Dutta's den
Dutta stands in his room silently. Has a FB, him drinking holy water, Naku prevents him from drinking it; Kishore's voice, "had Nakusha not got there in time, none of us would be alive". Dutta takes a deep breath and moves his head a bit, than speaks to her, Naku! by now you must have understood that whatever I feel inside my heart, the same comes out of my mouth. I am not sure what you're after? or what your motives are? but, what you did for my family today, I cannot repay this favour all my life. Naku smiles shyly at his acknowledgement. With a stiff attitude he says, that's all I had to say, and he turns to leave.. but Naku stops him and delays him with her answer, Saab! whatever I did , I did it for you. if something had happened to you what would become of me? I cannot live without you! such a bold statement for Naku to give.. her straightforwardness does stun me at times. I don't know when you are going to trust me? whatever I do there is no condition behind it. I only did my duty. I don't want anything else. The one I love, I never even attempted to obtain his love. Dutta hears her out and rigidly says, go to sleep, you must be tired. We don't know what the following day will bring into our lives. He looks down, and she smiles with new hope and dreams in her eyes that his words gives her.. as she watches him leave his room and go down the stairs. She folds her hands before Bappa's idol. kept in his room.
Dutta & Baji
In the blue misty light of the bar , Dutta progresses towards it, sits down on the bar stool. He reaches out for the bottle and her words ring in his ear, "whatever I did , I did for you"... "if something had happened to you I wouldn't survive, don't know when you will trust me, whatever I do, there's no motive behind it, whom I loved, never tired to get his love".. Dutta puts the bottle on the bar surface, and turns his head suddenly as he feels Baji's hand on his shoulder. Baji says, I don't understand Bhau.. whether this Nakusha is true or fake? don't get it? Bhau ,was that Naku true who became your friend? or that who orchestrated such a big betrayal? or is it possible that whole incident was fake! and Naku was telling the truth?. Dutta walks away from Baji , as confused as his mate. Bhau we understand well the Hyderabad based Anna! but to understand Naku's brain is a big challenge! says Baji. Dutta muses on what his friend points out.. Baji moves closer to him and says, Bhau there has to be something, that is hidden from our eyes? Bhau! something concealed that we cannot fathom.. Bhau there is something! Dutta turns to look at Baji , then turns away and wanders off.. unable to answer Baji's questions, but taking them as food for thought.
Dutta 's den
Naku stands in the shadows of his room. She walks towards the mirror..dressed in red she looks at herself, and her eyes fall on the pot of vermilion. She looks at her bare parting then applies the vermillion in it to celebrate her identity as a married woman. She smiles at herself and walks awa , to his window that overlooks the in door garden patch with the pond. She parts the drapes and lets in the blue moonlight on herself. She looks up at the moon across the sky and her whole being smiles... she says Saab , today you trusted Naku a little bit , as you admitted that what ever I did , I did for you.. there's no foul play in this. I was sure Bappa would bring out the truth some day! we'll become good friends again! not only that! we'll be an exemplary married couple as well.. when soon you will accept me to be yours! soon! Naku dreams on...
