In STAR Plus's Mahabharat Dhritrashtra is upset, Gandhari tries to console him. Pandu's is coronated as the king of Hastinapur. King Subal & Sudharma are leaving for Gandhar but Shakuni hurts his own leg & refuses to leave Hastinapur for the sake of his sister Gandhari. Shakuni cunningly brain washes Dhritrashtra against his family.
Preparations are going on for Pandu to take the throne. Dhritrashtra deliberately asks how an unmarried person can become the king. Bheeshm & Satyavati decide to get Pandu married. We introduce Kunti & reveal her secret of getting a boon from Durvasa & get a son after invoking Sun God.Kunti gets a baby (Karn) after invoking Sun God. Kunti is upset & helpless. She lets the baby floats away. Pandu takes blessings from Gandhari and goes to Kunti's palace to win her in Swayamvar'.As the news arrives of Pandu's win, Satyavati announces for the celebrations. Dhritrashtra is not happy & warns Gandhari not to welcome Pandu & Kunti. Kunti Bhoj sends her daughter Kunti with Pandu. While passing through Karn's village, Karn impresses them with his archery skills. He is about to meet Kunti.Adhirath stops Karn from meeting Kunti. Pandu & Kunti reaches Hastinapur. Gandhari comes to welcome them. Dhritrashtra doesn't come. Pandu after the ritual goes to take Dhritrashtra's blessings & Gandhari takes Kunti to the Shiv temple. Kunti decides to tell her secret (of Karn) to Pandu on first night. Adhirath asks Karn to leave archery forever.Karn, upset, vows never to pick up bow & arrow. On the first night of their marriage, Kunti wanted to tell her secret but Pandu gets to know about the need of his help to their neighbouring state. Kunti understands Pandu's feelings & allows him to go for war. Gandhari assures Kunti not to worry about Pandu. Just then news from the battlefields arrive.
