The episode starts with the voice over, India was known as the golden bird, around 500 years back, our country was being destroyed by the attacks of foreign invaders, but then our motherland gave birth to a brave warrior MAHARANA PRATAP. Entry of Pratap is shown in desert, he is running towards a particular direction, with an awesome song in background, finally he has reached a lake to take a lotus for his mother's puja, where his friend Som came to call him, he was calling him as 'BHAUJIRAAJ' & they head towards palace. After puja Pratap ask her mother Jaiwantabai to tell the some stories for there ancestors which portrays the bravery as he likes it & also wants to be like them. She says that he should imply there lifestyles in his life & proove to be like lord Ram. She introduced Bappa Rawal, Rana Hammir, Rana Kuumbha, Rana Sanga (Pratap's Grandfather) & at last Maharani Jayawanta Bai Songara asks him to salute his brave father Rana Uday Singh. Uday Singh goes in flashback that how Shershah Suri attacked chittor & Rana Uday Singh has to loose his empire after a huge battle & he decided to surrender & took a pledge that he would soon take back his lost empire from there hands. The puja finishes & he ask his servant to inform in the palace that he's coming back. Jaiwanta tells him for that he has to prove himself, he says if he can take their family sword & proves himself. Jayawanta gets angry & stops him from touching that sword & says that this sword itself chooses its master, if he's destined for this sword then Lord Ram will surely make it possible & he will be the master. He asks when it will going to happen & she tells when in his heart people see the light & fire of independence, when he himself wants to do something for the people, it will happen then only. Pratap gets to know that third Queen of Uday Singh, Dheerbai wants kairi (mango), he immidiately goes to Sajjabai, the 2nd Queen of Udai Singh, to get know of the kairi tree. Pratap asks about the kairi tree & Sajjabai tells him that it's in Afghani camp, Pratap turns to get kairi from there, she tries to stop him but runs towards the camp.

Pratap reached the Afgan camp & he finds Shakti (his younger brother) there. Pratap climbs up to get kairis while Shakti aims at one of the soldier from his gulel & it hits one of the soldier, they get scared. Pratap to protect themselves throws some kairis on them & tries to run from there, but some soldiers attack them, in order to protect they attack back & hit them & run. Soldiers inform their leader Shams Khan. In palace, all three queens were preparing for Udai Singh's arrival. Suddenly Pratap comes running, looking tensed, on asking he tells what has happened in the Afgan Camp & gets scolding from Jaiwantabai. A maid inorms that Uday Singh has arrived, the queens go to welcome him. In the darbaar, Shams Khan is sitting in a very disrespectful manner. Uday Singh directly asks him about the reason to come, he taunts him & tells Uday's 2 sons intruded into their camp & breaks their bond. Uday gets even more angry & says that he will be punished them & calls for them. They both come to the court and Pratap confesses that he has invaded the terrirtory of Afghans. Shams says that Pratap is lucky and he is in a good mood so he will not punish Pratap severely but a mild punishment is needed and tells Pratap that Rajputs are known for their pride and hence his punishment is Pratap is to go on his knees and ask for forgiveness. Pratap goes down on his knees albeit before his father and says that he is extremely sorry for not obeying him. Shams Khan goes mad and shouts but by the time he recovers himself from denial Uday has given Pratap the permission to return and Pratap is out of the court. Shams Khan gets upset and asks Uday Singh to ask for forgiveness for his son. Rajputs get angry and get ready to fight and so do the Afghans. Uday Singh controls them and tells everyone to back off.He tells Shams Khan that he knows that Shams Khan has an ulterior motive to come to his court and tells him to spill the beans. Shams goes round and round the topic before eventually declaring that he wants the whole tax which Uday Singh has been collecting from the people to come to Shams first and then Shams will give Uday Singh his share from the whole. He also demands to give 100 horses and 50 elephants & the Mirzai that he had seen Uday singh wear once. Uday grants and asks anything else. Shams asks for the ancestoral Sword. Uday Singh says that he is not able to lift the sword. Shamskhan gets wise and backs off & he walks away saying that he would like to meet Pratap soon. After he leaves, Uday Singh shouts for Pratap while Pratap questions him that how did Shams get the power to insult him & how can he take away our motherland and if I want to take some mangoes from my own mother land it is a crime?? How is that justice?? How can he come to the court and insult the motherland and nobody punishes him. Uday Singh does not answer but tells him that he is too young to understand these things and so that he realizes his mistake he will be put into prison with the bare mininum essential to survive for two days. After his punishment is over, he meets his mother & she asks him whether he felt wronged on being punished by his father. Pratap tells her that he is not feeling bad for his father's action but his inaction before the Afghans, why he could not take the action of going on knees before the foreign rule. His mother tells him that this is the true meaning of foreign rule. He says that his motherland is asking him for Freedom. He asks her that once she teached him that. She repeats her advice that one second of dependence is equivalent to dying thousands of time. Pratap is all motivated by now. He walks down to the Pooja Bhavan and addresses his ancestors. He questions why is Mewad under foreign rule when they are there, why is Shams Khan given gifts when he is insulting his father, he asks them when they will give him their ashirwad and make him powerful to fight with them, when he will be chosen by the fate to lift the ancestral sword and in that vigour he lifts up the sword!!!! Dheerbai sees this and panics. She comes to him and tells him to put it down but Pratap is in his own world. He tells her that he has been heard by his ancestors and hence he is chosen to free this motherland. He has got the answers to the questions that was running in his very veins and today he has been chosen. Dheerbai requests again and again to keep the sword down but Pratap's concentration is on the sword and he refuses to put it down. When she mentions that Ranaji is already upset with him and wont be too pleased if he comes to know of this. She asks him to keep quiet about this incident. At the pooja, Pratap again asks his Ranima as to why Ranaji took Shams Khan's insults lying down in the durbar instead of giving him a fitting reply. She explains him that when Rana Uday Singh bowed down to Sher Shah, he had to compromise with his 'kshatriya dharm' for the sake of his people, for Mewad was already in a poor state and one more war could destroy it forever. And as for what happened in the durbar, had Ranaji made even a tiny mistake in a fit of anger, it would have ruined his plans of overthrowing Shams Khan forever. She tells him that the treaty cost him so much that he had to give away a lot of money to Shams Khan and now he is paying all wages to the employees from his personal fund. As a result, the workers have stopped taking their wages. Pratap realizes his mistake on hearing all these and decides to apologize to his father. Pratap goes to Ranaji's room to meet him and get to know that he had left from the guards. He rushes out hoping to catch up with him and runs to the main gate where he was stopped by the guards, who tell him that Ranaji had strictly instructed them not to let him leave without security. Pratap finds Devidas as a traitor. Devidas takes money from Afghans & disclosing their secret information, Pratap gets angry. When Pratap comes to the palace, Uday Singh becomes angry & punishes again while Pratap says he's ready for it but before that he wants to tell him something very important & for that he wants him to check if he wants to listen in front of all or not, as it's confidential. Pratap discloses the true face of Devidas with evidences & Devidas admits his mistake, he bent down and apologizes to Uday Singh. Uday Singh asks Rawatji to punish Devidas, he should be given that punishment which a traitor should get. Rawatji takes his sword & heads towards Devidas to kill him.Pratap turns his face & the queens close their eyes.Uday Singh looks at Pratap, as he is not looking Devidas. Udai Singh asks Rawatji to stop. He asks Pratap to look there and see blood, as he should be strong enough to see all this. Devidas is killed. Uday appreciates Pratap's efforts while Rawatji says Pratap has proved that he has Rajput's blood in him, he fought with the Afghan Chowni guards. Pratap is not an ordinary prince, he is a future warrior. Uday Singh agrees & says that Mewad is in save hands now. Pratap is splashing his face, as if to wipe out the good memories with Devidas, how Devidas used to be so protective with him and how he betrayed his country and how ultimately he was slained! Jaywantabai tells him that he kept aside his personal feelings for his country and that is what separates a good king from others. He has to fight for Mewad, this is his Karma and his identity!!! Jaiwanta says to Pratap that this is your father's battle & there will be a time when there will a battle that will be yours, but not this time and till that time comes, you need to see without being tensed. Pratap says that then why are you tensed? Is it your battle too?? Jaiwanta gets serious hearing this. Uday Singh tells to all the Samants that Shams has discovered about their plans.

