I don't know how many people here would agree with me, but I actually feel sorry for Nafeesa. Of course what she did was unforgivable and is probably going to haunt her for life; however, despite of that, I have a soft corner for her.
For me, she was probably the first victim of Suraiyya's greed and need to control everyone's lives. As someone who is strictly against polygamy and considers it like a sort of hit to human rights, I sympathize with her. Whatever the circumstances behind Fahad and Shazia's marriage were, it doesn't bode well with me, that as someone who claims to love Nafeesa, Fahad would marry someone else - I don't agree with the whole "trapped him into an affair" excuse, there is never an excuse for cheating, ever. And then the fact that Shazia gave birth to a boy - which in itself in stupid and retrogressive because these are educated people who should have the basic knowledge that sex of a baby depends on the father and not the mother.
Her unhappiness and displeasure is not unfounded. Abdullah was seen to be the cupid between Zain and Aaliya; he did everything in his power to get them together - why wasn't the same consideration shown for his fist daughter-in-law, who had to undergo the injustice of not only seeing her husband have an affair (or something like that), and get married against her wishes? According to me, Abdullah should have at least tried to interfere in that matter, if not helped Nafeesa get her share of rights and understood her wishes. Because clearly Suraiyya is a witch and a vixen rolled into one!
I don't condone what Nafeesa did; but probably because I would never be able to see my husband with someone else, I find her redemption refreshing. If there is one character in that house who could become a better human being, it's her. Suraiyya will always be the bad guy and Shazia is a cheater and a glutton, who, even if she offers me Bill Gates' empire, Matt Lanter and the ability to fly, I shall never be able to see eye to eye with.
What do you guys think? Nafeesa forgivable or not?
