Welcome onboard to SOTW.... This week we have someone special.. before i introduce you to him.... Here's some clues about him....😆

1. A highly successful tamil film actor

2. Was the teenage hearthrob of many girls back in the late 90s and early 2000s

3. Born on 1st May

4. Loves racing and also is happily married and blessed with a beautiful daughter

5. His nickname used by fans is literally translated as "the Head"...

Alright, since we all now know who our SOTW is... let's get started on HIs biography... So just like Superstar... I'm going to try to make it as Short and Sweet as possible... All with a smile on our faces...😃

Born on 1st May 1971
Father - P Subramaniam & Mother - Mohini
Siblings - 2 Brothers - Anil Kumar & Anoop Kumar
Ajith was the Middle Child
Briefly dated actress Heera
Got married to fellow actress & costar- Shalini on April 2000
Mr & Mrs Ajith are now blessed with a beautiful daughter - Anoushka on Jan 2008

First movie - Prema Pustagam (1st and last telugu movie)
1st Tamil movie - Amaravati
Some successful movies - Valee, Asai, Kadhal Kottai, Kadhal Manan, Varalaru, Billa.... etc

When Ajith first started out, he was a nobody, with no contacts from the industry to help him.
Ajith first go into modeling and acting to earn money for his first love - Racing.
Following Amaravati, ajith had acted in several films, however did not get noticed.

In 1995, Ajith starred in the highly successful film Asai, his first breakthrough role.
It got him recognised and it was then followed by several successful movies, that helped him achieve the status of a Romantic Hero.
Movies such as Kalloori Vasal, Kadhal Kottai, Kadhal Mannan, Aval Varuvala, Uyirodu Uyiraga, Unnai Thedi brought him many female fans...
making him a teenage hearthrob

Following, several successful films, Ajith decided to rework on his image as an Romantic Hero towards a more serious actor.
He worked with several popular co-stars in the successful film Kandukondein Kandukondein.
He also played an aspring music director in Mugavari and the villain in Ashoka (Hindi).
However, his most famous protrayal was that of the dual role in Blockbuster Vaalee..

It was also in that period, Ajith decided to create a Action Hero Image of himself.
His first of which was Amarkalam. Not only was the movie highly successful and created a new image for him, Ajith also started dating his co-star and now wife, Shalini during the making of Amarkalam.
Following Amarkalam, Ajith worked in several action films - VIllain, Red, Attagasam
However, some of films started to flop - Paramasivam, Jana, Ji....
Following which, Ajith decided to take a short break from acting

In 2006, Ajith did a triple role in the movie Varalaru, which won him many accolades for his acting abilites.
He also cameback with the highly successful film - Billa and several moderate successes - Kireedam, Asal, Aegan....

Ajith is currently working on Billa 2 & Venkat Prabhu's Mankatha....

His daughter is adorable.

Great choice of songs too. If I may include another one which is one of my favs 😳....it's from Amaravathi..." Konja naal poru thalaivaa.." Loved Hariharan's voice in it.

All i remember of Ajith is the movie Vallee 😳- In telugu dubbed ofcourse as i don't now tamil 😃 (my life ambition 🤓 now is to learn tamil in my life..which surely doesn't seem to go anywhere🤣)but he was great in it performing dual role in it n will be always memorable apart from some other dubbed movies i now don't remember 😆..
Though I love his acting n jodi with shalini..they look so sweet together.. :)

Awesome posts Additi!

Personally, I used to like Ajith's old movies. I think his image had kinda faded now, probably cos of the competition from fellow actors. But this is just my POV. Valee and Kadhal Kottai were one of his best! 😃