Uday Singh enters the room where his mother Maharani Karmavati's photo is hung. He looks at it and recounts the horror he had experienced as a child when his mother had died in Jauhar. He asks his mother for her blessings and applauds her on her act of bravery. Jayawanta is narrating the tales of Rana Sanga to a half asleep Pratap when Ranaji enters. He approaches her and reaches for her face but ultimately caresses Pratap. He talks to her about raj-dharma in particular jauhar. Jaiwanta says that being a true kshatriya she will forever be ready for sacrifice. He states that she is the ideal woman of Mewad and now she has to live up to the challenge and ink her name eternally in the pages of history. Jayawanta caresses and hugs Pratap but Pratap is baffled by the new term which he thinks might be something dangerous. Jaiwanta goes to Girija Dai & asks her for the keys to the jauhar chauk. Girija is extremely upset and prays to Ek linganath. Pratap asks Jaiwantabai about Jauhar & she told him that jauhar is the ritual where rajput ladies used to perform to save themself from the hand of enemies. She told him that years ago his dadisa (wife of rana sanga), karmavati the great queen performed the jauhar & sacrificed their lives along with all ladies. Pratap closes his eyes tightly as he opens it he visualize the jauhar performed by the queen & other ladies, he sees her dadisa watching him with smile & in front of his eyes she jumped into fire, Pratap shouted & Jaiwanta becomes shocked to see him like this. Pratap becomes scared of loosing her, he huggs her tightly, she calms him down & says that its their proud ritual but Pratap is not ready to accept it, he runs from there, she tries to stop but he doesn't. Jaiwanta asks him to understand that no one has forced them to perform jauhar, this ritual is performed by their self wish to protect their honour from enemies & she expects from him to honour his mother's words. Pratap asks what if Shams Khan loose it, she replies if it happens jauhar will be cancelled & Pratap says that he would not let it happen. Rawatji informs him that Shams has prepared to attack anytime. Uday Singh ask him to go Shams with a peace message. Rawajit says to Shams that Uday has invited him with his few ministers to the palace, on asking the reason he says that this time there's a problem with the treasure of Mewad so they are unable to pay him tax but they can pay it in other form, the arms & ammunation which is very sacred for the royal family will be displayed to him & he can choose what he wants, saying this he leaves. In palace, on Jaiwanta's order, all rajput ladies are gathered in the room along with Sajjabai. Jaiwanta informs them that the time has arrived to perform the sacred ritual to save their honour & asks them if they have any fear but none of them have any fear but they only worried about their children & Jaiwanta assures them about their children's security. On the other side, Pratap asks his ancestors to grand him power so that he can stop this ritual, he goes to the sword & tries to lift it & after few seconds he lift it & take the pledge that he'll not let jauhar take place. When he goes with sword, Shams Khan enters the palace. Shams taunts him while Pratap remembers all insults by Shams. When he is about to attack Shams, Uday Singh alerts him saying Shams Khan is royal guest & Pratap should welcome him well. Pratap reminds her mother's advice as well. Shams taunts & says that he wants the courageous boy from Uday Singh as a gift. One soldier present there tries to attack Shams Khan while Pratap saves Shams who praises Pratap. Shams Khan is elated on being bestowed with the weapons of the Mewad rules of bygone era & agrees to take them. Uday singh advises him a tip to keep them immersed in lemon water for two days for sharpness. As the guests leave it is revealed this was a ploy of the king of Mewad to buy time till the armies of friendly nation reach to aid them in war. This ploy works as Shams khan is shown deferring his plans to attack Chittor by 2 days. He wants to follow the the tip given by Uday Singh. Pratap paints their flag on mirror.Pratap gets his father's plan to drug him and the other princes. When all prince sleep down, Jaiwanta orders the maids to take them out towards the carts. Maan Singh before leaving with the kids assures Jaiwanta that since he's alive nothing can be happen to Pratap. They leave, queens becomes sad. After few minutes, the maids inform that Pratap has not drunk that thandai. The queens becomes shocked. Jaiwanta says that they have to inform Ranaji. On the way, in cart, Pratap opens his eyes & remembers how he has changed the drugged glasses. When Pratap gets ready to leave from the cart,Uday Singh comes to assure about their safety & also wants to see his sons for last time. He sees Pratap with lots of affection, he puts his hand on Pratap's head & says that whether a person has many children but his first child is always very special for him, he may have not said it before but he loves him & after him he knows that he'll not only get the freedom for Mewad but also proves to be a great king. He is saying these while holding his hand, Pratap couldn't control himself & he tries to move his hand to touch his father but at the same time Maan Singh comes & interupts but Uday feels his moving hand, but Maan says its not possible & they leave from there, tears came out from Pratap's eyes & he sees Uday while moving away from him. When the cart is about to cross the border, Pratap becomes successful to flee in spite of Maan's alertness. Pratap reaches fort & sees that preparations going on inside the fort for arrival of Rajrana Bahadur. Pratap gets the information about him that he is very brave warrior & he always wins war. He overhears the conversation of Uday Singh & Rajrana, Uday asks him to change the flag of Afghans & puts the Mewad's one. Uday singh comes to know that Pratap has escaped and he realizes that his son is faking his sleep and was not really drugged. He is angry and worried about his son being caught by the enemy but Rawatji is sure that he is smarter than that. Pratap is again on the run and hiding in the Mahal when he sees Rajrana practising his sword skills and Pratap is duly impressed with this. Rajrana then goes and gives his soldiers an inspiring speech to boost their morale. Pratap is shown to have managed to find his way amongst the line of soldiers without anyone knowing. Maan Singh manages to get the passage through the Afghan borders and proceeds to check the princes after reaching a secured place. He is shocked to see Pratap missing and sends his guards to search for him. When Shams Khan is informed of this incident, he gets furious and rushes to check the weapons gifted by Uday Singh. He is bewildered to see them all rotten and useless after being soaked in lime juice for two days and realized that he had been fooled all along. He gets mad and decides to declare war. A messenger arrives with a covered plate and a message for Uday Singh, it's a goat's head along with a message from Shams Khan, declaring war. All soldiers assemble in the field, ready for the war. Rana Raj Bahadur delivers a vocal tonic, asking them to sacrifice their lives for the sake of their soil. All hail him and march out. Pratap comes last and is stopped by Raj Bahadur, who rightly guesses that he's a kid and refuses to let him join them for being underage for war. Pratap tries to convince him in every possible way for Raj Bahadur threatens to imprison him and leaves the place. The army march towards the battle field with Rana Raj Bahadur leading them on horseback. Suddenly Pratap is seen approaching them on foot, running with all his might. He soon catches up Raj Bahadur's horse, much to his surprise and keeps up with him when he bids the horse to run faster. Suddenly he steps into a pit and loses his balance. Raj Bahadur jumps down from horseback to catch him, visibly impresses at the young boy and ask him his identity as he certainly cant be the son of an ordinary man. Pratap answers that he's the son of Rana Uday Singh, king of Mewar and mentally smacks himself the next moment for blurting out the truth & says that a king is like father for the praja & if he's fulfilling his duties then they should also have some responsibilities, Bahudar is impressed. Preparations of war is going on under Rawatji's leadership, & Uday Singh is getting ready for war, he says that a rajput is never fear of swords & war & when the moment he's waiting for is near, he's worried for Pratap. He asks Dheerbai to leave with maids from secret door & as they come to know of Pratap they'll send him to her, Maan Singh is arranging palace for her where she & his sons live with comfort. Rana Bahadur is teaching Pratap some techniques of sword fighting. Uday Singh boosts their moral & thanx to his soldiers & says that the moment Rana Bahudar would change the flag will be the winning moment for them. A soldier notices & informs to Uday Singh that the large army coming towards them.

