Chakri Toleti to direct Kamal for Aascar Again

Earlier, we had written about prolific producer Aascar Ravichandran tying up with Kamal Haasan for the second time after Dasavatharam.

Though Ravi did not divulge any information about who would direct Mr. Perfectionist, he'd said that talks were on with a big filmmaker.

Our source has unearthed the fact that Ravi was indeed holding discussions with Shankar to direct the untitled film, which is said to be based on a story by Kamal Haasan himself.

After a few rounds of talk, for some reason, Shankar, who had readied his own script, was unable to accept Aascar Ravi's offer.

Now, a reliable source in the production house informs DC that Ravi has sealed the deal with Chakri Toleti who got rave reviews for his debut directorial venture Unnaipol Oruvan with none other than Kamal playing the protagonist.

Since Chakri shares a great rapport with Kamal, Ravi felt the former was the right choice. Sources say that the actor-turned-filmmaker, who is busy wrapping up Billa 2 with yet another biggie Ajith in Mumbai, flew down to Chennai recently for a formal meeting with Ravi. If everything goes as planned, we can expect Aascar Films to make an official announcement soon.
