Riya knew she had pissed Arjun today... She cursed herself aloud staring at his retreating back... It was holi and she would make him forget all this.. She knew Arjun Suryakant Rawte hated colors.. But today she would color him.. In the colors of life. In the colors of her love...
Even though the two efficiant officers of ETF were married Riya knew Arjun held somethin back... He loved her yes but yet he was living in the past..
He used to scream at her for her inefficiency when she was so good at her job. She had the guts, the class and the power. It was not a joke to be ACP Riya.. But woooww ACP Arjun Suryakant Rawte always found faults in her for the only reason that his heart was reacting to someones presence other than Rathore ... He couldnt control his feelings but he removed his frustation on her...
She loved him but due to parental pressure, she agreed to get engaged.. She was about to get engaged he grabbed her arm took her to the local mandir and married her.. "Tum sirf aur sirf meri ho... Kisi aur ki hone ki sochna bhi mat..." She thought life will be a bed of roses for her but Arjun Rawte was a very aggressive person... He was good with her.. But yet things wouldnt work if he always had his way.. Riya had seen her parents cry and crib and she knew one thing for sure to make a marriage work - there should be understanding and both should try for it..
In her case she loved him and always bend but he remained the same.. Today when she asked him to put the mangalsutra in her neck and asked him to apply the color first he just cut her off.. "Mujhe holi achi nahi lagti.."
To the world she was Mrs. Arjun Rawte but to him she was a mistake done in the moment of an emotional trauma.. He loved her - Yes but he refused to acknowledge it... Riya had left her home, her family and came to stay with him... But he was the same.. He still screamed at her though his tone was softer but yet why was the need to scream at her for no mistake of hers.. At home if his food was not as per his taste he would just get up without eating.. His coffee had to be black n bitter else he would not drink it... How can a wife eat when her husband just gets up without eating.. "Meethas mat milao..."
Wherever Riya tried to ease things for him, he complicated it even more for themselves... Today was Holi...
And Riya knew that if she doesnt get him back today he would never be hers... She went to the dressing table, carressed her mangal sutra then looked at her sindoor... She was about to put it but then she changed her mind.. "Aaj toh aap hi meri maang bharenge... "Aap ziddi toh main double ziddi... Aakhir biwi kiski..."
She chuckled to herself...
She checked herself in the mirror, higlighted her eyes, applied mascara and a deep maroon lipstick... She had worn a white half saree which had a pinkish red pallu to it.. She wore pearls in her ears and went down where the party was arranged... Everyone was playing in colors... Shree and Chotu complimented her for her looks... She just smiled and went near Sameer.. Somehow she took the Chief as her elder brother and bent down to take his blessings when he lifted her up and hugged her.. He knew what she was going through... Agreed she was a police officer and very tough girl but somewhere deep inside her, she dreamt of her prince charming.. Somebody who would love her, care for her.. Was it too much to ask...?? And her dreams were being shattered... She never complained but Sameer Rathore knew better..
Sameer's wife Ayesha handed Riya the thali... She hugged Ayesha and wished her happy holi.. From the corner of the eye she noticed Arjun staring at her. She smiled at him, went near him and forcefully pulled him where the aarti was being done.. She went forward to apply tilak on everyone's faces and when she came near Arjun he almost turned his head.. She came closer to him held his face in her hand and forcefully applied the tilak.. Arjun stared at her but today his stares wouldnt scare her away...
From the moment she came Arjun's heart was doing somersaults and she left no chance in coming closer to him... He noticed that she applied color to everyone's faces but when they came forward to apply color on her face she whispered something and they left her while grinning widely.. He wanted to know what is she whispering in there ears... He knew she was adamant that she would apply color only when he applied to her...
Soon the music started playing and everyone was playing around... Chotu and Shree had a bhang competition... Riya knew her akduu husband wont make a move and she had to do something herself... She served bhang to all the ETF members... When she saw that she was in close view of Arjun, she lifted a glass to her mouth and drank.. Then another one.. Arjun looked on amazed...
She turned to see Sameer fully drunk applyin red color on Ayesha... She imagined a dream sequence like those in Yash Raj Films where Arjun was applyin red color on her face and she was lost in his eyes...
Background mein slow music and her hair flying all over... She was soon shaken uo when she noticed
Sameer blabbering something...She turned around to see Arjun not their... She thought of asking Sameer...
"Sir Arjj Arjun Sir ko dekhaa aaapne...????" "Arey Riyaaa, woh dekha tumhara Arjun chowkidari kar raha hain... Sipahi hain na... Hum sab ki hifazat kar raha hain hahaha..." He laughed at his own joke and Riya smiled back... She suddenly turned around and started dancing wildly to the beats of

She went near Arjun and started dancing... Arjun thought she was not in her senses... And she looked so alluring... She didnt have a drop of color on her... But Riya was not just Riya.. She was Riya Rawte. She went near him and took red color indicating him to apply color on her but he just looked away...
Soon Riya got tired of dancing... Arjun did not even look at her way... She turned around to see Ayesha drenched in Red and she running around as Sameer was applyin more color on her and coloring her in the color of his love... Riya looked at herself, her dress was white... She wanted to play around... Holi was her favorite festival but then one look at Arjun and her excitement blew off...
She looked at Shree Chotu all of them were enjoying... The whole ETF was enjoying except for her and Arjun. .. She looked at him and murmered Khadoos... She didnt feel like standing there anymore... She turned around and rubbing her eyes to avoid the tears that were threatning to fall... She went upstairs... She didnt feel like playin Holi anymore... The one person who she was living for wasnt ready to apply color..
What use of enjoying??? Be it black and white, if he loved so much... She wasnt gonna color herself...
