Satyabati - A character much like Kaikeyi!

Both were stepmothers to the rightful heirs to the throne

Both were the reason that the rightful heirs, the crown princes had to abdicate the respective thrones

Both possessed the ambitions of becoming the queen mother and that their respective sons should be the ones to rule the kingdom.

Both were selfish to the core.

But there is one difference -

While Satyabati desired and dreamt of a glorious future with her son as the king, depriving her step son what was rightfully his, all by herself; kaikeyi was brainwashed by Manthara. Prior to that she used to love Ram as her own son.

So ya though I think both these characters are quite identical but Satyabati appeared to be more formidable to me than Kaikeyi because a woman who is herself ambitious enough to ruin someone's life for the sake of fulfilling her own dreams is much more dangerous than the one who is brainwashed to do so.

both women had paved the way for the ultimate destruction.
