In Mahabharat Next Week, At the naming ceremony of newly born babies in Hastinapur, Amba confronts Bheeshm and tells him that Lord Parshuram wants to see him. Bheeshm leaves and meets Lord Parshuram. Parshuram challenges Bhishm for a duel.At the end of a catastrophic war, both Bheeshm and Parshuram call for their magic weapons, Bramhastra and Parshuram, respectively. Looking at this, Ganga appears and prays to Lord Shiva to stop their fight. Amba when asks for her solace is given a promise by Lord Shiva. After a time Leap and being blessed by Lord Shiva, Amba takes birth as Shikhandini to take revenge from Bheeshma. A beautiful princess who is afraid of darkness is introduced. It is Gandhari. We see Bheeshm approaching Gandhar with his vast Army.

A spy from the palace of Gandhar spots a huge army approaching the territory. King Subal discusses Gandhari's marriage. When the news of the approaching army arrives to Subal, he gets worried and orders his army to prepare for war. He wonders why Bheeshm has come. On getting to know about this, Gandhari also gets worried, but is ready to fight along with her father. Subal learns about Bheeshm's intention that he wants to be friends with them, leaving Subal puzzled. Bheeshm proposes for Dhritrashtra and Gandhari's marriage. Gandhari gets to know Dhritrashtra's name, in intercuts, we see Dhritrashtra entering the arena, a huge crowd cheering for him.In the arena, Dhritrashtra fights with elephants and emerges victorious. At the end of the fight, it is revealed that Dhritrashtra is blind by birth. In Gandhar, Subal and Sudharma are worried about Gandhari's fate. Shakuni reacts on getting to know of the decision of getting Gandhari married to a blind prince. Shakuni who loves his sister so much that he climbs a high cliff to collect Gloworms, because she is scared of darkness.Bheeshm returns from Gandhar. Satyavati asks if Gandhari has come with him and gets a unhappy to know that she has not. Unware, Gandhari is dreaming about her future. Subal sends a message to Shakuni. Shakuni is angry, and returns to confront his parents. Gandhari overhears that Dhritrashtra is blind and all her dreams get shattered.