War starts. Shams fires the tope ka gola & breaks the main gate, attacks from both sides. Pratap sees his dadiraj fighting & stops there, he is worried for his father, Rajrana makes him understand that there's no place of love & emotion in the battle field, there is only one emotion & that is the relation which a warrior makes it with the motherland from their blood of their enemies & asks Pratap whether he is scared & Pratap replies that he's ready for it. The fight was going on, rajputs are fighting with all their bravery, Rawatji spots Pratap fighting as a soldier & goes to inform Uday Singh & here Pratap fights bravely & defeats some of the Afghan soldiers & Rajrana Bahudar becomes impressed. The war is going in full swing. Rawatji comes galloping to Udai Singh who is dueling with an Afgan soldier. Rawatji reveals that Pratap had been spotted fighting alongside Bahadur Rana's soldiers. Uday correctly guesses that Pratap must have come to hoist the flag. Rawat inquires whether a small contingent of soldiers should be dispatched for Pratap's safety. Uday angrily answers that every soldier in the Mewad army was engaged in fighting the Afgans, fighting to preserve their freedom, fighting to save their motherland, fighting for their honour. He would not compromise on that even not for his own son. Pratap has floundered his authority by disobeying him, now he has to pay the price. The Afghan soldier whom Uday Singh has knocked on the ground overhears this conversation and goes and reports it to Shams. Orders are issued to every Afghan sodier to capture Pratap, dead or alive. The Afghan soldiers attacks Pratap but Rajrana Bahadur protects him from them as he is the future of Mewad. Pratap looks around at the wounded and tired soldiers and encourages them when he feels saddened seeing them to continue fighting till their last breath for their land. They slowly follow under Pratap's words. In the meantime in palace, Jaiwantabai & Sajjabai bid goodbye to Dheerbai alongwith Kokoyaji from a secret door. Jaiwanta becomes worried for Pratap & orders to get ready for jauhar. Jaiwantabai exhorts the women not to give in to despair- but to face death bravely, just as their menfolk have done. The Jauhar quarters which is guarded by warrior women. All Queens are gathered in jauhar room, the lady soldiers closed the door. Some Afghan soldiers reached there. Jaiwantabai asks to start the rituals for jauhar. Afghan soldiers along with Adil Khan attacks the lady soldiers. Adil Khan enters to the the jauhar room & misbehaves with the ladies. The queens warcn him to stop & ask to leave, but he is stubborn saying that Shams asks him to take all of them. Sajjyabai's courageos move save her & Jaiwantabai by killing that soldier. Sajja becomes so happy & scared at the same time, she says that today she has proved herself to be good queen, she gets such courage from Pratap's decision & says if Ranaji is here he must be proud of her, Jaiwantabai says that if he is here nothing like that can happen. Here on the field Pratap manages to hoist the flag with the help of Rajrana & his tukdi but Rajrana is killed in this battle & now there's Mewad's flag on the fort. Pratap climbs down after putting the flag & tries to shake the dead body of Rajrana, who is dead & he tries to make him see the Flag. Pratap is crying & realizes that the soldier who has to play the bugle of win is not able to and remembers that Rana had told him that if he fails to do so, many of his soldiers will die. He gets up and plays the bugle. The final battle is going on between Uday Singh and Shams Khan. Here Uday is about to faint when Rawatji comes and supports him and tells him that Mewad has won. Uday gets a fresh air of jubilance & they both shout Jai Mewar'!! Shams's soldiers come to attack but Mewad soldiers who have been rejuvenated with the win, stop them & tell them to surrender. Uday Singh tells Shams that Mewad is independent now. While Jaiwanta is preparing for Jauwhar just then a woman comes and informs that they have won. Rawatji finds Pratap hugging the dead body of Raj Rana. Rawatji tells him that one should not cry for martyrs & their memories will always remain with us and inspire us always!!!

