INTRODUCTION
Jalaluddin Mohammad was the current ruler of Mughal Kingdom, the so called Shehenshah. It was 5 yrs ago that an unfortunate incident resulted in the death of his father Humayun and an young Jalal had to take over the reigns of Mughal empire in India. Now at the age of 30 he was the undisputed king of most parts of North India but more importantly a very good ruler. His subjects were very pleased and respected him & Jalal always put his kingdom & his people first .
He was a great ruler and over the 5 yrs he had surpassed his formers, he would make his move in a calculated way, never attack another kingdom but give them a chance to accept him as their ruler & take whatever was the necessary taxes from them be it money, gold, land or men.
At the age of 27 he married Rukaiya who was one of his father's friend's daughter, and Saleema at the age of 29 it was more of a marriage of convenience. Both women were of good bred and always looked to please him serve him. Jalal knew they literally worshipped him but he could never bring himself to love them... it was one emotion which was missing in him. He could never trust a women especially after his mother had left him at his young age to be with his father on his various battles. He would have been lost had it not been for Badi Ammi aka Mahamanga his chief Advisor cum Minister who brought him up as his own child.
It was a hot summer day when our first chapter begins...
Part -1 - Jalal Meets Jodha
Jalal in his darbaar
Rashid (Jalal's Army chief) - Adaab Shehenshah aapse kuch zaroori baat karni thi.
Jalaal - Kahiye
Rashid - Amer ki saltanat ke paas ka jo hamara gaon hai waha se kuch log ek aarzoo le ke aye hai.
Jalal - Kya taklif hain unki
Rashid - who gaaon jungle ke kareeb hai or waha ek khatarnak sher logon ko bahut pareshaan kar raha hai, ab tak 10 logonko maar chuka hai, hume kisi tarha uss sher ko khatam karna hain. Agar aap hukum de toh hum isi waqt apne sipahi ko bhej ke us sher ko khatam karwadenge.
Jalal - Hum khud jayenge Rashid bahut din huye shikar kiye .
Rashid - Lekin shehenshah yeh to bahut choti si baat hain iskeliye aap khud...
Jalal - Kya ek shehenshah hokar hum koyi chota kaam nahi kar sakte? Hum aaj hi niklenge yaha se
Jalal dresses himself as an ordinary hunter and leaves with a 10 men army & by next day reaches the jungles near Amer.
Meanwhile in Amer...
Jodha was a Rajput princess of Amer who was very friendly & kind hearted.
Jodha and her servant Moti were returning from their friend's house in the neighbouring kingdom.
Moti - Hame aise akele nahin aana chahiye tha Jodha bina sipahi ke.
Jodha - Moti hum hain tumhare saath tum kyu darti ho & hume apni suraksha karni aati hain, hume bilkul pasand nahin hai jab bhi babusa ek badi sena hamare saath bhejte hai jaise ki hum koi choti si bachi hain aur kahi kho jaayenge.
Moti - Jodha tum ek Rajkumari ho aur Rajkumari aisi akeli beech jungle mein nahin jaati.
Jodha - Hume maloom hain isliye humne Rajkumari ke libaas ke jagah yeh sainik ka roop dhara hain taaki koi hame pehchaan na sake aur phir hamare paas yeh dhanush bhi hain jisse hum apni raksha kar sakte hain.
Moti - Aapse behes karna bekaar hain...
They continued to ride on their horse.
Meanwhile Jalal and his men were in the middle of the dense forest and were hunting for the tiger... as time passed Jalal got separated from his troop and was now all alone, the forest vegetation got dense and all round him were tall trees. Jalal was getting tired as it was too hot & close to noon, the sun was high up and weather was extremely hot, he took out the water sack but found it to be empty. He got down from the horse and looked around when he found a small stream nearby, the water beckoned him and he ran towards it and drank greedily. He just looked up in time to see a tiger pouncing on him. Jalal rued not having his bandook nearby and had to physically fight the animal. He tried to take out his knife but during the encounter it had fallen off. There was no way he could kill such a fierce animal empty handed and what with the animal had already torn his clothes and he was bleeding all over. The tiger was about to go for the kill when an arrow pierced through its head killing it instantaneously.
Jalaal looked up to find 2 soldiers on a horse approaching him. One of them got down and ran towards him followed by the other.
Jodha - Aap thik hain?
She kneeled down beside him and looked at his wounds, Jalal could see only her eyes as her rest of the face was covered in the veil. The voice sounded feminine but her dressing was manly. Jalal looked on in confusion while Jodha tore his clothes and looked at his wound.
Jodha turned to Moti and asked her to quickly see if she can get any herbs from nearby.
Jodha - Aapka toh bahut khoon behera ha hain.
As Jalal looks on she removes her veil revealing her face and long hairs.She quickly tears the cloth in to small pieces and presses on the wounds. She keeps talking to him questioning if he is alright, if he is feeling too much pain but for Jalal time stands still. He is lost looking at the beauty in front of him, her eyes were mesmeric and deep blue as an ocean, her cheeks were pink, her lips ... he couldn't come up with a word to explain and her long silky hair some of which were now touching his own cheeks... he wanted to reach out to them but as he moved his hand he winced in pain.
Jodha - Hiliye ga math...aapke ghaav kafi gehre hain... par hum iska ilaag jaante hain... aapko kuch hone nahin denge.
Jalal feels amused at her words & thought for a moment he wouldn't mind passing out in her arms.
Jodha grabs her water sack and sprays some water on his face and pats on his face. Her touch on his face sends shock waves through his body...he fails to understand why after all these years he is feeling so. He had been married since 3 years and had many women at his disposal but never he felt such a strong physical attraction towards anyone. This women was indeed touching a spot in the depths of his heart.
Moti comes with some herbs which she immediately makes a paste using a stone and gives to Jodha who quickly applies on Jalal's wounds. The pain is excruciating but Jalal doesn't feel it as much as he keeps gazing at jodha. Finally she gets up and with Moti's help makes him stand.
Jalal - Aapka bahut shukriya aapne hamari jaan bachayi.
Jodha - Aap ke aabhushan dekh ke lagta hain ki aap mughal saltanath ke sipahi hain.
For some reason Jalal decides to hide his identity & says
Jalal - Ji haan hum shehenshah Jalaluddin ki sipahi hain.
Jodha - Aapka ghoda ya koi saathi?
Jalal - Raaste mein hamara ghoda ghayal hogaya & hamare saathi bhi bichad gaye.
Jodha - Koi baat nahin aap Moti ki ghoda leke jaayega.
Jalal - Iski koi zaroorat nahin hain.
Jodha - Yeh Ghana jungle hain aur paidal milo chalna padega, behetar hoga aap yeh ghoda le.
Jalal - Aapka yeh madat shehenshah... Mera matlab hum par udhaar rahega... samay aane par hum zaroor isse utarange.
Jodha smiles & helps him alight on the horse. She and Moti then sit on her horse & leave towards Amer while Jalal watches them till they are out of his vision. Jalal then heads towards Agra thinking of nothing else but Jodha.
