depp). |