The Rajputana Soldiers demand Shams Khan's death as Shams pleads for his life and forgiveness. Rana Uday agrees upon a condition and Shams is ready to do anything. Uday asks Shams to withdraw all his soldiers from Mewad and returns the stolen wealth & weapons back to Mewad and leaves Mewad forever. Shams Khan agrees to all three conditions.
Rani Bhatiyani is elated upon the piece of information of their win and rushes towards the palace and pauses to enquire about Pratap. Uday questions about the person who hoisted the flag if Rana Bahadur was already dead at the time. Shams Khan is eager to know as well. Rawatji proudly announces that it is none other than crowned prince Pratap. The Rajput soldiers praise Pratap as he proceeds towards Uday who is proud as well. Pratap seeks his blessing. Shams Khan indirectly speaks of keep Pratap safe as Udai Singh's enemies will note to have Pratap dead before he battles Uday Singh again in the future. Rawatji takes out his sword to behead Shams for this but Uday stops him and orders Shams to leave the land once and for all. Uday Sreminds Shams to hand over the precious thing of Mewad, the key representing Mewad's freedom. Hesitantly, he has to hand it over. For his helplessness, Shams Khan presents his hatred towards Pratap as Rana Uday Singh remembers the moment when he had vowed to free Mewad from Afghans. Pratap performs last rituals of Rajrana Bahadur like a son. Uday & Pratap return to palace, the queens welcome them, Jaiwanta hugs Pratap with all love & care, she then tells how Sajjabai bravely kills Adil khan & saves all of them. Uday appreciates her efforts & she becomes happy. They step inside for celebrations, Maan Singh has already reached there. Celebrations starts, there is music & celebrations in the court, artists are appreciating warriors efforts by their singing & dancing, they are appreciating the ladies bravery. Som comes to call Pratap to dance with them & he dances with everyone, all enjoys it, they take Pratap on their shoulders. Dheerbai is informed about the celebrations. Other side, Pratap asks Shakti to dance with him, Sajjyabai too forces him & all kids dance together & Dheerbai stops them & starts nautanki. Pratap says that he's here to take any punishment, she says that he has to promise that he'll never go to battle again, Pratap becomes shocked. She asks that he loves his motherland more than her. Pratap says that yes he loves his motherland more than anything. Uday & his ministers & courteirs to share dinner today with him to celebrate their independence, the food is going to be ordinary to pay respect to soldiers who died in war, Rawatji says that they are highly obliged to share it. On calling, Pratap & Shakti reach there. Maan Singh appreciates Shakti for not troubling him so much, & asks Uday to let him share the dinner. Uday allows & Shakti is going to sit next to Uday but he stops & asks to join some other seat. Uday calls Pratap near & Pratap asks for sorry. Uday says that despite of breaking all rules & regulations, today he makes him & Mewad proud of him & he really wants him to share the dinner by sitting next to him, Shakti doesn't like it, Uday feeds Pratap by his own hands.

Shakti become jealous of Pratap specially how his father behaves with Pratap but not with him. In the Mahal, Bhatiyani true face comes out to the audience. She tells to Kokoya that she never loves Pratap rather she wants to kill Pratap. Her maid Kokoya tries to convince her that she actually loves Pratap but she denies vehemently. She hates him with every fibre of her being!! She makes a show so as not to let anyone gauge what she feels & if she doesn't then everybody will dislike her including Ranaji. Kokoya tells her that everybody knows that Uday Singh only listens to her. She says that inspite of being his favourite it is Jaiwanta who gets to see him off to a war, who gets to sit beside him during the Gauravyatra & Pratap would get that throne then it would be Jaiwanta who would be the Rajmaata. She would be nothing but a second wife to Uday Singh in the history. On the other side Jaiwanta is teaching Pratap to be Lord Ram and treats his siblings like Ram did. Here Bhatiyani loses control & starts punching her own stomach, saying that her son needs to be strong!! Uday enquires about Shams, Rawatji tells that he must have got shelter at Delhi from his brother Shamsher. Rawat introduces some people from lohar/blacksmith society came to meet Pratap. Pratap enters the court, the leader of lohars wish him & Pratap says that he knows him, he's the one who make ammunitions/talwaar etc for their army, they are so obliged, they express their happiness to have him as their would be king for whom they are free from Afghan terror & now don't have to pay taxes also. They organise a puja for Pratap for his health & long life & Pratap wants to go with them to attend the puja, they become so happy, Rawatji is worried for his security but Uday gave permission. Vikram & Shakti denies to go with Pratap but Jaiwanta makes them agree to go with Pratap. In the lohar society, they get a warm welcome, not only Pratap but Vikram & Shakti are welcomed warmly. In the temple, Pratap prays with people there & they gift their ancestoral sword to Pratap & declare him as their king, Pratap takes pledge to protect them. Later, in the palace, Som is designated Pratap as Yuvraj, Dheerbai doesn't like it while Jaiwanta ask Som about it, he tells that the villagers has declared Pratap as their king. On the other side, Rawatji tells this to Uday Singh & asks that its the right time to declare Pratap as their next king. Dheerbai gives Jaiwantabai the glass of thandai to give it to Pratap. When Pratap is about to drink kokoya comes & throws the glass away. The queens get angry & calls the soldiers. She pleads for sorry & says that by mistake she grinds poisioness leaves with mint leaves, Pratap requests to forgive her. Here, Dheerbai slaps kokoya for spoiling her plan, Kokoya says that she has done for her only, if she gets caught Uday will never forgive her. Dheerbai asks her to give idea to kill Pratap. Girijadhai says to Jaiwantabai that she has doubt on some insiders, that there's some people who wants to kill Pratap. Jaiwanta & Pratap are playing hide & seek in the room, Uday notice & join. Dheerbai comes there & Uday catches her instead of Jaiwantabai. Dheerbai becomes angry and starts nautanki and Uday goes with her. As they are leaving, Pratap exclaims at the ants dying around the spilled thandai which Kokoya had spilled. Dheerbai gauges the danger and scolds Kokoya for not maintaining cleanliness & she does all the drama & starts cleaning but Kokoya takes the cloth and goes to clean, stopping her. Uday finally gets his brain back and stops Kokoya from cleaning. He asks Jaiwanta about it. Jaiwanta says that it seems that thandai has been poisoned. Bhatiyani continues nautanki & scolds Kokoya. Kokoya informs that she had mixed the mint leaves and may be some other leaves got mixed. Uday Singhs says that the rule was made that nothing will be fed to Pratap without it being tasted then why isn't it followed. Jaiwanta answers that outside Antarmahal it is being followed, inside the antarmahal the food is considered to be tasted but still there has been a mistake. Uday says this is no mistake and the offender will be punished. Pratap intervenes and defends Kokoya & says that she has saved his life & tells that she had reformed her mistake & that his chotimaa considers Kokoya as mother and in this situation she must not lament for her own. Uday forgives but Dheerbai says that she has punishment for Kokoya that every food for Pratap will be tasted by Kokoya. Jaiwanta puts her foot down and says that this cannot be given to Kokoya & Jaiwanta herself would taste that food. Uday tries to reason with it but Jaiwanta stands firm and Uday has to bow down leaving a red faced Bhaityani. Bhatiyani again fusses over Pratap but Jaywanta stops this big time nautanki!! There is a small eye lock and Bhaityani understands that Jaiwanta is having doubts on her. Girijadhai comes and tells Jaiwanta that there is no poisonous tree around the palace which seems to be confirming the doubts of Jaiwanta. Bhatiyani is again in her big time nautanki and is angry that Pratap is seen as the future of Mewad while Kokoya is all praising Pratap but Bhatiyani tells her not to fall for Pratap's goodness and asks her to remain on her side. Kokoya pledges her loyalty towards her for all eternity. Uday and Rawat are practising blindfolded sword fight, they are talking to each other while practising and Rawat is all praise of Pratap as Uday informs him about the Kokoya incident. Just then Pratap comes in and Uday hearing the foot steps attacking him thinking he is Rawat. Pratap swiftly takes out the sword from the container & protects himself. Uday starts to get angry when he comes to know about this but Rawat again intervenes defending Pratap by praising his swift move. Uday agrees to it. Pratap asks Ranaji why they are still practicing war skills when Mewad is free from Afghans. Rawatji explains him that they are not fully safe yet - the Afghans won't take their defeat lying down and the Mughals, who are way stronger than Afghans may attack India any time and unless all Rajput kings get united against them, Mewad stands no chance in front of them. Pratap vows that he will never let his motherland be enslaved again, no matter how big the sacrifice is this time. Uday sends away Pratap and tells Rawat that in face of Mewad's impending danger from the Mughals and Afghans, he needs to secure Mewad's future in case anything happens to him - it's time to declare Pratap the crown prince of Mewad. Rawat readily agrees to it. Shakti challenges Pratap to find the secret route of escape from Mewad inside the caves, he had to give in. They go searching in the caves. Uday declares to his queens that he wishes to declare Pratap as the Crown Prince of Mewad leaving Bhatiyani shocked.

