"Its Abdullah on the line. The last penalty for the game. If he scores,the penalty shootout will go on,if not,the Topaz house wins the league." Boomed a voice through the speakers.
This is it. He thought. I can score. I will score.
"And he goes, breaking into a run,and he shoots- oh and he misses. So close. Oh, so close. Hats off to the goalkeeper.and the winner of th.."
Zain tuned out. This wasn't supposed to happen. He had failed his house and teammates. He was disappointed.
"Damn" he muttered and headed to the Sapphire house common room rather than the mess hall.
"Abdullah,wait up." He heard her behind him as he was climbing the stairs.
"Go away" he groans.
"No."
"What do you want" he snapped,not in the mood to engage in any conversation, especially with her.
All he wanted was to curl up into a ball and sleep.
"What I want is the receipts of all the decoration thinges you bought for the farewell."she snapped.
"Oh yeah,it is in my dorm." He said,rubbing his temples. "Later?"
"Hmm" she said,biting her lips and she seemed to be checking off something off her infamous diary.
"Bye" he said curtly, turning around to walk away.
"Wait" she cried out,running upto him.
"Where are you going?" She asked tenatively
"Common room." He said,not stopping.
"Oh, I was also heading there." She said,not bothered by his tone.
"Hmm." He said,ignoring her.
"Nice game" she stated.
"We lost." He said, dryly.
"Yeaaah, except for that one backdraw."
His lips broke into a small smile.
"Nice defending" she nudged his shoulders with her.
"Since when are you into football?"
"Oh please, I always watch football." She scoffed.
"Zain baby" he turned around groaning "not again."
He could feel Aliya reigning in her laughter.
He shot her a glare.
"Baby, I am so sorry." A girl came and tried to hug him.
He leant backwards,not allowing her to touch him.
"Why are you sorry?"
"You lost the match na baby." She said,taking his arm in his.
"We. We lost the match Gauhur. And you should be rejoicing no? Your house won."
Aliya cleared her throat,trying her best not to laugh.
"I will be going then."
She ignored the glares from Gauhur and the pleading expression of Zain and walked away,her shoulders shaking visibily.
He tried to extract his arm from Gauhur's but she held on with a vice like grip.
"Where are you going baby?"
"Don't call me that." He murmered,slightly afraid.

"Traitor" he huffed, as he sat down beside her with a thump.
She laughed.
"I don't have any obligation to you, Abdullah. I was actually quite enjoying myself."
"Yeah,I figured. But that is no excuse to leave me alone with my personal stalker."
"Should have thought about the consequenses before you asked her on a date." She said absent mindedly, writing something in her diary.
"On a dare!" He exclaimed. "And I made it pretty clear to her before we even went."
"Yeah well, she is Gauhar." She said, ruffling his hair.
"Oh no,you didn't."
Her hand froze in his hair,a fearful expression flashing across her face.
"Sorry, kitkit." She used the nickname from when they were kids.
"Bilkul nai." He said and started tickling her.
"Aah, please, kitki- zain,please stop." She said,laughing and gasping.
"Ewww, ew,ew,ew,ew" she said,still laughing.
Zain stopped. "Ew?"
"You are sweaty!" She exclaimed.
He raised his eyebrows.
"Ew." She said,standing up.
"Ew,ew,ew,ew" she said,making a face while rubbing her hands down her t-shirt.
"Sooo sweaty" she whined.
"What did you expect? It was a football match. I aint gonna sweat nectar honey." He snorted.
"Well,you shouldnt have tickled me then" she exclaimed,still disgusted.
He snorted again." Well,you should have remembered that before ruffling my hair!"
"You are disgusting Abdullah."
"Thanks for the compliment hon, wish I could say the same. " he said, grinning,propping his legs on the coffee table.
"Where are you going?" He asked.
"To have a shower,obviously."
"Can I join?" He asked, knowing it would infuriate her further.
"Keep fantasising, Abdullah." He knew she was rolling her eyes.
"And who in the right mind would fantasise about you Haider?" He shouted at her retreating back.
"Assholes like you Abdullah, assholes like you."she called out.
Still grinning, he made himself comfortable on the couch,when he remembered he was supposed to be miserable.
"Damn you Haider" he muttered." Wouldn't even let me be sad."
He hated that Aliya Ghulam Haider could make him feel alright when he was not.
He hated that she could make him smile despite his self.
Maybe that is not so bad after all.
He thought as he drifted to sleep.
Not bad at all.
"I hate you Haider!" He moaned into his pillow as he imagined her taking a shower.
