There is preparation going on in Sanghvi Villa. The servants are busy and the ladies of the house are also busy. Baa, who is the head of the family, calls out to the servants to find out if everything is prepared.
Suddenly Baa sees Krithika ascending the staircase slowly. Krithika is 9 months pregnant and her movement is slow. Baa asks her where she is going. Krithika tells her that she is going to give tea tot her husband. Baa says, that's good, you need to move your limbs, so that you can have an easy delivery.
Krithika sees her husband Mehul lazing around in bed. She tells him to get up and get ready. He should know it is Sunday and his father's friends will be dropping in, it is something Mehul knows only too well every Sunday Mehul's father Keshubhai's friends gather in the house for a multi-cuisine feast prepared by Keshu's daughter-in-law. In Ketan's room, Urvashi finds him at work on his laptop. She urges him to get ready and he keeps telling her he will do so in five minutes. She reminds him that that Keshubhai's friends will arrive. He tells her that if he starts believing that a holiday is a day when he should not work, the deal that has to be signed with Singapore will go or a toss. Keshubhai is alone with his wife Ketki in their room. He has switched off calls on his phone because Sunday is that one day he spends with his family and friends. He admires Ketki as she gets ready. He pins her sari in pleats at the shoulder, then fixes a 'tikka' on her forehead. They have grown up sons but they are obviously in love with each other still. Urvashi enters the room hesitantly at first, then advances and asks Keshubhai to taste the kheer and tell her if it is sweet enough. Waqar and Jannat Begum are leaving from their house in a big car. Waqar checks something in the car's engine by opening the bonnet. Jannat Begum Grumbles saying how can the owner of a car garage not know what is wrong with his own car. They have a lovey ' dovey argument. From another building Aatish, Raseli and Ujjwala leave. Ujjwala calls Nandini on her mobile and informs her that they are leaving and she should reach there directly. Rasele walks briskly to an auto rickshaw and sits in it. She brings the auto rickshaw and she asks Aatish and Ujjawala to get in quickly. She directs the auto driver to take them to Santacruz. By the time Waqar Miya reaches the building, he sees Sachin Deshmukh and Manda are already there. He compliments Sachin for his punctuality. In the dinning room of Sanghvi Villa all the characters ' Baa, Keshu, Ketki, Mehul, Ketan, Krithika, Urvashi, Aaatish, Rasili,Ujjwala, Waqar, Jannat, Sachin, Manda, Nandini, Mansukh Laadki, Bhavesh have gathered. They are seated around the table. They have their meal. In between jovial leg pulling and jokes also circulate. When the meal is over and the guests are relaxing, Nandini arrives she has brought a pot of Rasmalai. She feeds the sweet first to Baa. The rest now are ready to "attack" the pot of rasmalai.
When the guests have left, Keshu goes into a flashback of their early days of poverty when he did not have money to pay the doctor's fees when their elder son Mehul was born. He expresses his happiness that they are well off now he recalls, as the flash back continues, that their second son Ketan brought them luck. Things started improving with his birth. He tells Ketki life would have been terrible without her support. He thanks her. Suddenly they hear Ketan speaking in a loud voice, almost shouting. They rush to see what's happening Ketan and Mehul are having a raging argument. Keshu intervenes and stops the verbal duel. Then he retires to his bedroom with Ketki. They go to sleep. Ketki sees a bad dream. She sees her sons aggressively telling their father to leave the house, shouting at him and telling him that the business now belongs to them she wakes up with a start and narrates the dream to Keshu. Keshu assures her it is just a dream. It can never happen. Their sons are not heartless. It happens and has happened in other families. But no! Never will it happen with us! Keshu assures Ketki.

(Episode 2 On: 2009-08-18, Tuesday)

Krithika goes into labour. In the hospital, outside the labour room, Ketki, Urvashi, Rasili, Jannat, Manda, Sachin, Aatish, Nandini, Waqar have reached in time to give comfort to Baa & Mehul who are anxious and tense. Keshubhai is pacing the floor, anxiety written large on his face. They get the good news that Krithika has delivered a baby boy. Krithika returns to the bungalow of Sanghvi Parivar with the young heir and hands over the child to Baa. Krithika's mother Deviben arrives from Jamnagar. She has travelled all the way from Jamnagar to Mumbai by private taxi and she thinks she has to pay only a few rupees. Mehul steps forward and asks the driver "how much?". The driver says: Rs. 8,500." Devkiben is alone with her daughter Krithika in her room. She tells Krithika: Beta, so far you have charmed your husband Mehul with your beauty, now it is time for you to use the innocent smile of your son to charm your in-laws in this house." Krithika tries to make her mother understand that her 'sasural' is different. There is no need to fight for anything, she says. "Everything is given even before asking in this house, Maa", she tells her mother. Devkiben tries to impress upon Krithika that it is not so.