Bhatyani says that she's not agree with his decision, she says that she is happy but she feels that Pratap is too young to take this responsibility. Sajjabai says that when Shakti gets to know of it, he might be very disappointed, Uday says that as a mother its her responsibility to guide them in such a way that they don't feel bad, & that if one prince declare to be king that doesn't mean the importance of other prince get less, they all are equally important for a state, Sajjyabai is relaxed. Uday asks Jaiwanta about her opinion, she says that she's agree with Bhatyani's statement, Uday was shocked. Jaiwanta says that as a mother she's very happy but firstly she's a queen & as a queen its her suggestion to first train Pratap properly & then declare him the next king, Uday likes her suggestion & decides to find a good teacher for Pratap & Shakti. Other side, Pratap & Som inside the gufa, Som is really scared, Pratap assures him that he's with him, they soon find the hidden door. They see the door opening, Pratap wants to go the other side &the door starts closing, they get scared, Som is panicing. Pratap is trying to stop the door from getting close but it was not possible for him, Shakti & Vikram also come there but leave without helping Pratap. The door becomes closed, Pratap is helpless this side& Som on other side. A person comes to help them, he opens the closed door by hands & asks Pratap to take Som outside. Som is uncouncious, Pratap is looking for water & starts digging the walls for water but that man stops Pratap & shoots an arrow & water comes out & Som is back to his senses, Pratap thanks him. He asks Pratap his introduction. Pratap introduced himself & his brothesr, the man is not very happy with Pratap & says that he's danger for Mewad's future. He scolds Pratap a lot for his irresponsibility of coming in the cave. He taunts Pratap saying what type of king he would be. He continues that Pratap never thinks about this. He concludes that he knows that Pratap would be an less educated, emotional, jealous & proud king. He also mentions that he never teaches someone like Pratap. He departs. Pratap realizes that he has not done anything. He wants to learn from that man. Jaiwantabai tells him that Ranaji tries to find a proper teacher for them. Pratap tells about that man to his Ranima. Jaiwantabai understands that Pratap has already found his teacher. Rawatji finds that he (the savior of Som) is none other than Acharya Raghavendra. Uday Singh goes with his sons to Raghavendra's ashram. Pratap fears that acharya may not agree to teach him. Acharya refuses Ranaji's request to teach his sons. Pratap is determined to learn from him. He approaches Raghavendra politely saying that he does not know anything that's why he comes here to learn from him. Raghavendra becomes soften & says to Uday Singh that the next day he will take an exam of them & who will be successful in it, gets chance to enter the gurukul. Uday agrees. Pratap practices a lot to succeed the entrance test. But unfortunately he fails to succeed while Shakti becomes successful in it. Raghavendra praises Shakti for giving best performance & asks him about his one wish which will be fulfilled by Raghavendra. Shakti wants Pratap's entry. Unwillingly Raghavendra agrees. Uday Singh becomes angry & upset as well. Sajjyabai becomes very much happy & Dheerbai insisting her & she pleads Ranaji to reconsider about his decision of selecting next crown prince. Uday Singh misbehaves with her. Shakti notices all hiding behind. He becomes furious while her mother tries to calm him down. While Pratap becomes very much upset while Jaiwantabai consoles him. Uday Singh tells Pratap that he has no chioce to lose & he have to prove himself best. Pratap assures his dadiraj. Jaiwantabai says that the blessings of his Guru is most important for his life & he has to prove himself to his Guru. Pratap & Shakti meet Uday Singh before going to gurukul. It's their first day. Uday Singh gives his blessings to his sons. Dheerbai again conspires against Pratap by delaying him to reach the gurukul. Raghavendra becomes angry on Pratap for his late entry. He punishes Pratap while he teaches Suryanamaskar to other students including Shakti. Pratap returns back to gurukul when Raghavendra finishes learning for that day & he announces that all students must perform Suryanamaskar perfectly tomorrow otherwise they have no place in this gurukul. Pratap gets tensed. Uday Singh understands that no rajput king is willing to come Mewad for the rajput conference as they don't want to get united, they are not able to see the danger as mughals & afghans. Rawat says that they think that Mewad is not in a position to lead them after the Afghan invasion. Uday says that then the only way out is to show them that Mewad is still the golden bird, he asks to arrange a wrestling competition on a large scale& invite kings & wrestlers from all over India. Bharmal (accountant) says that it will cost them a lost, Uday says that he doesn't care about it. Shams Khan & Shamsher Khan hire Basar Khan to kill Pratap. Uday gets the message along with the head of his dead spy, he gets more angry. He knows Shams & Shamsher are planning against them but he surely doesn't in a position to attack them due to mughal invasion & their battle, they will surely intrude. Rawat asks to tighten the security of royal family, Uday is still determined for wrestling competition. He asks to tighten the security as some unwanted people may intrude the city on the name of competition.
Jaiwanta puts medicine to Pratap's wound, he is angry with himself & shares why he gets late today. Jaiwanta tells him the story of lord Ram & then he says that he'll fight with it & win over it. Pratap tries his best to learn Suryanamaskar from Shakti but Shakti clarifies that acharya has warned them that if they teach surya namaskar to Pratap then he'll punish them, Pratap leaves from there. Then Pratap & Som reach gurukul & Pratap tries to learn from the imprints on ground, Raghvendra comes & scolds him, he ask to complaint Uday but Pratap plead for sorry & leaves, his assistance asks him why is he so strict with Pratap but get scolding from him for interfaring. Pratap is struggling to learn suryanamaskar himself but he is doing it wrong, Uday reaches there & scold him.Pratap tells the real reason to Uday of getting late, Uday is calm down & says that as a father for the first & last time he teaches him surya namaskar, they start it, girija dhai informs Jaiwanta about it, they get happy to see them & on other side, Sajjabai, Bhatyani & Shakti get angry after seeing this. Shams & Samsher hire Basar Khan to kill Pratap & manages to enter inside city after checking, he kills soldiers to enter. Next day, Pratap has reached the Ashram in the early morning to avoid being late when Raghavendra is going to prayer along with his student Shantanu. Raghavendra notices Pratap, while Shantanu asking Pratap about his early visit, the container for bath (Snanpatra) falls down from his hand & Pratap gives him back. Shantanu says sorry to Raghavendra while Pratap becomes surprised. Shantanu mentions that its touched & carried by his best students only. Pratap promises himself that he will be the best student in eyes of Raghanvendra. Pratap performs perfectly Suryanamaskar. Raghanvendra asks him that how he has learned it. Pratap confesses that he has learned it from his dajiraj who helps him first & last time. Pratap requests Raghavendra to give him punishment but not to expel him from the gurukul. Raghavendra becomes soften & orders his all students to perform Suryanamaskar 108 times but they fail to do so. Raghavendra becomes unhappy to see their efforts. He orders them to dig the ground to make a well. Everybody reaches there but denies doing the work of a labourer. They taunt Pratap who is digging without question. He motivates them to dig. The digging is going on. Chakrapani & Benidas pick up a fight and Pratap tries to stop that when Raghvendra comes and he thinks that Pratap is not doing the digging work. He chides Pratap and tells him to continue the digging work after the sunset also. Shakti gets happy seeing this. Pratap doesn't divulge the truth about the other students refusing the digging initially. In the Mahal, Bhatiyani is getting food ready to be sent to Gurukul as she wants to put Pratap in trouble. Jaiwanta comes and stops the food from going. Bhatiyani argues with her and says that she too has rights over Pratap as she is the chhoti ma. Jaiwanta rebutts and tells her that SHE is the Maharani of the Mahal and nothing will happen in the Mahal without her permission. The students are tired of the hard labour but Pratap keeps on giving them courage to go on and finish the task. It is lunch time when Benidas refuses to eat the simple food and complains to Pratap for not using the privileges of a prince and doing away with such an arrogant teacher. He coaxes Pratap to get someone else appointed to teach them in Raghavendra's place. The wise Pratap replies that if he does so he would never get the pearls of knowledge that Raghavendra can impart. Raghavrndra is not happy to hear of such thought of insubordination and punishes his students with continuous digging without a break till the well is ready. The weary boys carry on with the task. Shakti has had enough and decides to complain about Raghvendra toUday but It is mentioned to Shakti in clear terms that he cannot hope for preferential treatment on being the king's son and is warned to not disturb the king on this matter ever again. If he did so, he would be punished with imprisonment. Shakti is very surprised and hurt at the reception of the matter by the king. Basar Khan on the other hand cleverly extracts information about Mewad, Uday Singh & heroic Pratap. Ahmed Khan unknowingly in his Mewad bhakti passes vital information for Basar Khan to exploit in the future. Here, the students continue to dig and finally manage to build a makeshift well. Raghavendra is unhappy with the quality of work. He orders the boys to continue working and finish building the well so that it is fit for being used. Pratap tries to put across the grievances of the boys with the teaching methods in a gentle and humble manner to his teacher. Raghavendra hears it with in an expressionless manner & states the students can leave if they wish to. Pratap tries to pacify his teacher's anger stating it was not their intention to leave. The students do not agree with Pratap and express their desire to leave the tutelage of Raghavendra. Pratap tries to convince them other wise but is unsuccessful. A kneeling Pratap in front of his guru as his friends get ready to leave the premises. Raghavendra orders Pratap to perform Suryanamaskar & he asks other students to do so if they want. Everyone starts suryanamaskar & this time they do more than 108 times but do not realizes that. Raghavendra tells them they has done so because of their strenuous work of last 7 days. They realize their fault & salute Raghavendra & promise him that they will never let him down again at any cost. Next day, Jaiwanta wishes Uday all the best for laxman dangal. In the gurukul, Pratap denies using wooden sword as he is capable of using actual sword. Raghavendra puts a substance on Chakrapani's head & gives Pratap his sword & tells to cut that substance. Pratap fails & understands his fault. Everyone starts practising with wooden sword. Pratap hesitates as he has wound in his hand but doesn't tell it. When he fails to fight with Shakti, Raghavendra taunts him, Chakrapani discloses the truth that why Pratap continuously fails. Raghavendra checks Pratap's hand & asks that why Pratap has not informed about it. Pratap mentions Raghavendra's saying that physical weakness turns into the weakness of the character and Pratap already mistakes not trusting his way of teaching, then how can he dishonour him saying about his wound. Raghavendra becomes pleased & permits to go them in the lakshman dangal. In Lakshman dangal, Basar Khan aka Ibrahim Khan wins & gets appointed as the wrestling trainer in the gurukul. The students at the gurukul are given the task of putting harness on the horses and riding them. Raghavendra as usual makes the task difficult for Pratap by giving him a different kind of harness to use for the horse that he is supposed to ride. Pratap asks for help but is sternly told by his guru to learn it by trial and error. Raghavendra cautions his students to not go past the red flag which has been put as the point of return for them. Pratap is the only want left there struggling to put the harness on the horse & Ibrahim Khan uses the opportunity to lend a helping hand to Pratap by showing him the proper way of tying the harness on the horse. The man cleverly manages to put in leeches so that the Pratap's horse ride can be in jeopardy. Pratap catches up with the his fellow students but his relief is momentary. The leeches have started to trouble Pratap's horse and it becomes uncontrollable. The horse runs away with Pratap in tow who is unable to control his horse. The students soon loose sight of him and are unable to find him despite their best efforts. The news is conveyed to Raghavendra who wants to go in search of Pratap. Ibrahim offers to accompany him. Raghavendra is worried on the fact that if Pratap and his horse have gone past the red flag they might be in deep trouble. The reason being a deep treacherous ditch lay ahead. Ibrahim offers to look for Pratap on that end requesting Raghavendra to search around the area where Pratap has gone missing. Ibrahim spots Pratap struggling with his horse and aims his knife at the neck of Pratap. The blow is fatal and Pratap falls to the ground. The gleam of victory in Ibrahim's eyes sparkles as does a smile on his lips. He has managed to slain the scion of the kingdom of Chittor. In themeantime in the palace, Jaiwantabai is informed by the royal physician about the presence of poison in the glass that was meant for Pratap to drink from. Jaiwanta is shattered to come face to face with the truth that her son would have been killed. She recovers herself from the state of shock and decides to confront Bhatiyani with her finding. Bhatiyani cleverly denies Jaiwantabai involvement in trying to poison Pratap. They argue while Uday breaks the conversation in anger asking Jaiwanta to stop casting aspersions on Bhatiyani. He does not believe in Jaiwanta's accusations. Bhatiyani again starts nautanki & Uday denies all facts given by Jaiwantabai & vows that he will never see her face again. At that time, Pratap's missing news reaches in the palace. Jaiwantabai prays to her Kanaji while Raghavendra chants the Mahamrityunjay Mantra. Here Pratap is struggling in between death & lives where the God Eklingaji helps him to be alive. Raghavendra apologizes to Uday not to find Pratap & when he is about to resign from his posts, Pratap returns back to Gurukul with the help of Som. Raghavendra asks him about his disappearance. Pratap tells everything which seems unbelievable to others but Raghavendra understands the inner truth of it. Vaid confirms that Pratap is given poison. Jaiwantabai wants to leave Chittor along with Pratap but later she changes her decision seeing Dheerbai's ambition. Pratap notices leeches while he was struggling with the horse. Som confims that those leeches are not found in Mewad rather found in North. Unknowingly Pratap shares this with Ibrahim Khan who advises him not to disclose it to others. Rawatji gets proof that Pratap is being targeted to kill & he rushes to gurukul. In the gurukul, the students practise Bhala & Raghavendra becomes pleased with Pratap's performance. Ibrahim tries again to kill Pratap but he himself becomes in trouble while Pratap tries to save him, few minutes later Raghandra & other students come there & save Ibrahim. Rawatji reaches & asks Pratap whether he knows that someone wants to kill him. Pratap confesses that he knows but he hides this truth otherwise no one permits him to go to gurukul. He continues on asking about leeches. Shantanu points towards Ibrahim as he is the one who comes from the north. Ibrahim accuses Ahmed for this & they rush to Ahmed's house where they find Ahmed dead. Raghavendra comes to know about goodness of Ahmed & how he once saved Pratap. He makes a plan to find the actual culprit & sends the students to the jungle in the night as a part of their task. He informs Uday about it & Uday gets angry & rushes towards the jungle. Here, in the jungle, Raghavendra spots Ibrahim but Ibrahim traps him, while Pratap almost finishes the task. Ibrahim attacks Pratap & Pratap counterattacks well. At last Raghavendra comes & kills Ibrahim. Raghavendra & Pratap both are worried for each other as both are hurt. Raghavendra congratulates Pratap & gifts his khajari to him. Uday reaches there & praises Raghavendra. Uday requests Raghavendra to teach Pratap in the palace instead of gurukul for his safety. Raghavendra refuses saying - kaanto par chalkei mahaan bana jata hei'. Uday unwillingly agrees. Now Raghavendra becomes more tough with Pratap. They learn blindfolded sword fight in the gurukul. Here new boy is born & is named Jagmal by Pratap. Now the time is come when Pratap & Shakti competes each other for the best student title of the gurukul. Bhatiyani continues insisting Sajjabai & Shakti to change Ranaji's decision. She suggests Uday to give fair chance to Pratap & Shakti & Uday changes his mind. In the meantime, the relation of Shakti with his father becomes worse. Now the gurukul competition turns to choose the future crown prince. Raghavendra & Mewad's sammant are not happy with it. Bhatiyani encourages Shakti while Jaiwantabai encourages Pratap saying its the competition & your opponent is not your brother rather just a competitor. In the other side, Shams Khan plans to kill Pratap during the competition.

