S.M. Zaheer in Rani Padmini

The veteran actor S.M. Zaheer who we have seen in films like Veer-Zaara, Zubeida, Maachis will now be seen in Rani Padmini. The actor will be playing the great poet Amir Khusro in the show.

A source from the show informed, "S.M. Zaheer is not only a very professional actor but also great person to work with. The veteran actor is playing the famous Mughal poet Amir Khusro. He has started shooting also."

We contacted director Krishna Kant Pandya who confirmed the news, "Yes, Mr. Zaheer is playing Khusro's character, who was a great poet and father of Qawwali. He is a great actor to work with and audiences will see him in a totally different avatar. He knows the Urdu language very well so people will surely accept him as a poet and he will also be seen singing some of the poems in the show."

We tried contacting Zaheer but in vain.

so he is the court poet of Ala-ud-din Khilji'...hmm....i was wondering weather we'll get to see Amir Khurso! I've heard so much about this poet.Have learnt about him in my history book.

me too dear.........n thats also gud ,he knows urdu very well....so he will b more at ease in reading out the urdu poems😳

yup hes veteran actor ...i loved 2 watch him , he is a great actor n he speaks urdu very well...watched him in many serials...its gud tat rpoc r working wid talented actors who r doin full justice 2 tis epic...i fail 2 understnd y dnt ppl hve interst in history!!thy r presenting it so well n wid a gud n tight script everythngs so planned well!!

ur welcome mehr di...........yup u r absolutely rite.........pata nahi logon ko aisi stories kyun pasand nahi aati😭😭.........frankly by watching such shows like RPOC,PRC etc..........I feel proud for India wherein so many gr8 n legendary persons were born who have bcome immortal in the pages of history..........n yes S.M zaheer is very nice actor...........m luking forward to his entry😳

yup our history has so many legends n so many warriors...ppl shud feel proud of it!i dunno abt others bt im here 2 kno abt the sacrifices n obstacles ppl faced at tat point of time...n rani padmini was one among them!
