Speculation has been rife over the male lead opposite Sanaya Irani in Sony Entertainment Television's upcoming show.

While it was reported that Sanaya's real-life beau Mohit Sehgal is being considered for the role ' names of actors like Vishal Karwal, Arjun Bijlani and Varun Kapoor were also doing the rounds ' a rookie actor, Farhan Khan, has pipped his contemporaries to the post.

Producer Vipul D Shah confirms, "The initial plan was to launch a new female lead, but we liked Sanaya's audition so much that we decided to cast her. This changed the dynamics and we thought of casting all known faces in the show. However, later we felt that established actors may not bring any freshness to the show and hence, a new face was cast."