Arjun looked around to see his wife... He thought maybe she was drenched in color hence he couldnt recognise her... But his heart knew better... He would recognise her even in layers of veil... He felt a pain in his chest... A constricting pain... When he looked up he saw her going upstairs and her hand was near her eyes... He knew she was crying... He stood there thinkin why did her tears affect him so much..? He knew he loved but something was holding him back... His heart actually was bleeding to see Riya in pain and he told himself those tears of hers were because of him... She never hid her dimples how much ever he behaved rudely with her but today was different... He knew he had a last chance or else she would get away from him forever...
He looked at Sameer, even his best friend lost his sister... He recovered.. He is enjoying his life... He is living his life, if not for himself but for Rosh... And here he was not only hurting Roshni but also his Riya... She left everythin for him... Wasnt he the one who had forced her into the relationship... She would be happily married by now but she left everything and came just for him... He knew she could resist him, ask her family to stop him but she held onto him... Did not care about her family's requests... They asked her to choose him or her family and she left all of them for him and here he didnt give her a reason to smile.. She smiled her heart at him even when he screamed at her.. Her smile always lighted his house but he never let her acknowledge it.. He never gave a reason to display her dimples...
He made up his mind... He had to get back his Riya... He looked around and saw Rathore standing beside him... Rathore had seen the display of emotions on his friend and knew that his friend had realised his folly..
He leaned foward tryin to hug him but then backed off showing his color stained shirt...
Arjun laughed and shaked his head... Arjun's shirt was white and Rathore as well wanted Riya to be the first one to stain him... It was she who brought Arjun back to him and he didnt want to take her right...
Rathore blamed Arjun all these years for the brutal murder of his baby sister but he knew Arjun wasnt responsible... If it was in Arjun's hand he would have gone thru all that just to save Rosh.. He knew it... But he needed someone to remove his frustation on.. He felt alone without his Rosh... He didnt realise that Arjun had no one... Even though he had Ayesha but Arjun had no one.. And Arjun had actually seen the whole thing standing helpless..
Rathore could blame the fate, the time or Arjun but Arjun Rawte couldnt blame anythin except himself...
And Rathore added to the guilt... Rosh went, Riya came.. She was the same to him like his sister... He treated her like his baby sister and maybe somewhere coz of him Arjun held back... He knew that tho Arjun married Riya, they were still living as strangers... Riya's place and respect as a wife was only to the outside world but not in Arjun's life... As Arjun walked up he turned to look at Rathore almost as if asking his permission... Rathore blinked his eyes and showed him a thumbs up...
Arjun also needed to move on... Arjun climbed two steps at a time hurryin so that he doesnt delay it this time... He reached his house upstairs and saw the door opened... He rushed inside and picked up some color on the way... It was red in color... He smiled and went inside the bedroom... The sight that met his eyes pained him... Riya was sprawled on the bed, her face crushed in the pillow.. Her could hear her sobs... He could feel her face diggin deep into the pillow soo that nobody could see her... He looked at her then gently went and sat beside her.. She didnt turn to look at him... Maybe she didnt realise his presence... Ahhh whom was he kidding??? Riya would feel him even when he was miles away from her and how wouldnt she know when he is right beside her.. He took a deep breath... He was nervous...
Then he gently whispered her name
"Riya"...
She lifted her face from the pillow.. He could see dried stains of tears and it hurt him... He used the back of his hand so that she doesnt see the color and gently wiped her tears...
"Idhar dekho Riya" he whispered...
She just nodded her head in a NO... He smiled at her and lifted her face yet she kept her gaze down... He whispered in her ear
"Sharma rahi ho ya naraaz ho... "
That sparked somethin in Riya... She turned around, her eyes fiery and screamed...
"Nahi main toh bahut khush ho... Aap jaisa jeevan saathi toh kismat waalo ko hi milta hain ... Dhanya hogayi main toh..."
Arjun flashed a wide grin staring at Riya... And he did the thing which was unimaginable... He closed upon her and his lips met her...
To say Riya was shocked would be an understatement... She refused to give access to her mouth.. But this was Arjun... He was slow with her and it didnt take a minute for her resolve to break... The color on his hands was all over Riya's face...
He whispered in her ear - "Holi Mubarak Ho Riya Arjun Rawte..." ...
She was numb... She had tears flowing freely through her eyes...
"Riya jab rang nahi lagaya toh ro rahi thi... Ab lagaya hain toh bhi ro rahi ho... Aakhir chahti kya ho... Decide karlo na..."
She smacked on his arm and blushed profously... Then she came forward ... Stopped ... Arjun realised her hesitation and turned sideways to show his cheek... Riya excitedly rubbed her cheek with his and smiled as he was colored in her color... He went out got some more red color and put it in the partition...
She couldnt believe it... Her life had taken a complete 360 degree turn... A while ago he refused to apply color but now he was ready to get colored in her color.. She flashed one of her dimpled smile and Arjun asked
"Ab neeche chale warna poori qaum oopar aajayegi... Not that i have a problem ... "
He winked at her .. Riya pulled him out and they descended hand in hand to enjoy the festival of colors together... Arjun came beside her but his frenz had somethin else planned for them... As soon as they reached they were dragged into the centre and buckets of color was poured on them... Rathod actually made him drink bhaang...
While Arjun rolled eyes, Riya came forward with a glass and served it to him... Before Arjun could stop her she had taken another one and gulped the whole glass down... Arjun realised that Riya hadnt consumed Bhaang before and she was just acting... He smiled at her antics and soon had been forced 2-3 glasses... All thanks to his best friend...
Jab Arjun ko chad gayi toh duniya sar par utha leta hain... !

Shree almost fainted had Chotu not supported him... Somewhere in the corner Ayesha and Riya were plannin on how to color their husbands... The two khadoos ACP's ki toh shaamat thi aaj aur woh bhi biwi ke haatho...!