(Episode 3 On: 2009-08-19, Wednesday)

Hijras's (eunuchs) come to Sanghvi Villa and start asking for money. Keshubhai gives them money and they go away happy after blessing the child. The baby is the centre of attraction in the Sanghvi family. Sine he is being called by different names Nandini suggests that the child be given an official name every one agrees and a naming ceremony is fixed Nandini is given the responsibility of shopping, invitation cards are getting printed and Waqar bhai informs Keshu that a jewellery given for making is ready. Keshu is happy that everything is in order but Aatish tells him not to come up with such hurried events in future. As the women get into the task of completing the shopping Ketki reminds Nandini that she should buy herself a sari as a gift from Ketki and wear it on the occasion. As Urvashi and Nandini go in their car for shopping they see Shantanu driving his car and coming towards their car. The cars come parallel to each other. They exchange glances. They enter a mall Shantanu buys a tie for himself and Nandii purchases a sari. At the cash counter both Shantanu and Nandini keep their mobile phones on the side of the counter. While leaving their phones get accidentally exchanged.

(Episode 4 On: 2009-08-20, Thursday)

On hearing that the date is 20th Aug, Keshu goes to Aatish and forcefully takes him to the beach. He shows him the waves and reminds him of the day 30 years ago when they came to the city as youth with dreams of making it big. Shantanu gets a call on the mobile from Nandini's friend Sneha and through her he gets Nandini's address. When he goes to the address he finds out that Nandini and the entire family are at Keshubhai's house. At Keshubhai's house he bumps into Nandini and the tray of flowers in Nandini's hand flies in the air showering flowers on both of them. Shantanu almost gets beaten up because everybody thinks he is a gatecrasher. Keshubhai rescues him, recognizing him as the son of his old friend. Keshuhai and Ketki visit a temple. They give donations to an orphanage they are sponsoring. Outside the temple as they give alms to beggars, Keshubhai stops for some time in front of a beggar whose face is vaguely familiar.

(Episode 5 On: 2009-08-21, Friday)

Back home, he is unable to forget the face. Baa tells him not to think too much. Kruthika grumbles that she did not want to become a mother so soon. Devkiben tries to make her understands that it was an absolute necessity. If Urvashi became a mother and gave birth to a son before she did, all the importance would have gone to her. Keshubhai decides to have the function in Sanghavi Villa. Nandini goes to return the mobile that has come into her possession by mistake. She reaches Shantanu's house and finds no one inside. She enters a room in which a man on a wheelchair is coughing badly. She is accompanied by Urvashi. They are both bewildered. Nandini goes to the kitchen and fetches water for the old man. He is normal now. She tells him that she had come to return the mobile. When Shantanu comes home Brijbhushan tells Shantanu about Nandni's visit, gives him the mobile and praises Nandini. He decides the problem with Urvashi. Ketki sees a dream that Ketan has thrown her and Keshu out of the house. She goes to Baa's room in the middle of the night, crying about the dream she has seen. Baa tells her not to worry. She assures Ketki that her sons are very noble. They will never do wrong.

(Episode 6 On: 2009-08-24, Monday)

In the office a meeting is called to decide the fate of the mill in Surat. Keshu announces that even if it is bringing losses now it should not be closed because it generated good business earlier. Ketan gives a business suggestion to improve the production of the Surat Mill. Keshu accepts the idea but he give the responsibility of running the mill to Mehul and asks Ketan to work with his brother. Ketan is quietly nursing the wound of being neglected. Baa prepares modak to be taken to Sachin Deshmukh's house for the Ganpati darshan. Ketki reminds Ketan to be ready for a visit to Sachin's house. He says he has an important meeting. Urvashi is upset to find Ketan missing when everyone comes home for the pooja.

(Episode 7 On: 2009-08-25, Tuesday)

The Deshmukhs' flat is small. Devkiben taunts about this and everyone feels a bit upset about her remark. On the way back, Keshu and Aatish recall the goodness of Madan Kedia, a Marwari businessman who had helped them when they set up shop in Bombay 30 years ago. They discuss that his son is not at all like him. The son is a cut throat Marwari. Back home Keshu opens his cupboard to look for a file containing some papers of Madan Maheshwari, son of Madan Kedia. An album falls to the ground and some photos spill over. He picks up one photo and recognizes the face of a man in it. It is the face of the beggar outside the temple! The man is Madan Kedia! Keshu asks Aatish to get into the car and he orders the driver to get going. Aatish does not know where they are going. He gradually realizes that they are going to the temple to look for the beggar whose face has been haunting Keshu. Unfortunately the beggar is not there. Keshu and Aatish try to trace the whereabouts of Madan Kaka by visiting his son Kaustubh. They are told by Kaustubh that Madan Kaka died three years ago. Keshubhai gets the feeling that Kaustubh is lying. In Keshubhai's office Ketan is all set to close a deal. Aatish, however, discourages him.

(Episode 8 On: 2009-08-26, Wednesday)

The deal is cancelled and Ketan is visibly angry. Nandini bumps into Shantanu at a mall. He is with a little boy whom he addresses as 'beta'. Nandini thinks he is married. It is established that the child Shantanu's sister's. Later, the misunderstanding about him being married is cleared by Urvashi. Nandini is ecstatic.

