the point of the show is not that such a family could exist, the point is what would happen when a modern valued girl like sneha would deal with such a old fashioned family whose patriarch holds old fashioned values about women.

ok, sorry to sound really scientific there, but in reality too families like this exist. I'm from the south but i have many north indian friends here in the u.s. since i was raised with them, and many of the women in these families are repressed and beaten, though it isnt out in the open b/c people who do it would be ashamed if others found out.
