This is one of my favorite scenes from Kankar.

Kiran: Sikandar doosri shaadi kar raha hai Arzoo se...

Kiran's mom: kisne bataya hai tumhein?

Kiran: college main har taraf yehi shor macha huwa hai

Kiran's mom: pachtawa ho raha hai?

Kiran: Nahi...pachtawa nahi ho raha lekin mujhe takleef ho rahi hai ke woh itni jaldi shaadi kyun kar raha hai?...jaise usse mere jaane se koi farq hi nahi para? koi guilt bhi nahi hai usse? koi pachtawa...koi zameer ki chubhan?..,koi sharmindigi? kuch toh?

Kiran's mom: Bohat bahadur ho tum. Mujhe tumhe dekh kar aik ajeeb sa ehsaas e kamtari ka ehsaas hota hai. Main tumhari umar main bohat buz dil thi - kamzor, masleyhaton ke maari hui. Main kabhi bhi apna tahafuz nahi kar saki jaise tumne karliya hai. Mujhe rushk aata hai tum par. Fakhar hai tum par. Sikandar kab shaadi karta hai, kisse shaadi karta hai...tumhein iss baat par bilkul bhi nahi rona chahiye. Tum koi mamooli larki nahi ho.

Aik shaqs se mohabbat insaan ko kitna majboor kar deti hai. Maine zindagi mein kissi ki bhi parwa na ki..aur ab is shaqs ki parwa ki toh mujhe ehsaas hua hai ke muhabbat karne ke baad bandey ko kitna jhukna parta hai...sirf iss khauf main ke kahin doosra aap ko chor na de.

I haven't read Amar Bail (Umera Ahmed) myself but this quote is so true.

Duniya main larkiyon sey ziadah koi ahmaq nahi hota. Khush fahmi ka aghaaz aur ikhtatam hum par hi hota hai. Humain mard kay baray main yeh khush fehmi hoti hai kah woh aaiga.. koi hum sey hamdardi karay tou humain khush fehmi honay lagti hai ... koi humari taareef karay tou woh humain apni mutthi main qaid nazar aanay lagta hai. Koi humare saath waqt guzaray toh humaray hosh o hawas apnay thikanay par nahi rahtay.. hum main maturity tab aati hai jab humain reject kia jaata hai.

@Star I have never read the novel.. But I have a feeling that I have seen or heard it somewhere .. :O

I loved loved loved the novel. Have read it three times 😆. Tried to watch the drama couldn't sit through a single episode.. It was that bad. Idk if they are dramatizing it again or not.. I hope they take a better director and better actors for the serial.

What drama was based on Amar Bail? I haven't even read the novel and I have no idea what it's about but I just wanna know..😆
