Today's gyan was again very apt

What is Nyay ?

What is anyay?

When the person against whom injustice has been done

Is able to forget it, and learn to move on

When such a person can be happy

Then justice has been done

One the other hand,

When such a person is consumed with revenge

And lives only to avenge

Then the victim of injustice

Becomes the perpetrator of injustice

He becomes the anyayi himself

As Kanha ji very beautifully said - there is a fine line between justice and revenge

And that line is called - Dharma

Shakuni, I must say is really vile

His closing one eye, the evil laugh

The dialogue delivery - make him look sinister !

Awesome job done

Even dhritrashtra brought out the deep aakrosh excellently

Great job from the actor

In short, a good episode - 7.5/10

Strange - the obsession with accession to the throne and dedication to the king is such that no one,

not even his mother, reached out to dhritrashtra

No one except Gandhari, the woman he had shunned!

just can't bear to watch shakuni's histrionics-why do negative characters have exaggerated mannerisms? Are the audience not clever enough to identify them without their OTT make-up or behaviour?!

Well written again👏
The difference between trying to get justice and taking revenge was aply said. Loved Gandhari's devotion. Shaguni is at his evil best but I think this one is trying to emulate the older Shaguni from be chopra but not getting the desired result. I think he needs to tone down a bit.

Dhridrashtra was good and I did have the same question.. Everyone is so involved with the ceremony that except for Gandhari no one came to see how the rejected prince was feeling😲 And then they send a servant to inform him about Pandu being made a king..

Now the question immediately jumps to a bride who can procreate and produce an heir and quick😕
So enters kunti. She is shown a warrior and quite fearless.. How would they then show her leaving her new born?

Yes, and overdone, it becomes really jarring.

Esp here, since they have anyway taken the ramlila style of dramatic acting, it does get a bit too much at times.

But since shakuni has been made out to be a revolting character, the mannerisms have been given to him for such effect.

Harini,
And then again will arise the question of disability - Vidurs statement that a king has to be completely fit and able, yet pandu was unable to procreate, another essential for a king to ensure lineage.

So he too had this 'disability' whereas, dhritrashtra has promised 100 sons to the kingdom.

And also as they search for a bride who can produce an heir, it is a conflict situation right here - who's first born should be the next king?

A question that has no right or wrong answer, whoever it is, it's anyay against the other one !

That's what makes mahabharat so intriguing.

As for Kunti leaving her first born, let's see how it is shown here, for their interpretation of characters is a bit different.

Totally agree with your post! Revenge can just make one cross the line of goodness and do infinite unjust deeds.

@bold--Is that his disability? 😲

arshichs, Pandu was not cursed till a little later in life. His 'disability' is a weak physique.. But yet Pandu Ruled and expanded his kingdom greatly.

He never got a chance to produce a heir because he left for war on the night of his marriage. He was then continuously at war until he married Madri. But before he could beget his wives with children, he kills the sage and gets a curse.

Hence he renounces his throne and goes to the forest. There kunti tells him about her boon and he is overjoyed that kuru Vansh would have its heir (Gandhari having been pregnant for long and not delivering her child)

No actually. When ambalika goes to cays, she shivers. Hence Pandu is born with a weak physique.. He is not very strong like Dhridhrashtra..

Him not being able to touch woman was a curse later on in life😊

True, true. I had forgotten that the curse came later.

But he was always weak in physique and had become a king by default, leaving dhritrashtra embittered.

Thanks 😊
