Shah Rukh imitates another role

Shah Rukh Khan seems to be on imitating spree as he will soon be occupying himself in another remake. This time the movie will be 'Karz', and Shah Rukh will play Rishi Kapoor's role in it. In the past, Shah Rukh played in 'Devdas' the role that was earlier played by Dilip Kumar. Then, Shah Rukh imitated Amitabh Bachchan in the remake of 'Don'. So, Shah Rukh will now play Rishi Kapoor's role of 'Karz'. The remake of 'Karz' is being directed by Farah Khan. Isn't Shah Rukh expert in playing popular characters played in the past by top stars?

After Devdas and Don, and a failed attempt with Deewar, Shahrukh Khan is all set to cash in on another old blockbuster, Subhash Ghai's Karz. Farah Khan will direct the movie. Farah earlier had directed SRK in Main Hoon Na.

i dont think it is a remake of karz.........and if it is then too srk will present it in a fresh way............

SRK on German mag cover

Agencies
Berlin, Sept 6: Seeking to capitalise on the growing popularity of Indian culture, food and Bollywood is a German magazine that has just been launched with Shah Rukh Khan on the cover.

"The market in Germany concerning India as a travel destination, economy partner and Bollywood has a big scope. You can find magazines and newspapers about everything in our country but until now no one touched these topics," said Michaela Ohrem, editor-in-chief of Indien-Magazin.

Ohrem, who was contemplating the idea for quite some time, decided to take the plunge soon after seeing response to Yash Chopra's cross-border romance Veer Zaara starring Shah Rukh, Preity Zinta and Rani Mukerji, screened as a part of 55th Berlinale Film Festival.

The first issue features reports on Toy Train of Darjeeling and Darjeeling Tea, Farhan Akhtar's Don, Aishwarya Rai starrer Umrao Jaan, Indian cuisine and Bollywood shows in Germany.

The fans, booked their copies a week in advance and publishers registered a big sale, according to a press statement.

For the time being the magazine will come every second month in Germany. But the publishers are in negotiations with a Swiss company to launch Indien-Magazin in Switzerland as well.

The magazine has a website too - www.indien-magazin.com.

MR MONEY BAGS: If Shah Rukh signs on the dotted lines, he will be featured as a rich Trinidadian millionaire.

Mumbai: Though actors Shah Rukh Khan and Sushmita Sen are yet to sign on the dotted line, producer Viveck Vaswani seems set to cast them in his film Dulha Mil Gaya.

Vaswani's Insight Productions will shoot this big budget film in Trinidad and Tobago, reports Bollywood Trade.

The first Indian film to be shot on the Carribean island may see some known cricket players, including Brian Lara. But Vaswani has brushed aside reports that he was keen to cast cricketer Sachin Tendulkar in a small role as "rumour".

Vaswani who is all charged about the project said, "The film has become the hottest title in the industry and we have been inundated with calls from producers asking us to part with the title."

The film marks the directorial debut of Mudassar Aziz, writer of Tanuja Chandra's Zindaggi Rocks and Mahesh Bhatt's Showbiz.

"Mudassar is keen to work with Sushmita after Zindaggi Rocks. We are planning to meet Sushmita," said Vaswani, who is just back from Trinidad after filming probable locations.

Talking about Sushmita he said, "I have known Sushmita since her first film Dastak which was released 10 years ago. I have been closely following her career since."

If Shah Rukh signs on the dotted lines, he will be featured as a rich Trinidadian millionaire.

It may be recalled that Vaswani had cast Shah Rukh in the early years of his career for Raju Ban Gaya Gentleman which was directed by Aziz Mirza. The film was Mirza's directorial debut and made him the most sought after director and also boosted Shah Rukh's career.

Vaswani has written the story of Dulha Mil Gaya and describes it as a warm and witty film set in Trinidad that will have many firsts to its credits.

"It is one of the finest stories I have written and will be the most promising directorial debut of 2007, with Mudassar doing the screenplay, dialogues, lyrics and the direction. He is an incredible powerhouse of talent," he said.

Vaswani has decided to release the film in May 2007 and has already struck a deal for international rights of the film.

First Look: Shah Rukh's Khaike Paan
Get Movies updates: What's this?
< = =text/>
September 07, 2006 12:11 IST

Priyanka Chopra and Shah Rukh Khan in DonFarhan Akhtar released the soundtrack of his Don remake a week ago, and the remixed Shankar-Ehsaan-Loy version is having a hard time comparing to the Kalyandji-Anandji classic.

The Don music review

We asked readers what they thought, and your responses were almost unanimous: readers feel the new soundtrack -- which rehashes the original tunes -- doesn't match up at all.

And while we can't get over comparing Udit Narayan's version of Khaike Paan Banaras Wala to Kishore Kumar's immortal original, here is a still from Shah Rukh Khan and Priyanka Chopra's version of the Amitabh Bachchan - Zeenat Aman classic.

The tributes seem well in place, anyway. The setting seems completely out of the 1978 classic, and film fans would note that the pattern on Shah Rukh's shirt is uncannily similar to that of the Big B's waistcoat in the original film.
