Do not compare virtuous Maharana Pratap with that filth called Jalal.

It's possible that other wives had daughters first (Pratap did have 5 daughters), or were childless for a long time. Since he married everyone after Ajabde for political alliances, it's possible that there wasn't much love or affection between them, so it's not necessary that he have marital relations with each one, that too frequently.

Wonderful Article. TFS.😊

they had a child obviously after they married, coz amar singh was born after two years...

11 wives is not exactly a big number for those days - and as pointed out, after ajabdeh, pratap married most of them out of political alliances specifically after 1962, since that was the year, when akbar married jodha, and pratap was requested by various kingdoms to marry their daughters, since jalal would stake claim on them...Pratap's father had 22...and most kings had multiple wives..

.but akbar had atleast 36 wives and approx 300 women in his harem - the number is highly debated though amongst the historians...

400 years late.😆 Its 1562.😆

Pratap was trying heart and soul to solidify the Rajput states as much as he can, becoz, after the marriage of Jalal with Jodha, the weakening Rajput countries were ready to send their daughters to Jalal's harem just to establish a relation with Shahenshah. In order to stop that he started marrying to establish the political alliances.

Ah dont even mention his father. All the bad words come to my mouth when i think of him.😡 A womanizer. Even Pratap was disappointed in his father. He had once said that he wished there was no Rana Uday singh between Rana Sanga and him.

I have read Jalal's Harem estimated to about 5000 women. Yikes. God that man must have been really virile.
