Chapter 18

Sharon hummed the soft music playing in her background. Swayam was in front of her, his hands firm on her waist as they swayed to the music. She didn't know how they ended up like this but she liked this. Suddenly the soothing music stopped and inside a shrill voice reached her ears. She groaned and opened her eyes when she recognized it as the voice of her phone ringing. As she peered at her surroundings she realised it was all a dream. She hit her head with a pillow while her cheeks were turning a bright shade of red. When she got out her dizzied state she cursed the caller for calling with looking at the name when she looked at the time. Sharon got up from her bed and started folding her sheets. There was no point in going back to sleep, she was wide awake anyway. As she her brushed teeth, her doorbell rang but when she opened the door she saw nobody. Mentally yelling at the children of the society for playing the overused prank again she turned to close the door. As she did that she felt a yank on her wrist which startled her. Instinctively she twisted the hand that held hers and pinned the person to the wall with one of her arms on his neck.

"What the hell Swayam? You scared the shit out of me." Sharon said when she looked at his face. She retreated herself from her position and stood up straight.

"What was that?" Swayam said after he recovered from the shock he got by Sharon's actions.

"I did learn martial arts for some time and I did fight a lot with my brothers. Anyway, what the hell are you doing at this time? I wanted to sleep in today and you knew that." Sharon accused.

"Is that the way you greet your boyfriend?" Swayam asked cheekily.

Sharon just glared at him and then answered him, "What are you doing here so early? Wait. You were the one that called disturbing my sleep."

Before Swayam could answer her affirmatively Ankita appeared carrying large plastic bags in her hands.

"Breakfast is here." She greeted cheerfully. Sharon looked at her with surprise in her expressions. Firstly she didn't understand why the both of them were here so early and secondly why was Ankita being so cheerful in the morning. While Sharon liked to call herself a morning bird the same couldn't be said for Ankita.

"What even is going on?" Sharon said.

"Can we come inside first? These bags are too heavy, my arms are aching." Ankita complained. Sharon silently obliged and let them inside. As soon as Ankita entered inside she dropped the bags and massaged her aching limbs. Sharon chuckled looking at her and then turned to Swayam with one of her eyebrows raised which meant Swayam was due to give her some answers.

"I thought it would be good to start our date with wholesome breakfast." Swayam said.

Sharon smiled at him. It was a simple gesture but it warmed her heart. She liked those ideas big extravagant date plans for valentine's days or a proposal but in the end the little things warmed her heart, those were the ones that she loved. Swayam knew that about her as he noticed how happy she would be when he took her to the park for their evening walks or even before that when she got a handmade card from a contestant after she was eliminated who had become good friends with her. He knew that effort and thought mattered more to Sharon than the gift itself. So, that's why he pieced together little things that he knew Sharon absolutely loved for the date.

"Stop making gooey eyes at each other. Can I leave now or should I continue to be the third wheel on your breakfast date?" Ankita said.

They other too started spluttering words denying that they were making the gooey eyes Ankita claimed they did every time they were together.

"Oh please, can you both stop denying it? You know I have pictures of you both as proof right." Ankita said.

"No you don't." Sharon stated.

"Yes I do and if you delete it from my phone remember that I have other copies too." Ankita said and smiled smugly.

"You like to torture us, don't you?" Sharon said.

"Correct Sharon. It is one of the unknown jobs of a cupid and Shekhawat you're lucky I love my job as an assistant so much because if not I would have injured you badly for waking me up early and making me carry those bags." Ankita said.

"I can see why both of you are best friends. Both of you have a violent streak." Swayam said softly.

"Did you say something Shekhawat?" Ankita asked as she clearly heard him.

"No I didn't. I thought you were leaving." Swayam said.

"Yes I was. Goodbye my love birds. I'll meet you soon." Ankita said before leaving the flat.

"You are a really good persuader. How did you wake her up so early? I've tried everything but to no use." Sharon said.

"I don't know. I was really confused about what to make for breakfast so I called her up. At first I thought she fell asleep again but when I mentioned about this she just charged through and gave me the list of things to prepare and she even offered to come here to surprise you." Swayam said.

"I think she really thinks she's a cupid of some sorts. Also, you made the breakfast? You never mentioned about your cooking skills." Sharon replied amused.

"I consider myself a good cook. So are you interested in tasting my food?" Swayam said.

They made their way into the kitchen with Swayam carrying the bags behind Sharon. Sharon removed the plates and Swayam started laying out the breakfast on them. As he did that he could see Sharon smiling widely.

"I was advised to make pancakes so here they are. With that I made chocolate sauce, caramel sauce and brought some strawberries." Swayam said announcing the menu.

"Can't wait to taste it." Sharon said before she started pouring the sauces on her pile of pancakes.

Swayam did the same and they sat on the dining table silently eating their breakfast.

"This taste so good." Sharon said in between eating large pieces of her pancakes.

Swayam smiled at her as she continued biting into her food.

"You're such a good boyfriend. I love you more now." Sharon said as she finished the pancakes on her plate.

"If I knew cooking you food would make you love me I would have done that ages ago." Swayam said.

"You should have, but honestly Swayam thank you. All this is really good." Sharon said.

"It's my pleasure Sharon." Swayam replied.

"Where did you learn to cook like that?" Sharon questioned.

"You remember the time I told you I always changed what I wanted to do when I grew up?" Swayam replied. Sharon answered by nodding her head. "Well, once I had this sudden will of becoming a chef, so I kept pestering Maa to teach me. Eventually that craze diminished but I liked it so I kept searching for recipes, trying out new dishes."

"That's amazing. You have to cook more for me." Sharon said.

"Of course I will. You wait here; I have something else for you." Swayam said, then picked up the dishes and disappeared into the kitchen. He reappeared with a book in his hand.

"You wanted to catch up on reading and I think you'll like this." Swayam said handing over the book to Sharon.

"Thank you. I'm sure I'll love it." She said after reading the summary of the book.

"Do you love our first date up till now?" Swayam said.

"There's more. I thought our first date just ended." Sharon answered.

"Give me some credit Sharon. I might have not been in a relationship before but I have seen enough serials with my mom and cousin sisters to know how to be good at it. Our first date must be special so that you remember it for years." Swayam said.

"I would have remembered it even if it was only the breakfast." Sharon said cupping his face.

"I know. Now go get changed, I'll wait for you in my car." Swayam said.

Sharon smiled widely at him and then placed a small peck on his lips. Not satisfied with that he pulled her closer deepening the kiss. When they felt the need of oxygen again, they reluctantly let go of each other.

"You have fifteen minutes." Swayam said.

"Don't be bossy. You just ruined a perfectly romantic moment." Sharon replied with a pout.

"I'm sure there will be plenty more and I won't ruin those." Swayam said.

Sharon blushed hearing this which led to Swayam laughing. Sharon hid her face in his chest and felt it vibrate it as he laughed. In that moment she wished that he never seize to make her blush because even though she hated it, it also reminded her of how deeply she had fallen for him.
