I am following basketball closely to avoid looking fake on screen: Manish Nawani

The good looking and talented Manish Nawani, who was last seen in Channel V's The Buddy Project 2 (Sunshine Productions), is today enjoying his stint as an anchor of the basketball special series NBA Inside Stuff: India EditionTellychakkar.com, the young lad states, "I indeed love this new experience. Earlier too I had shot a pilot for a game show for an education channel, but sadly things did not materialize with them. From then I was desperately waiting to do something new besides acting. And when this opportunity came, I grabbed it with both my hands."

"As an actor you get used to emoting various moods following which everything gets into your comfort zone. Even when you are told to do a love making scene, a bit of prodding can take you there, but anchoring is a different game altogether," avers Manish.

Sounding all excited, he further shares, "It's been almost eight years since I am in Mumbai and joining this show gives me the feelings of a newbie who is all excited in the morning to get to work. The way we shoot NBA Inside Stuff is very organised. We are given our scripts well-in-advance and a week to prepare ourselves. Viewers will also get to know the real Manish through this show."

He also has a beautiful co-anchor in Neelam Sivia in the show. How is it working with her, we ask. "Oh, it's fabulous; she is such an intelligent person. And although it's the first time that I am working with her, we have really gelled well and the chemistry definitely comes across in the show," Manish answers.

We also quizzed the actor on his interest in sports, to which he smilingly puts in, "To be honest, I am not much into sports although I know about it. But after signing up the show, I am following basketball closely to avoid looking fake on-screen. And thankfully I have also got hooked to the game. So on the whole, it's quite a fun."

So is he now open to more chances of anchoring? "Absolutely, I was actively doing theatre when I was in college and it was the love of acting that brought me to Mumbai. I always believed that I should just focus on acting; rest of the things like fame and money would automatically follow. It's your passion that drives you to places and now having started doing theatre once again, I am all game for everything from acting to anchoring to RJing," he informs.

Elaborating on the same he adds, "Have you heard the perfect diction of Salman Khan or Shah Rukh Khan; they are just beautiful. I have a friend who has worked with SRK who told me how much effort the star puts in to mouth words so fabulously. Hence, with me back to the theatre, I am opening up my horizons and getting ready to take up challenging stuff in the near future. I am meeting people; let's see what the future holds for me. All I can do is just pray," smiles the humble Manish as he concludes.

We wish you all the luck and success Manish.