The winds grow stronger and Dutta comes out preoccupied, into the garden area. He strolls deep in the thought.. Baji's voice resounds in his mind ,Bhau Naku saved your life this is the truth! if this girl had an ulterior motive , she wouldn't have saved your life!.. he stops his stroll and looks up and finds her standing in his window bathed in blue moon light. kaminey song plays as he moves on.. and then stops and sees her smiling up at the moon.Dutta has FBs of when he first meets her... how she says, Saab save me; how he sees her face in the rear mirror; pumps water for her , her saying thanks; how he gets shot; how she takes him to the hospital; how she gave him blood; Baji telling Aye Sahib this girl saved Bhau's life; Dutta saying you are brave and I value and respect brave people; how she stops him from drinking; him taking her shopping and buying her a gift; chunni, the teddy.. Dutta looks up at her in his window, and turns his face away from her with a scowl..comes in towards the pond.. FB, how she tells, him give yourself another chance, this marriage; Supriya's image; he sinks beside the pond.. looks at his refelction.. recalls his engagement to Supriya; how he tells Naku because of her, he's making a new beginning; his wedding day; Baji saying Supriya has eloped with Ravi ; Kala reading Supriya's letter saying , Naku helped her elope! ;Dutta moaning to Naku I told you my past and this how you abused me; he covers his eyes as he hears Babi's cries, Bhau my daughter loves you; Dutta points gun at Naku's head; Naku admits it's true I love you ,have always done so! Dutta looks at his reflection in the pond. FB,Kala accuses Naku , you were not helping Supriya but your self! Dutta screaming in his room! Dutta taking marriage pheras with her; saying congratulations Naku , welcome to hell!; don't think this is a mangal sutra, it's a garrotte round your neck!.. he sees her reflection next to him in the pond.. he turns his head up to his window , and Naku smiles and recedes back into his room... and she slowly walks back and sits down at the end of his bed with her arms around her knees, she smiles as she recalls his words, no one knows what tomorrow brings in our lives? Dutta throws a pebble at her reflection in the pond , with a scowl on his face. Then turns roughly gets up and walks back in his huge house.. and his lone figure in a black pathiani cuts through the blue moon light.and returns to his present ..
Next morning
Both families of Dutta and Naku are assembled in the lounge. Naku stands, a lone figure dressed in red , ready for some trial. All others seems like part of the spectators gallery.. it's obvious they await the arrival of the judge Dutta Bhau. Naku smiles as she looks up for his arrival too.. Babi and Ganpat stand side by side and look nervous. Then his shoes appear and Dutta appears in his traditional black pathiani. and stands with his legs slightly apart with his arms held behind his back.. Naku looks across to him.. all wait to be told why they have been asked to assemble here.. Dutta stands with a fixed unsmiling blank expression. Dutta's eyes check if all relevant people are present.. his eyes fall on Naku who smiles at him in anticipation.. Kala wonders what's cooking.. Dutta begins formally, I have called you here for something important. All try to gather what it might be? in my life I have encountered death many times, he steps down, and walks amidst them deep in thought, but yesterday for the very first time I feared death, not for myself but for my family.. very first time it dawned on me that had anything happened to any of you.. I would have never be able to forgive myself.. Kala wonders who he is specifically talking about.. she can see Naku looking smitten in Dutta's direction. Dutta looks at Naku too, and walks towards her slowly, and stands before her..had you not arrived at the right time yesterday,anything could have happened..its like he makes a public acknowledgement of her act of bravery.. Babi looks on proudly. Dutta carries on, after me Anna's men could have targeted anyone else..he says to Naku .. this debt of yours I will never forget .. he admits before all. Naku looks up into his face as, her parents smile and Kishore too is pleased. Dutta's sisters are not too pleased. Dutta turns his head.. and says loudly for all to hear... you have one more time saved my life! in fact my whole family's.. I know since a month due to all that's happening you are not happy.. all of you have been hurt with my decisions.. but today's decision that I am about to inform you about.. I hope that you will be happy when you hear it. Aye Sahib listens, puzzled. All wait for it expectantly,Kishore smiles and hopes for the best . Babi seems weary.. Dutta turns to Naku and says loudly for all to hear, with my own hands I put the garrotte in Nakusha's neck! Naku grabs it.. as Kala gets excited.. I punished her! shouts Dutta, today I release you from that punishment, this relationship and my self! I free you! I free you! his voice resounds like thunder! Kala's happiness is so evident in her contented face. Sudarshan smirks. Kishore is in shock. Baji confused, Babi in total disbelief. Ganpat frowns.Naku looks up into Dutta's face in utter helplessness, as he continues, you are free from my punishment! Dutta roars at her! from today you have been set free from this bond! Babi looks down in disappointment ..Kala looks at her sisters in joy that is hard to conceal. Sudarshan too smiles.. Naku stands too shocked to speak or to look at him, but he continues to talks to her, I don't know if you'll be able to forget this previous hell, no one can change the past, not even me.. but the approaching future is in our hands Nakusha , forget the past! look to the future! and move on! Aye sahib is proud of her son , so is Baji .. Dutta says, Nakusha yesterday what you for did my family , has erased all your past wrong doings! because of you my family exists! I will forget that night , which brought darkness in our lives.. you too forget it!... Naku Babi are heart broken , the evil trio smile in elation. Naku stands next to his shoulder and looks across at him completely dispirited. Dutta once spoken , turns and leaves, as Naku looks on.. she stands like a prisoner in the docks who has been given a death sentence. Her family.. grieves,.. Dutta 's sisters celebrate!