Bhatiyani again conspires & Pratap becomes severely hurt before the competition. Pratap assures his dajiraj to give best performance in the competition. The day comes but Pratap is unable to properly stand & hold the sword. He breaks down while Som informs Raghavendra about it. Raghavendra comes & motivates him. He confirms that Pratap is his best student so far. Pratap manages to reach the ground. Everyone becomes so happy. In spite of being hurt, Pratap wins the competition against Shakti and walks blindfolded towards the Mewar flag to announce his victory. Som eventually finds that Shams has spread explosive powder that lead to the flag. Finding it as a danger to Pratap's life, Som runs towards Pratap to save him but sacrifices his own life in the process. Angry Pratap sights Shams Khan nearby and involves in a battle with him. Shams challenges Pratap to one on one battle and runs into the jungle. Pratap follows him and so does Rawatji. Raghavendra and Rawatji see Pratap & Shams fighting each other. Raghavendra stops Rawatji from helping Pratap to finish the fight. Prataps kills Shams on motivation by the people present there along with Rawatji & his teacher & apologizes to Uday for taking matters in his own hands. Pratap visits Som's house, to find the family distraught over Som's loss. Dheer bai upset that Pratap has won the competition making him the nest heir to the throne. Shakti is irate about his loss to Pratap. Raghavendra announces Pratap as his favorite student & his margdarshak as well. Pratap thanks him for teaching & motivating through his bad time. Then he retires from duties of being Guru and leaves for Kaashi.

