Just caught up on the last two epis...really enjoying the further evolution of Imran-Najma's bond...especially the scene when Imran overhears her crying at the tennis court and realizes the reason why she didn't fight back to teach that other girl a lesson.
The paradox of that moment for me was an outwardly stern demeanor wala Imran wiping Najma's tears and saying, "So your mother took a promise from you?" He didn't talk to her in the tone one would use when talking to a child...that softer, more indulgent tone...He stated a fact but Najma's tears really moved him...as this scene further continues on into him confiding to his Maamu about how morose he feels..."Aaj kuch achha nahin lag raha"...his guilt over having scolded Najma so much but today realizing..."Uske aansu sacche hain"...He so badly wants to bring this child some happiness...
And then it's hilarious that after all his resolves (at Maamu's encouragement) to try and talk Mariam into allowing Najma to play, the moment Najma talks about how he is unable to get a word out in front of Mariam, he goes back to being petulant and refuses to do anything for her cuz she doesn't appreciate it...lol
Stern yet compassionate...mature yet suddenly childish when it comes to Najma...these are the paradoxes in Imran right now.
Another scene I loved was the way Imran explained to his Maamu why he shouldn't have gotten carried away loudly talking silly stuff like "Dil ki baat" and he should remember how this affects Mariam.
