20th Century Fox alleges that their serial 24 has been plagiarised by you in your serial Time Bomb. What do you have to say to that?
This is a baseless allegation. We have modelled the serial on another series called Pradhan Mantri, which used to be aired three to four years ago, when 24 hadn't even been released. The terrorism and assassination part was inherent in Pradhan Mantri.
But it's not just the concept, but the entire storyline, technical presentation and script that they've alleged has been copied...
The script is developed by us completely, so they have no ground for an argument. As for the technical presentation, digital technology software is being used by almost everybody in the business.
Why do you think they are targeting Time Bomb?
They are just trying to intimidate us by filing a case. It's such a frivolous case; they started alleging about the series being copied even before they saw a single episode. How can they form a judgement that it's copied just by seeing the promos? So what's the status quo with the legal proceedings now? Thankfully, the court stopped the injunction to stop the telecast of Time Bomb. We have been asked to file our replies in the court by the 18th of July. They are resorting to intimidating tactics by sending us a notice too; but we have nothing to fear, so we are going to fight as it comes.