Meanwhile, Shakti kills the watch guard who speaks insulting words about his father and escapes the jail. He goes straight to his mother Sajjabai. Egoistic Shakti does not accept to go back to jail on Pratap's insistent and tries to take his mother forcefully with him out of the palace. Pratap does not allow him to leave the palace premises by fighting him. When Uday learns of Shakti's misdeed, he sends his guard to arrest Shakti at any cost. Shakti is captured & is presented in front of the king. Uday Singh disowns him as a son and asks him as a king what compelled him to kill the guard Bhanu Singh. Shakti denies killing him & before he can say anything more in his defense, Bhanu Singh's wife enters the courtroom asking for justice. All the queens try to save Shakti but the king is hell bent on punishing Shakti. Pratap finds out the actual truth and tries to reveal it to the Uday but he has already decided to give death sentence to Shakti. Pratap decides to help Shakti even when Shakti neither tells him the truth nor helps him in anyway. Pratap manages to go to Rawatji's palace at night and requests him to help save Shakti. He agrees and they both leave together to stop the death sentence. Uday questions Shakti for the last time for his unruly conduct but Shakti refrains from answering. When Jaiwanta gives her blessings to Shakti he demands that his mother Sajjabai be given the same respect and pride that a Mewad queen deserves as his last wish before death. She promises to fulfil his last wish. The shocking truth comes out to Uday & Shakti becomes free but he can't stay with his father & decides to leave Mewad.

Pratap - Uday Singh: The Rana of Mewar Uday Singh is a strict father...but he loves his son dearly. As a father, he knows his son's strength, is aware of Pratap's talents and trusts him fully. But as a king and as a father to more than one son, he cannot show it openly. His trust in Pratap's ability is strong.

Pratap on the other hand knows how his father feels for him. He respects his father a lot. His father's words are a command for him. For Pratap, his father is next to God. He never goes against his father's commands directly. But pratap is also a patriot. He cannot stand aside and see his motherland in trouble. So if his janmabhumi is in trouble, he finds out one way or the other to protect her. Pratap also is not blind to Uday Singh's faults. But never will Pratap rage at his father. He shows his father the faults gently and with respect. All these qualities of Pratap endear him to his father.

Pratap - Jaiwanta Bai:Janani Janmabhumisha Swargadapi Gariyasi

If anyone understands not the meaning but the actual essence of these lines, it is Kunwar Pratap. For Pratap, his Mother comes next only to motherland. He loves her to the core, respects her like none other, adores her, and trusts her. The influence of Jaiwanta Bai is so strong that Pratap even wants his future life partner to have the qualities and mannerisms of his mother.

And it is Jaiwanta Bai who has made Pratap this strong, this able and so patriotic. Essentially, a mother is the first teacher of her child, she is the one who moulds her child and Jaiwanta Bai really did just that with her son Pratap. Whatever qualities Pratap possesses, be it courage, bravery, respect for elders, empathy for his subjects - it's all due to her influence. She is the one constant who has taken a central role in making Pratap what he is today. Their relation is one to be adored, loved and respected.

Pratap - Raghavendra:

Guru Brahma Guru Vishnu Guru Devo Maheshwara

Guru Sakshaat Param Brahma tasmai Shree Gurave Namah

Ajnyaana TimiraAndhasya Jnyaananjana Shaalaakaaya

Chakshur Unmilitam Yena tasmai Shree Gurave Namah

Meaning: The Guru who is Brahma, the Guru who is Vishnu, The Guru who is maheshwara, The Guru who is verily the form of Supreme Brahman, salutations be to that Guru.

