What does this line mean exactly?

"Numaish paschim ki adaa hai, sharam purab ka gehna hai. Is mulk mein auratein isi gehne se sajti hai."

I get most of the words, just need to know the meaning of the line as a whole 😊

Thanks in advance!

Heyy.. It means how displaying ones self is a western thing to do and sharam/ carrying one's self with immense modesty should be the pride of eastern women. The line is talking about women particularly and how they carry themselves outside their homes, and what kind attention their attire may gain.

Displaying is the embellishment of the west
Modesty is the ornament of the east
The women in this country beautify themselves with this [modesty] ornament.

"Numaish paschim ki adaa hai, sharam purab ka gehna hai. Is mulk mein auratein isi gehne se sajti hai."

Simply translate karun to... "Showing off yourself is western style, shyness or being modest is asian jewelery. In this country women style with this jewelry.."

Now some detail...

exposing yourself or carrying yourself too boldly like wearing revealing cloths and all is western style... this all is carried out by women in western countries and here in asia, women are liked being a little shy, carry themselves with modesty and this is titled as asian jewelry our women wear...

I hope that helped you...😊

I would have used the word immodesty instead of displaying...but WOW! Oyster I must say you did a fab job at translating...👏
I loved this dialogue...the English language suddenly seems so ordinary in front of one as poetic as Urdu...😆
