Televisionpoint.com Correspondent Sony Entertainment Television is introducing Thodi Khushi Thode Gham – ek joint family. Thodi Kushi Thode Gham showcases the life of a patriach - Mansukhlal Shah who is a staunch believer that men are superior to women. It also showcases the life of Sneha – Mansukhlal's youngest daughter-in-law, who challenges his claims. Mansukhlal is among the leading industrialists in the country and his family consists of his mother, his wife, four sons, a daughter and two daughters-in-law. Mansukhlal credits himself and his sons not only for his success but also for the status and respect that he has in society and ignores the contribution of his wife and his two daughters-in-law. When Mansukhlal writes his autobiography - it is only a reflection of his mind. He acknowledges his son's contributions, but doesn't even mention the existence of the women in the house. At this point, Sneha tells him what he has written is untrue and reminds him that the women in his family had contributed in no small measure to his success and that of his sons. This dispute leads to an argument and Mansukhlal finally challenges Sneha to prove her claim and she accepts the challenge, only with the help of all the females of the house. It is the struggle for truth between the ladies of the house led by Sneha, and the men of the house led by Mansukhlal Shah. Commenting on the launch of the new show, N. P. Singh, COO, Sony Entertainment Television, said, "With the closure of Indian Idol 2, we wanted to give our viewers a completely new show that breaks away from reality." Thodi Khushi Thode Gham depicts incidents that are true to life that are more relatable than reel life situations. The character of Sneha is played by Deepa Parab and Mansukhlal Shah is played by Arvind Rathod.