Salutations to the guru who removes the darkness of ignorance from our blind inner eyes by applying the collyrium of the light of the knowledge and who opens our inner eyes of knowledge.

These shlokas aptly describe the relationship between Pratap and his Guru Raghavendra. Though Pratap was talented, yet his talent and his good qualities were covered in the cloak of ignorance. Though he was aware of his duties he had no idea of the right way of discharging it. He was a lump of clay, wet, weak waiting to be given a shape, the strength and the knowledge. N Raghavendra took this unformed Pratap and moulded him into Kunwar Pratap - the courageous, patriotic, independent, dependable and responsible warrior and son.

So much is Raghavendra's trust on Pratap that even when rana Uday Singh was against his son, Raghavendra stood by his shishya with full trust and by taking a lot of risk. Such is the relationship between Guru and Shishya that Raghavendra was even ready to take responsibility of incidents when Pratap was in a fix.

Pure , perfect, out of the world and so heavenly. This Guru Shishya pair is one of its kind.

Pratap - Ajabde: Wo Purush hai... Mai hun Prakriti

Wo Shiv hai...To mai uski Shakti

He is calm, she is calmer. She is brave, he is braver. They are so similar yet so different. They love their motherland, know about the dangers lurking behind the shadows and harbour the dream of uniting Rajputana.

AJabdeh adores Pratap for his courage valour and bravery. But more so she respects the person that he is.. strong, calm and dependable. Her traumatic past has actually helped her become more sensitive and caring.

Pratap is smitten by her simplicity and down to earth nature. He sees in her the reflection of his mother Jaiwanta Bai. He loves her for her understanding nature and her calmness.

Together they make a beautiful pair, and complement each other so well. They don't need words to express their feelings. They can even understand each other's silence. And that's what makes them so special.

Pratap - Meera Bai: Perhaps one of the greatest devotee of Krishna, Meera Bai has a deep influence on Pratap. The wife of the elder brother of Uday Singh, she stays away from the family and has a different ideology. Pratap though is greatly affected by her and her thoughts. As a young 14 year old, he doesn't want war and bloodshed. And Meera teaches him about karma and dharma thereby playing an important role in shaping his personality. Under her influence Pratap becomes a devotee of Geeridhari. Pratap admires and respects his Meera Maa a lot.

Pratap and His Friends:

"A true friend freely, advises justly, assists readily, adventures boldly, takes all patiently, defends courageously, and continues a friend unchangeably."

Pratap and his friends are the best examples of friendship. They love each other, care for each other, worry about each other, live and can even die for each other. Though they are from different classes of society, so different in their nature, behaviour and status yet nothing comes in the way of their friendship. He and his friends Chakrapani and Veeni Sen are inseparable.

Chakrapani, this cute and adorable Brahmin boy is the cupid in Pratap Ajabdeh's love story.

Som ,the cute little boy who sacrifice his life to save Pratap n their Mother land...som who always stood by his friend Pratap...May be their are from different status but they were friends who share their likes & dislikes ,Pain & gain..

Seeing such an example of friendship, we can say that "Don't walk behind me; I may not lead. Don't walk in front of me; I may not follow. Just walk beside me and be my friend."

Albert Camus

Pratap Ajabde Phool Kunwar: This is no love triange but getting Phool Kunwar, the Princess of Marwar is politically convenient. The two girls are the best of friends, yet they are so opposite in nature. While AJabde is calm, controlled and understanding, Phool is nave, spoilt and a tantrum queen. They care for each other and love each other like sisters. Ajabde cares for Phool and Phool in turn loves Ajabde.

Pratap doesn't want to talk much with Phool... his eyes are fixed firmly on AJabdeh Phool but still occasionally talks with Phool for Ajabde's sake as he doesn't want to hurt the latter.

Phool however is enamoured of Pratap and has this huge crush on him. She wants Pratap for herself and though she is aware that Pratap doesn't like her as much as he does Ajabde, is not comfortable with her yet she chooses to ignore it.

AJabde is aware of Phool's all-consuming infatuation with Pratap and chose to sacrifice her love. Her knowledge of political conditions of the country played a key role in this decision because this marriage alliance between Phool and Pratap would have far reaching impact on RAajputana and will unite Marwar and Mewar, thereby leading to a new chapter in the history of Rajputana.

Pratap and Jalaal: The two brave warriors of Indian history are at loggerheads. Jalaal wants to rule over the entire country, more so over the Rajputana... Pratap is a patriot who values his independence and guards it with a great amount of zeal and effort. Jalaal's wish of ruling over Rajputana is so strong that he plots and plans to bring those areas under Mughal Flag. Pratap's wish for independence and his love for his motherland are so strong that he wants to keep the Rajputana flag flying high. Both have a one track mind, both are dedicated towards their goal, both will stop at nothing to fulfil their dreams. In this fight of two warriors who are equally matched in power and valour, who wins the war, is what remains to be seen.

From princess _Flavia

Hello All...

Heartiest Congratulations to the entire team, cast and crew of Maharana Pratap on the successful completion of 1 year of the show...

Truly said, every serial drags on nowadays, but to keep it interesting and to be able to attract the viewers takes hard work and given the way the show has still retained the interest, the entire team has done an admirable job.

I still remember the day when I had first seen the promos of the show before it was aired. I waited eagerly for the D Day, so excited was I. Truth be told, the first glimpse of Faizal as Pratap did not impress me... yet I was indignant when his younger brother Shakti made it to the mango tree in the Afgan area saying that "Jo aap kar sakte hain wo hum bhi kar sakte hain" And I had thought... "Heavens...serial shuru hua nahi aur pehla virodhi abhi se aa gaya."

But the moment Faizal made it to the palace and his scenes with Jaiwanta Bai and Dheerbai Bhattiyani started showing I was just stuck with the expressions on the face of the young Pratap. That he could hold his own in the presence of such senior and powerful actresses was not only commendable but spoke greatly of his talent.

Over the course of the serial, I got busy with my studies and career and could not follow the show on a regular basis but I made it a point to catch up with it whenever I could.

Another favourite of mine is Raghavendra... I had caught the episode where Raghavendra taunts Pratap saying that if you are the future of Mewar then I don't know what will happen to Mewar tomorrow. But when he finally moulded Pratap and the interaction between Guru and Shishya was beautiful that it made a permanent place in my heart.

The third thing I could watch properly was Pratap Ajabde interaction. Hats off to these two youngsters for doing such justice to the characters given to them. I loved the way they understood each other, exhibited rights on each other, loved and respected each other.

And the naughty, naive and selfish Phool Kunwar... You rock girl... you are no less than them. You have done this role so perfectly that it is believable and dear even with Phool's faults and failings. So human, so imperfect but still lovable.

I can go on and on but I will stop here.

Once again a very happy anniversary to the Team Maharana Pratap...!!! May you keep rocking the screens for yet another year...!!!

From mythili2

MP celebrations
