Saba Qamar

The year literally belonged to Saba Qamar. She starred in one of the biggest hits of the year (Thakan) and literally shouldered the whole show proving that she is a brand to reckon with. She was also seen in a soap this year that airs on Urdu1 (Shehryar Shehzadi). Many people have criticized her role in the serial; however, they need to know that it was shot a while back and reached the screens just now.

The actress with her ability made even the most mundane scenes in Na Kaho' standout. She was also in the news for being the highest paid actresses when she raised her prices after the huge success of Maat last year.

Bushra Ansari

Her lovely avatar in Annie was once again appreciated by everyone. Hoever, she couldn't repeat the success story with Mere Dard.. which failed to make any dent.

Ayza Khan

Ayza took giant leaps as an actor this year. She was seen in multiple roles (maybe she was seen in too many serials, but that is only a testament to her popularity). She stole the thunder in Zard Mausam standing tall against biggiest like Sania Saeed and Faysal Rehman.

We weren't sure if we wanted to put Savera or not, given that she only has one success to talk about. However, she is so good in Bari Aapa that neglecting her would be a sin. Honestly, her performance is actually good in Mera Yaqeen as well ' the sad part is that the serial is a complete mess.

News Item: The actress was questioned by many for appearing in dramas looking heavily pregnant. Additionally, she won Lux Award (for Qaid e Tanhai) this year as well.

It was too difficult to choose five names only, but we had to do so. Other contenders included Sarwat Gilani (Mata e Jaan, Tishnagi, and Mere Dard..) Mahira (who was excellent in Shehr e Zaat, but we decided to exclude names that only appeared in one serial), Alishba Yusuf (she gave great performances in Sargoshi, Mere Dard, Ek Nazar Meri Taraf, Annie' and Tanhaiyan) and lastly Saba Hameed, who was seen mostly in negative roles this year in dramas like Thakan, Cinderella, and Kaala Jadu.
