"Marry you? Nooo!" the 8 year old boy cried as he tried to escape from her grasp...
"Yes!" smiled the girl happily...
"NO WAY! That's NOT going to happen..."
The little 4 year old pulled at the boys shirt..."We're just playing! Come on! Or I'll cry! I'll scream! Then Amma will come running, and you will be in trouble!"
With a loud sigh, the boy trudged back towards the girl...
Smiling big, she began the pretend game of their wedding...
12 years later...
"Come on...just one kiss...I know you want me..."
The frightened girl pushed hard at the slimy boys chest..."Get away from me! Help! Help me!!!"
"Where is my best friend when I need him..." she thought furiously...

A loud slam suddenly struck the empty room...

The lanky boy looked up and saw the firey eyes of the man before him...

"How DARE you lay a hand on MY best friend..." the man, now a strapping 20 year old, charged towards the boy...
"I'm sorry! I didn't know! If I had known...then..." the now frightened teen began to sheild his face from the impending beating...

The greasy haired teen looked up to see the girl standing between him and the powerful college man.
"He's not worth it...Let it be..."
The man's eyes softened..."Are you hurt?"
She shook her head...
His gaze shot to the guy he wanted to beat..."If you ever, EVER touch her, or any other girl like this again...I WILL find you..."
Shaking like a leaf, the scared kid ran from the room...
Falling into her best friend's arms, she gave a sigh of relief...
Feeling relieved to have found her, his voice whispered in her ear..."God don't scare me like that again!"
Shoving at his chest, the sweet, yet sassy 16 year old glared at him..."YOU! You took your bloody time! Where the hell were you!!!!!"
Starting to laugh, he grabbed her wrists and yanked her hard against him...
She began to resist, but he held on tight...
Giving up, she threw her arms back around his broad shoulders...
"I came as fast as I could...I was so worried when I couldn't find you..."
Moving back, she gazed into his eyes..."Thankyou...you've been there for me...so much..."
"So have you...when both of our parents..." his voice cracked with emotion...
Her hand came up to his face..."It's alright...we have each other...and I have my Jiji, and you have Di..."
"I know...but...you are...you mean so much more to me than anyone else ever will..."
She smiled..."I feel the same..."

Their hearts had been joined since childhood.

Smiling big, she nodded..."No other man will ever possess my heart...I'm yours..."

He slowly leaned in...
As their lips touched, their heartbeats joined, their souls united, and their future was sealed...

Driving home.
All their lives, they had lived close by...