(Episode 9 On: 2009-08-27, Thursday)

'Keshu and Ketki notice the chemistry between Shantanu and Nandini. Shantanu asks Nandini out for coffee, she agrees. Ketan tells Keshu of someone else having profited from the deal that they let go. Keshu rebukes him. Devaki tries to needle Ketan further, hoping to create a wedge in the family. He snubs her. Rasili wakes up at night to find one of her daughters missing.

(Episode 10 On: 2009-08-28, Friday)

Rasili hyperventilates too much ' Ujjwala had only gone to the washroom. Keshu is still worried about the beggar. The same beggar meets with an accident. Keshu & Aatish narrowly miss him. Waqar's family is introduced. All seems well but is not - their daughter-in-law is sick of them. Preparations are on at Keshu's house to receive Nattubhai'

(Episode 11 On: 2009-08-31, Monday)

It is established that Nattubhai's is a cook and his relationship with Sanghvis goes back to when Baa lost her husband. Baa gives new jewellery to Ketki for the naming ceremony. Devki is excited as she thinks Baa will give something even more expensive to Kritika but she doesn't.

(Episode 12 On: 2009-09-01, Tuesday)

Kritika's upset at not having been given any new jewellery but to her pleasant surprise, Ketki adorns her with a lot of jewellery. Keshu's friends and their families are getting dressed for the naming ceremony. Finally the ceremony takes place with dance, music, pomp, and splendor. Devaki is shocked when Baa announces that the gold from the gold ladder will go to Nandini and daughters/ grand-daughters of Keshu's friends.

(Episode 13 On: 2009-09-02, Wednesday)

Nandini and Shantanu's chemistry during dandiya is sensed by Keshu and Ketki. Later, Rasili and Nandini go to court for Ujjwala's domicile certificate and they bump into Shantanu who promises to get it done. Ketki gives money to Kritika to distribute amongst servants who worked hard for the function. Devki pockets this money. Baa later asks one of the servants whether they got the money, Kritika's stuck.

(Episode 14 On: 2009-09-03, Thursday)

Devki brings boxes of sweets, pretending she wanted to distribute them along with the money. Keshubhai sees through her and gets her a ticket back to Jamnagar. Devki pretends to fall ill and succeeds in staying back. Shantanu comes to Nandini's house to deliver the domicile certificate. Ujjwala sees a rose in the envelope and misunderstands that Shantanu left it for her.

(Episode 15 On: 2009-09-04, Friday)

Ujjwala goes to thank Shantanu at his office and he realizes that she has got the rose that was meant for Nandini. Harsh comes to Shantanu's house to take his son for a day. Sunaina behaves rudely. Shantanu's dad, Brijbhushan intervenes. Keshu goes to the hospital for a regular check up and sees the beggar (Madan Kaka) admitted there, he gets to know that Madan kaka is in coma.

(Episode 16 On: 2009-09-07, Monday)

Keshu and Aatish go to Madan Kaka's son Kaustubh and confront him, he denies foul play. Keshu warns him and gives him 24 hours' notice to accept his mistake. Kaustubh calls some goon and asks him to find his father. Keshu learns that Madan Kaka can get everything back from his cruel son if he presents himself in court.

(Episode 17 On: 2009-09-08, Tuesday)

Keshu ensures complete security for Madan Kaka at the hospital so that no one enters his room. Shantanu advises Keshu on legal procedures for Madan Kaka's case. Waqar's son asks for Rs. 5000 saying he needs for a friend's treatment. He's later seen placing bets on bike races with the same money. Later, Shantanu tells Nandini that he had kept s rose for her in the envelope containing the domicile certificate.

(Episode 18 On: 2009-09-09, Wednesday)

Ujjwala catches Nandini searching her room and speaks harshly with her. that night the rose flies from Ujjwala's diary and falls on Nandini while she is asleep. Ketan asks Keshu for Rs. 2 crore to invest in a foreign company's shares. Kaustubh gets a court summon. His lawyer asks him to sort this out of court. Ketki and Keshu leave for Khandala and Devki instigates Kritika about Ketan having taken so much money from his father.

(Episode 19 On: 2009-09-10, Thursday)

Keshu and Ketki return from Kandala with a blueprint of a 10,000 sq. ft plot bought in the name of Mehul and Kritika's infant son. Kaustubh comes to Keshu's place pretending to be remorseful and demands to take Madan Kaka home but Keshu refuses to let him do so till the time he is sure that Kaustubh is genuinely remorseful and wants to correct his mistakes by taking care of his father.

(Episode 20 On: 2009-09-11, Friday)

Shantanu has learnt that yellow is Nandini's favourite colour and he makes a conscious effort to wear something yellow. His father teases him about Nandini. Urvashi has just finished her mehendi course and Keshu announces a mehendi competition for all the men of the house. Everyone gets busy trying to learn how to apply mehendi. Ketki invites Shantanu to the competition as well.