Dutta's den
Naku returns to his room, looking like death.. she looks around and then looks at her trunk with her clothes on top.. she recalls his voice, by know you know I speak what ever is in my heart.. I don't know what you want? you have bought me , as I am indebted to you.. she sees his bed with his black pathiani on the bed..she folds it neatly and holds his folded pathiani on her two palms then with one palm she feels his collar.. she recalls, his verdict.. today I set you free from this punishment, this relationship and myself..

The episode to me till date is one that creates a gamut of emotions in me for the male protagonist.. the knee jerk reaction is one loathing at his self- centeredness, and arrogance ..
Dutta causes a major upheaval in the story.. he believes in return for her saving his family's lives, he in turn is doing her justice by setting her free from his imposed bondage .. this law of taking captive; meting out punishment ; passing judgment of death; or granting freedom to the wrong doer, is all good in the rule book of his trade..
The problem arises when Dutta in his short sightedness applies this rule to his personal nuptial life.. where his wife makes clear that she has formed a relationship of love with him. Dutta is unable to handle this , it's outside his trade domain, where he has to be cut throat and savage not soppy and emotional!
In Dutta's profession.. the enemy is not to be loved or trusted but to hated and his intentions forever suspected .. never taken for granted..
Dutta and Baji discussion, shows the weariness the two men feel when Naku who has fallen from grace, continues to baffle them? they acknowledge she is more complicated to decipher from what they come across generally.. they try to nit- pick between her actions and intent..
Dutta still continues to wrestle with Naku's past history in his life and her present actions that make him inclined to accept her sincerity..
In comparison Naku is shown as the eternal dreamer.. she can only think positive. She believes in his goodness that he will forgive her past shortfalls as today she has scored a small victory in regaining a bit of his trust..
To me as a member of Dutta Bhau's gang, inspite of saving his life many times she still has not won Dutta Bhau's full trust..
The question is does Dutta Bhau ever allow Dutta the man in him to ever trust any one?? yet another question is does Dutta Bhau trust the wrong people? as he is incapable of differentiating between what seems and what is?
As much as Naku's love for Dutta is consistent come what may.. Dutta 's behaviour is forever subject to change and unpredictable. Is this due to the fact that within his trade it is a technique to stay elusive and give a false sense of security to the other person .. when Naku expects him to accept her fully in his life he informs her and all his marriage has ended..
But the biggest question that pops up is that after seeing this episode is , is Dutta just in setting Naku free[make her sound like a domesticated animal] in terms of showing his gratitude? is he right to release her from his punishment.. is this setting her free, letting her go, a middle path, a cooling off period, he opts for? in my opinion in his situation where he lets go off her..he is really saying he is forgiving her i.e his anger is flushed out.. thus leaving both with a fair chance, with a hope of starting afresh.. for had he accepted her straight away from hating her to loving her..he would be forcing himself rather than making the willing choice of falling in love with her...

Loved the ud ...i too felt same when I watched the episode & it seem like today...dutta asking her to forget everything...how could they all be so selfish
