Amit Jain
You have seen him play the flamboyant Ronit Gujral in Ye Meri Life Hai,
this time around Amit Jain steps into the shoes of a more sober character.
Giving details about his new show Thodi Khushi Thode Ghum he said, "I
play Pranav — a Harvard educated guy who still embodies the traditional
values and culture of his family.
His family means the world for him and his father's word is the final in
every decision he makes."
Gujju sensebilities
How different is Pranav from Ronit, the character he played in Yeh... Life?
"Pranav is very simple and chilled-out. He has no airs about himself.
Unlike Ronit he doesn't have any starry attitudes."
Divulging the reasons why he chose to do the show Amit said, " I know
everyone says this about their show, but there isn't any other drama on
television these days like Thodi Khushi Thode Ghum. Also since it
revolves around the concept of a Jain- Gujarati family system, it has
something for people of all ages."
Kabhie nahin rona
How was it working with Deepa Parab (earlier seen as Jia in Reth)? "Both of
us are new to each other, so it did take us a while to get comfortable. But
I think from day two onwards we broke the ice and since then it's been
great fun."
Jain points out that he admires his co-star for shedding tears at will.
"She's amazing with emotional scenes where tears are required. She
needs to be told to cry, and in seconds you see tears streaming down her
face. On the contrary, I need glycerine in such scenes."
What gives Amit khushi:
"I am a sports addict and used to indulge in football and cricket earlier.
These days I go for my dance classes at Ganesh Acharya's Academy and
also have a personal trainer who teaches me action sequences And
Bollywood is my dream.
I am slowly and steadily preparing myself for the big break."
