Diya Aur Baati Hum - Written Update 1st July 2014.
The Rathis are shocked to see Sandhya sad. Sandhya goes to the balcony in her bedroom. Sandhya ponders about what SP officer said. Bhabho follows Sandhya to her room. Sandhya asks Bhabho if she had some work? Bhabho asks her what happened? Bhabho tells her to share her sadness just like she shares her happiness.
Sandhya tells Bhabho she has lost. Bhabho is shocked. Sandhya tells her their decision of making a film was a mistake. Sandhya tells her she has spoiled the name of both the department and her family. Sandhya says she is ashamed of herself. Bhabho tells her to stay strong. She instills moral support in her. Bhabho takes Sandhya and shows her the photo of the best cadet trophy, Suraj's photo from the competition and the newspaper which shows that Sandhya came third in the state. She tells Sandhya not to forget her past. She tells Sandhya to sit on the bed. She asks her why does she think that she has lost? She asks her from when does she listen to what the others say? She tells her to not follow what others say but to do what her heart says. Bhabho reminds her that their film is a bitter medicine. It will take time for the people to accept it. She tells her to not give up. She tells Sandhya there is one day left. She has to be patient till then. She tells Sandhya not to worry. Sandhya's confidence is reassured. Suraj is seen outside the door listening to the women talking.
Scene shifts to Chavi's house. Her mother in law asks her if she wants to take brinjal to office tomorrow as she is fond of brinjal Chavi tells her that she feels nauseous when she sees brinjal. Chavi tells her she feels like eating sweets and chocolates. Her mother in law asks her if she wants her to make a sweet? She tells her that Dilip has gone to bring gulab jamun. Dilip returns. Dilip asks her if she told the good news to her mother in law? Chavi tells her mother in law she is going to be a grandmother. Her mother in law is very happy! She goes to tell the entire neighbourhood. Dilip hugs Chavi.
Meena tells Sandhya that the romantic rains have come. She tells her that Suraj has called her in a red saree. Sandhya tells her she does not trust her as she does not listen properly. Meena assures her that are heard the right thing. Meena fears if she has gone deaf? Suraj assures her she is not deaf. Meena is happy again! Meena leaves. Sandhya is confused. Suraj tells Sandhya that she looks good in every colour, but he wants to take her out. Sandhya tells her she has a lot of work. Suraj tells her she can do work later and that she should go out now. Suraj tells her that they are going to be stressed about the result so they rather go out and enjoy themselves. Sandhya agrees to go out.
Sandhya is dressed in a red saree. She sees Suraj fixing his bike. Suraj tells her the bike is both broken and angry. Suraj tells her since he has neglected his bike for long she is angry with him. Sandhya tells him to tell the bike to get used to it. Suraj tells her that bike has stayed longer with him than her. Sandhya tells her love is more important than duration. Suraj tells her that the bike says that Suraj can't go two steps without it. Sandhya tells her she needs him at every step too. Suraj tells her this need is called love. Suraj tells her he will be with her at every step. It suddenly starts raining. Sandhya ask Suraj to return home. But Suraj doesn't agree. They set off on the bike in the rain.
