Part 4
It was a beautiful morning. Sky was clear. There was no snow fall. Zain woke up to find the house in complete silence. He got up from bed and went outside the room, Aliya n Ghulam were nowhere to be seen.
He freshened up and was now roaming in the house. Since the storm has settled down so phone would be in a working state. He got up to search for one. He thought they must have a land-line or something . He checked for the telephone.
This house was big enough for the members living in it. He had not actually seen the whole house.There was no telephone in the living room. So he went to a room beside the kitchen. The room had nothing but a bed and a small cupboard. He closed the door and went checking for another room which was upstairs. He opened to find the room quite bigger than the other he visited. There was a bed, an almirah and a study table and also a book shelf. The walls were plain however there was a photo frame on the table which was slightly tilted. He moved forward to see the picture clearly. A young man with big brown eyes, one can see mischief in those eyes, was smiling broadly in the picture. Zain recognized the man in the photo at once. He was shocked. How this man's photo is in this house?
There was a click on the door, Aliya came into the house. Zain shut the door and came downstairs.
"Oh you woke up",Aliya said closing the door behind her.
"Ghulam?", Zain asked seeing that nobody was coming behind her.
"Oh since the weather is now somewhat clear Abbu has gone outside for some walk."
"Oh um okay", Zain said now looking outside the window.
"Had u freshen up?"
"Yeah" Zain said turning towards Aliya.
"Okay then You wanna have breakfast or tea before that?
"Breakfast will be fine"
Zain move towards table and Aliya brought his breakfast.
"You won't eat?" Zain asked seeing that she hadn't brought breakfast.
"No actually I am not in mood", Aliya said.
Zain didn't know what to say next. From past few days he was getting suspicious of Aliya's behavior. He found it really unpleasant that Aliya doesn't talk to him much. He had thought that she was a reserved girl and then he had a conversation with Ghulam. He got to know about her "dislike" for army people. Zain was very proud of his profession. Profession was not a good word to describe what he does. Serving country is not a "profession". The word "duty" will do good. And now he saw that picture. He had so many questions in his mind. So many things he wanted to know.
Before he could open his mouth Aliya spoke , "You wanted to inform ur HQ don't you? Well the weather is clear now n I checked that the telephone is working well. You can make a call"
Well Zain had not forgotten to make a call. There was some other thing in his mind. He said nothing but, "Right".
Aliya stood up and took the plates to the kitchen.
"Where is telephone?"
"It is over there in Abbu's room." She pointed a room which was in a corner. Surprisingly he had not seen this room before.
He went and dialed a number.
After few minutes he came out finding Aliya coming downstairs. Zain went to the living room and Aliya followed him.
"Zain"
Zain looked at her. This was the first time she addressed him like that.
She said "..is there anyone whom do u miss?"
Zain stared at her. He could clearly see the pain in those beautiful eyes. After a minute or so..he turned his back towards Aliya and spoke "There are so many people I miss Aliya" after a pause he said " my job is like that.."
There was a change of expression on Aliya's face. She was also staring at Zain.
