Part 10
Guyz, at last the long awaited updated. Wanted to keep it short and sweet. What do you say, should I end the FF here or continue?
Arjun paced up and down in his room. He was highly agitated. "What is he thinking? What would he say? Will he love me or would he hate me more? Will he forgive me or would he prefer keep his distance?" A thousand thoughts ran across Arjuna's mind.
"Rajkumar, Devi Uttara has come to see you." The guard announced.
"Send her in. Send her in immediately."
The Guard was intrigued. The usually calm Arjun looked highly restless.
"Pitashri Bhrata Vrishaketu wants to talk to you."
At Uttara's word Arjuna walked to the hall with the highest gait possible. He was covered with sweat as the guards opened the door to the main hall.
Arjuna entered the hall. His heart had never beaten so fast but he tried to put on a calm expression. He entered the hall with complete control on himself ready for any verdict to be given by the child. Vrishaketu stood before him, ashen faced. Arjuna had never seen him in such a delicate state.
"I cannot leave her. I cannot leave Radha Ma and come here."
"Radha Ma can come with you. So can your Pitamah Adhirath. I am sure they will agree." Arjuna relaxed. The conversation was taking a positive turn.
"I cannot stay here. This is not my place." Vrishaketu fumbled.
"OK. Then we can visit Anga. You would like to go there? You could surely meet some old friends. Then we could travel around the world, see thing and learn things."
Vrishaketu's face gave a glint of excitement for a moment. Then it receded back to misery.
"Father wanted to travel too. He didn't like politics."
"Your father was a Great man and I need not tell you this. I wish I just understood that when I had time. I wish I could make things right. But now I realize I am a very small part of a big world. I cannot change the events."
"Why did you have to kill him? Why did you have to kill my brothers?"
"Time my son plays deadly tricks. I was always the fool not to realize it"
"I wish I could hate you." Vrishaketu shouted at Arjuna as he started crying.
Arjuna embraced him and wiped his tears. "How can hatred towards me make you happy?"
Vrishaketu cried with his head resting on Arjuna's shoulder. Vrishaketu, however he may act like a grown up, was stil
l a child and he needed care. And Arjuna was determined to give him whatever he wanted, all the love he lacked, all the respect that was taken from his father, everything and anything.
