Ashish Bisht in Onir's 'Shab'

Filmmaker Onir has cast Ashish Bisht as the lead in his upcoming project Shab.

Bisht makes his big screen debut opposite Arpita Pal in the film which will be largely be shot in Delhi.


Speaking about how he secured the role, the actor told Digital Spy: "I first auditioned for Onir in 2011. At that time he told me that I have potential, but was still not ready.

"I then shifted from Delhi to Mumbai to train myself and to achieve my dreams.

"When Onir started auditioning for Shab I was shortlisted, but it took five more months of intensive training in Urdu and acting before I was finally lucky enough to be selected as the main lead," he added.

Describing Aamir Khan and Ranbir Kapoor as his role models in Bollywood, the model-turned-actor has already appeared in over 100 TV and print adverts. 

A story of a woman falling in love with a younger man, Shab is Onir's fifth release and first production since winning two National Awards for anthology film I Am.
