Humaima Malick Might Star In Vidhu Vinod Chopra's

Humaima Malick has caught the attention of filmmaker Vidhu Vinod Chopra. We have learnt that Humaima is one of the girls in the running to play the female lead in Chopra's next,Chitthiyan.

A couple of days ago, Humaima is believed to have done an elaborate look test with cinematographer Binod Pradhan at Chopra's Bandra office. "Since she has just done what seemed to be an important look test with Binod sir, she surely seems to have a big chance of getting the part. Everyone is happy with her pretty, girl-next-door looks, though an official decision is yet to be taken," says an insider.

As far as official news go, Sharman Joshi is confirmed to play the lead for this film. However, Chitthiyan requires another male actor, which is yet to be decided upon. Ranbir Kapoor's name came for the part, but it was later clarified that he isn't doing the film.

Scripted by Chopra himself, it is to be directed by Tanuja Chandra, who is best known for two critically acclaimed films — Dushman (1998) and Sangharsh (1999). When we contact Tanuja about Humaima's part in the film, she doesn't deny it. She says, "We haven't finalised our actors yet. I will be able to give you a clear answer after some time."

"The cast should be finalised soon since the shoot starts towards the end of the year," the insider says.
