WEAVING THE KNOTTY TALES
MEET GAURI PRADHAN TEJWANI AND PALLAVEE RAJNEESH DUGGAL
By Zeba Akhtar
Wedding Planning in India still seems to be an unexplored phenomenon
as we Indians always have a knack of doing everything all by ourselves
rather than delegating it to experts! Moreover, most Indian families
consider wedding planners to be an added expense and hence refrain from using their services!
Breaking the myth associated with wedding planning, are two powerful
women from the hood, who are all set to change the way wedding planning is viewed in India with their enterprise called The Knotty Tales'.
Brainchild of former actress turned entrepreneur Gauri Pradhan Tejwani, and LSE finance graduate turned jewelry designer Pallavee Rajneesh Duggal, The Knotty Tales' is a step in the field of wedding
planning where the two of them plan on providing 360 degree wedding solutions without adding a financial burden upon their clients.
"I was looking for a break from television and was always inclined
towards a creatively fulfilling career option. It was then that that
idea of wedding planning struck me, and the first person I could think of, was Pallavee. We are both like-minded individuals and she was convinced within a couple of hours," recalls Gauri who called Pallavee in the middle of the night when the idea struck her!
Both of them agree on how having a wedding planner puts the families
of the bride and groom at ease. They are less hassled and can peacefully
enjoy the ceremonies rather than worrying about the various preparations to handle.
"What people forget is that having a wedding planner means they can
be rest assured about all the arrangements. Most couples, especially
those from nuclear families have too much on their plates before the big day which is why having a wedding planner makes sense", adds Pallavee
when questioned about the feasibility of such a career in a place like India.
The Knotty Tales is a venture, which will not just stay restricted to
weddings. Be it birthday parties, to farewell lunches and baby showers,
these two young entrepreneurs do not want to miss any genre of event.
Neither do they believe in restricting the scale of wedding, are on the
lookout to experience, and cater to all scales and budgets when it comes to weddings.
"We believe that the wedding scene in India for now has been very
restricted to the traditional sphere. While we love that part about
Indian weddings, one of our key strategy is to bring in a few alternate
influences in terms of themes and concepts, which appeal to young
couples these days! Our dream project would be to work with a young
couple that is open to experiment so that we can let our creative juices
flow and work up a never seen before kind of a wedding experience,"
echo the partners who seem to be extremely excited about their new venture and are luring clients all over the country.
If you wish to explore their creative event concepts, you can look them up on Facebook as The Knotty Tales!
