The thing that disgusts me the most about society's outlook on gender is how many people will sacreligiously make stupid generalizations about the male and female genders. Here's the worst one: when people say that "men have it easier than women" or "women have it easier than men." Those are two of the most ignorant statements that anyone can make. Realistically, no one has it "easier" or "harder" in life. We all have problems, inner-conflicts, and burdens throughout life. Everyone experiences heartache. Society makes life hell on both males and females in various ways. So many people need to quit making these stupid generalizations. It goes way beyond the logic of basic opinion. Look at it this way: one must live within the female or male body in order to truly experience what it is like. Personally, I have never lived life as a male, nor will I ever live life as a male. So how can I even begin to understand what it feels like to be a male? Therefore, We cannot draw comparisons between what it is like being male and female - - I have only lived my life as a female. One cannot compare personal conditions of females versus males based solely on secondhand assumptions. Some people claim that while they are biologically one gender, they "experience" life psychologically as another gender. Well I ask, how can they know that if they've never actually lived in the body or possessed the genitals of the opposite sex?

Above all, everyone lives her or his own life, not anyone else's. So it is very presumptuous to say, "women have it easier, men have it harder" or "men have it easier, women have it harder." Life can be difficult for both genders. Because of the sheer differences between the female and male genders, it is unjust to compare them to "determine" who has it "easier" or "harder." Anyone who tries to do that is just kidding themself. (ahem ahem, maushklal!)😊

Hey neelima:

Girl i loved the point you made there! There is a lot of fact that has been ignored by society, especially desi society! I'm sorry to say, the way i'm raised, i would not make assumptions nor judge anyone by any mean! But this is the mere fact that we face in our society!

I truely believe that no one has it easier, not males and nor females! Life is a struggle individual or human being! Some people have the only solitary judgment about someone that to me, it makes them look so hypocrite! If only society understands that all of us have equal rights, than there would be no presumptions about anyone! If only it was perfect, but then again, there is one perfect idol, and that's god! We are just human beings, that are tend to make mistakes, because we are just not so perfect at all!

of course women have it harder - there is NOTHING compared to the millions of periods (and cramps), and not to mention the childbirth, we have to go through.

As to other things, such as the jobs and such - well, that is something I guess we'll never know. But as far as our biological physiology, girls definitely have it tougher.

👏 well said, Neelu and Khoo. I couldn't agree with you more. We have come a long way with genderism, but we still have a lot of ground to cover.

I have a great example of genderism and how to combat it using an easy example. When babies are born, if they are a boy we buy them blue if they are a girl we buy them pink. I buy yellow or green and stay away from the blue and pink. See how early in life genderism starts. 😛
